has anyone else bought the what to expect pregnancy journal. it's amazing you can keep everything organized and journal each day, for me it's like talking to my baby, and it will be a wonderful thing for the baby to have once he/she is older to see how much he/she meant to us.

I have a question for you guys - i hate even asking it, but were any of you guys nervous about having sex after going through IVF. I am terrified that its going to hurt something. my DH has been wonderful and I think he is as nervous as i am. Sorry if it's too personal but my ob acts like it's no big deal, but i am so worried to do anything that could harm my pregnancy, we've worked so hard to get here.

Molly I just figured it out myself
when you copy it from lilypie delete this part and only keep the stuff in the middle.
(keep stuff in between)
it took me a week to figure it out!

That was one of the first things my nurse asked me was if I had had intercourse. The answer to that is a big fat NO. I have to make sure everything is ok first. Besides with the OHSS I'm sure it would've been to painful. Here is WAAAAY to much info but there are other ways of enjoyment besides intercourse.

tburks - you made me laugh out loud on that one. That is what I've told my DH and he is ok with that. It sounds bad but i am so glad to hear someone else is as nurotic as i am, my ob made it seem like no big deal. My big concern is I dont know when i am going to think it's ok. I told him once we had the ultrasound, then since i didn't see the baby i said once we have the the next u/s, but honestly i don't know if i will be comfortable until i am out of my first trimester. I feel like it's my first time having sex and i'm a nervous girl again, i know that's awful but god love him for being patient!

They’re growing so fast at this time and have plenty of days to catch up.

This ticker shows the development visually and can accommodate twins: http://babystrology.com/tickers/ It is a little creepy, though.

Joannet
Glad you’re through the scare. Smooth sailing here on out.

Tburks
Perhaps you’re experiencing Joannet’s lining issue?

Molly23 and BarBD
I’m also estimated for 10/21, but if your twins have anything to say, you’ll probably be a month or so earlier.

Niki
I have the book, but not the journal. Sounds neat. I’ll check it out.

I understand your nervousness, but everything I’ve read and heard from the drs. says sex is fine unless they tell you otherwise for a specific issue. We’ve done it and have had on track u/s since. It is a stress reliever.

Nicki- I have the what to expect when expecting book, but I am going to look at the journal on lunch today. I know I need something to keep all my doctor appointments in, and questions. I also went to Amazon and read the reviews and I heard it has a good measurement of what to eat everyday.

As far as sex the doctor gave the okay to have it, but I am still too scared, and I guess we will when it feels right.

I noticed I cannot suck in my stomach today, but I still really have no morning sickness. I only feel sick a little when I don't eat, and I just solve that by eating. I want to start trying to eat healthier but so far my cravings are winning. LOL

Welcome JennLB25! Wow a lot of us are due on the 21st in this thread. I am sure it will change for me since I am having twins. Did they say what the baby's heart rate was. Congrats on seeing your baby on the ultrasound.

No, he didn't tell me the heart rate. I asked him and he said "it's too early to tell". I wanted to say "WHAT, all the other girls know their's", but I figured that wouldn't go over well. So, I guess I have to wait to see OB/GYN and my u/s with them.

Hey ladies, sorry I’ve been MIA. Busy at work and I’m so dang tired at night!

Tburks: I’m thinking of you today…GOOD LUCK! I spotted too if you remember, but mine was dark. At my first u/s RE looked at everything and said everything’s fine. He did tell me that it’s quite common for some women to bleed off and on throughout pregnancy. I know that would make me a basket case!

Niki: I have the what to expect book but haven’t bought the journal. Maybe I’ll go take a look, however, I’m never good about journaling everyday! And I completely know where you’re coming from with the sex issue. When I finally broke down and felt too guilty for DH, that’s when I spotted. I told him no more until we get good u/s! We’ve had 2 good u/s and h/b is healthy so I felt a little more comfortable. I didn’t think I’d ever want to again until after the whole 9 months, but my feelings are starting to change. You’ll know when it’s right for you!

Molly: I’m so happy for you! :D :D Twins will be fun, but work! See, we told you you were worried for nothing! I’m sure once your symptoms hit, if you are unlucky like some of us, you’ll be regretting wishing they were there!

Joannet: I’m so glad everything turned out ok…phew! I’ve read that mom’s expecting twins will usually show faster than singletons, so that could be a reason for your little tummy. I’m starting to get a bump already, but it’s because I’m on the border of being overweight  I've aalso been told that if you don't have strong stomach muscles, you'll show faster.

BarbD: I’m so glad you decided to join us! Another twin mommy, hopefully! How are you feeling?

JennLB25: Great news…it was too early at your first u/s! I’m so happy for you! :D

Twinmom: Good to hear that everything was ok after the scare with your BETA numbers!

shelleyj5: Good luck at your u/s today, let us know how it goes! :D

Afm: I know I must be growing because I’m starting to have pains in my sides which feel like I’ve been exercising, but I haven’t! And, knock on wood, I’m feeling better each day. I think it’s probably the change in vitamins, so now I’m scared to go back to pre-natal pills! DH still hasn’t told his parents, although everyone else knows. I’m starting to get mad at him over it…just tell them already! They’re going to be pissed if they hear from someone else! Oh, and my face has gotten splotchy red spots and I’m getting little pimples…uggghhhh! So much for being a glowing pregnant gir!

Hi

Post by joannet »

Hi everyone, well today was our third u/s and everything looks good. We have been transferred to our OB now. The RE's office would not check the heartbeats, something about it's not good for the fetus at this stage. I wanted to say that everyone else knows, but I refrained.

The on and off bleeding continues, and there was even a bit of liquid in my uterus today. The RE was not too concerned said it could be the extra lining going away. I have to say, I am not convinced. So I am really looking forward to my visit with my OB on 03/17.

Welcome JenLB25 and BarbD

tburks - try not to worry too much. I just about had a nervous breakdown when we started bleeding last weeek and all has turned out well. Although I do wish it made more sense. Pray is a good idea. We used lots of it during the last couple of weeks also. My RE also said that it was more common with twins because there are two of them implanting into the uterus. Who knows. Also, my RE actually told us no intercourse, let's see how long that lasts....

Niki - I haven't used the journal before, but that's a good idea, since this is going to be the absolute last time we get to experience this. :)

Ok, so I think my due date is also on 10/21, but I am not sure. I guess I better check with the OB when I see him.

Have a great evening everyone, lots of good wish your way.

Joanne

Good News on my u/s today!! Baby is fine, and we seen a good strong heartbeat. RE said he thought the bleeding was from the progesterone which can happen sometimes. He said my cervix was a little irritated so he felt sure that's what it was. I feel much better now.

mandeekins
I am getting the little pimples too and if I am glowing it would be the color green.....I was sick all day. It seems like I will have one good day and one bad one, who knows. I'll just take what I get and be thankful it's all for a good cause.

Jenn
My RE didn't tell me the heartbeat either. I asked him why he didn;t do it and he said the heat from the u/s wasn't good for the baby at this early stage so they try not to keep it on them to long. Made sence to me so I told him don't do it. Just as long as we see it I'm fine w/that.

Molly
I can't suck my stomach in either. It's wierd! DH was asking today why am I so big already and there is only one baby in there. But I do have OHSS and that makes you swell a lot.

Hello to all of the October Mommies to be! October is such a wonderful month, dh and I started dating in October, got engaged in October and got married in October (not all in the same year of course!)

Many of you were on the jan/feb/march cycle buddies with me and I want to say congrats to you all. Isn't it so exciting to finally make it over to this side of the boards? Hopefully I will join you again soon, my cycle was delayed until april due to my polyp removal, which will be next week.

I just wanted to comment about a couple things. First, I saw you talking about a journal and I wanted to tell you what I did even though you will think I am crazy. Ella is now 6 months old and I realized that my entire ivf journey and pregnancy have been chronicled right here on this website. So I went back to my original cycle buddy thread, and bump buddy thread, and copy and pasted all of my posts into a word document. Yes, it took a long time (especially since I had to do it twice because the first time it was on my laptop which died) but it was so worth it. I was so emotional going back and reading my true, raw emotions that I shared with all of the wonderful people here, and I know one day Ella will love to read it and know how badly we really wanted her.

Second, about sex, We were given the all clear after our first u/s, but we were way scared and I don;t think we did anything until close to the end of the first trimester, and even then, we were very careful and we did not do much throughout the entire pregnancy. And trust me, I wanted to because my hormones went crazy and I my libido increased, but we were just too nervous. But to all who do and want to, it is safe at this point, and I am sure your ob's will tell you the same. I was assured multiple times by multiple dr's that if anything were to happen at this stage, it was 100% not due to intercourse. So have fun!

Enjoy your pregnancies! I will keep checking on you all. :D
