I havent seen anyone out there yet but i wonder if there is anyone either pregnant or a mommy to high order multiples???
My first cycle was a BFN and my second cycle i end up with 4!! (1 egg spilt so 2 are identical). I have done a lot of soul searching and have decided against SR, although not for any moral reason, just because i already feel attached to all of them.
If anyone has any experience/knows anyone in this same situation i would love to hear from you... i am so happy to be finally pg, but i do feel kind of 'alone' in this predicament
Hey Kas I was with you back in the OCT/NOV/DEC thread.. .i think. I am so happy for you. 1 is good but 4 is great =] After everything you been thru to get pregnant, I am happy you are moving away from SR. I am not in your shoes but I can understand a pregnancy of 4 is difficult but SR also has its cons to it. Only faith knows why you are here in this world with not 1 or 2 or 3 but 4 babies. You will be a great mother Kas. Congrats!!!!!

Kas101: If you go on the Double/Triple+ Trouble '09 thread there are two women there carrying triplets right now. One of them is Literitriz and the other I just can't remember the name of.
While on that thread if you back track to page 11, you'll see all our tickers and there names will be on them. they are both wonderful ladies and I'm sure that they can help you. I believe Literitriz os nearing the end of her pregnancy and she did just great.
Congratulations on your blessing times 4 and I'm so happy that you chose to stick it out with your little ones. They will be so thankful that your such a great mommy. =)
Rosario!! How great to hear from you and thanks for your kind words... I do lurk on a lot of the cycling boards as there are so many ladies from previous cycles still trying and i like to keep up!!! I really hope third time is a charm for you, sounds like you have a plan to move forward and i will be watching out for you BFP
SilverAngel Wow you are getting close! I think Much Hope is the other lady with trips... we cycled together last Aug/Sept (both unsuccessfully) I guess i should get over there and make contact... i just feel out of place joining a due month board as i will never be in sync with anyone...thanks for the advice
Congratulations Kas, how amazing for you, a ready made family all in one go!!! DH will definately have to be looking after you!!
Silverangel just wanted to say how time has flown past, you made some posts on a thread I put up last year and you were under 20 weeks then, I have just seen your ticker and you are almost there!!! You must be getting so excited now, hope you are sitting back and taking it easy looking forward to hearing your beautiful boys are here!!

Finally I am a mummy, we are about to adopt our beautiful little girl xxxxx
Aw Sara, Thanks so much for thinking of me. Please know that I think about you a lot too and I always try to keep an eye on you to see how your doing. I hope things are going well and that your ready to try again soon. Please give your sister my regards as well as I think she is an amazing person.
Yeah we're really exited. The time has flown by to a point for me as well and we're so ready for them to get here.
It's so funny, my husband and I were just talking about how we tried so hard to get them in there and now where just so excited to get them OUT!!
Keep in touch and I hope to get great news from you soon.
I can pretty much relate to you. Last year I went though my 2nd IVF (my first ended in a M/C of twins at 16 weeks) and had 2 embrios. To my very high suprise, and DH, on week 7 they did and U/S and discovered there where 3 babies..one had divided in 2!!! (just like you) It was quite a shock.
Currently I am 32 weeks and the babies are looking very good, each one with weights arround 3,7lbs. My C section is scheduled for 1 week to 10 more days at 33-34 weeks since I am a small woman (5,3 feet tall)
It is a scary feeling and you definetly ARE a high risk pregnancy. It will be a lot of work once you have you babies. But it is in my experience, absolutly crucial during your pregnancy:
- go to a experienced multiples doctor, regardless of how expensive. My doctor is the best in my country (Chile), very expensive but he saved my pregnancy with wise desicions
- REST A LOT. Your body and uterus are (and will be more in the future) under an extraordinary amount of stress. All the energy you have HAS to go to this requirements
- EAT WELL. This is crucial: lots of red meat (you will need plenty of iron), white meat, milk, eggs, rice, potatos and fruit. Otherwise, the babies will eat you.
I wish you the best of luck. It is a hard road, but an extraordinary one and you should feel blessed. I agree to dismiss FR sincee you have been fighting so much for a baby, going thoug an extraordinary streess like IVF so you must take this as a miracle.
If you have any further question, please let me know.
Thanks for the advice, you are nearly there and the babies weights sound really good!!! Of course, everytime i hit the internet i am faced with doom and gloom so hearing how well you are doing gives me a lot of hope....
I am also a small person like you and that has concerned me.... I do rest up a lot even now and i dont do the 'usual' thinks like grocery shopping or housework, as dh takes care of that now. I help out with laundry and i do the dishes, but thats it and i make sure i rest on my side for a few hours every afternoon.
My other angle is to try to eat and that was going great till about 12 weeks when i suddenly lost my appetite...everything smells disgusting to me, so i try to mainly just to concentrate on getting proteins down and i take 2 protein drinks a day to supplement.
I dont think i have any specific questions, but its good to hear from someone else so i dont feel so 'alone' and scared with this, although i have some amazing support from ladies on this board i have known for some time and of course a wonderful dh..
Good luck and please let me know how it goes.... i would love to know their birth weights and your experieces if any of the NICU....
It is better NOT to look in the internet. Every pregnancy is different, so try to focus entirely in yours.
I can understand you are not feeling hungry right now, but as you well said, proteins are the key in this stage and taking protein supplements (ensure in my case) can really do wonders for you and your babies.
I had a TERRIBLE first trimester. Bleeding for 2 months, been in the OR twice, infections...etc. Doctors didn´t think I would make it to 30 weeks. But I proved them wrong!!!! Determination is key, lots of help from my family (I was sent to bed from day 1 until now), DH, and LOTS of prayers. And PLEASE remember to go to an experienced in multiples doctor...I have to say thar if it wouldn´t been for him, I probably wouldn´t have made it till 32 and a half weeks. This is KEY.
I honestly wish you the best of luck, it is a long journey and you will need a lot of help. But is possible. I knnow a woman who had quads and made it till week 33 so hang in there!!!!!
I will keep you updated!!!!!!
Best of luck and strengh for you and your DH, and as I said, considered yourself blessed by God, you are being tested and all you have to give back is love: for your babies and with your DH to your family to be. It is hard, but in my experience, every time you are down, think of those 4 little persons inside of you and they will give you all the energy you need. When you hear their H/B and see them on the U/S....always think "as long as they are good, I am good"
Best of luck, lots of strengh and good luck.
Ronnie
Dear Kas,
I am literatriz...the 50 years old with triplets. I understand your worries...4 is much more than 3.
Selective reduction is not a simple choice. There are SIGNIFICANT risks for the remaining babies and also there are indications that some parents struggle with "survivor's guilt" when they get the healthy babies that were selected.
We did not reduce and it was a bit challenging. Everyone is different...but don't make any decisions before reading and speaking to parents and specialists. From what I've read, your physical frame (height and weight basically) and gestational history are important factors. Hope you and your partner agree at the end.
I really enjoyed what Ronnie wrote to you, couldn't agree more.
I do have some books I would recommend, let me know if you want the references.
One woman I've met at the hospital had 4 fetuses. One didn't make (died a few days after birth) but I believe she was more comfortable that way than if she had reduced. Three babies made it home with her. One will be always remembered but the parent's would not have to carry the responsibility of the choice.
It is a hard time for you and I hope you find calm to go through this delicate time in your pregnancy.
Whatever you decide, good luck to you and your family!
Best wishes, Literatriz

I just wanted to say good luck!!! Think positive! There is a set of quads in my twin group and she went to 35 weeks and all 4 boys are great! She was on the tall side but did bed rest well and they all thrived! I think if it's meant to be.. . lucky you!
