Wow, there have been a lot of exciting new developments. Where to start?
Bonnie, i am glad you joined us. Congrats on your 2 blasts. You are now PUPO too. You have frosties to boot. Can you say siblings?!?! That sounds like implantation bleeding. That sure is a good sign.
Biddy, i am glad we heard back from you. Congrats to you too. I hope both of the little embies are snuggling in nice and tight.
Santa, OMG!!!! A BFCongrats to you. You had me so worried. I just knew it was a BFN since we haven't heard from you. See, told you not to do all those early HPTs. Too much stress. I really would call your RE. If you are having bleeding the embryos is still trying to get a good hold or you could be developing a Subchorionic Hematoma. That could compromise the blood flow that the fetus is trying to get established. Please call your RE. He may say all is well. But if you wiped out and then later miscarried, you would never forgive yourself. You would always wonder "what if". What was your beta? I guess number 2 is on Monday?
Sisi, did you get the PMA i sent your way? I am sending you "NO CYST VIBES".
Kat, sorry but no sex for you. Wait until the RE says it is okay. Some make you wait until the first US. So for now you 2 little love birds will have to wait. I am sure you husband would settle for a hummer. LMAO
Missy, great news on your beta!! I am so relieved to see such a great number.
Sue, awesome beta #2. I know you are over the moon. And you are right. I do feel much better knowing those were not good embryos. That would have chapped my ass big time if any of them were normal.
Sharon AKA njsurga, i am glad the old hag finally decided to show herself. Now you can get on your way. Your AFC is what you would expect to see at your age. It just means you have very diminished ovarian reserve. But at this stage you could have a bunch of smaller follies that are too small to see. If so, some of them might respond to stims. Most people end up with more follies and more eggs by the time they make it to ER. Most end up with significantly more. I only had 1 more but that is not the norm overall. It may be the norm for AMA patients though. I have followed a poll on IVF connections about AFC vs. number of eggs retrieved. But it doesn't give ages and most of those ladies are likely much younger than us. Who knows? Maybe the other ladies on here will chime in. Actually, i hope they all will. It would be good to have an idea of what AMA patients should expect.
Renee and Lynnie, thinking of you both. BIG HUGS to you both.
Waving hello to the rest of you. Sorry, the group is getting too big to do personals on everybody each time. I will catch the rest of you awesome ladies later. Let me know where is messed up please.
One more thing, i just want those of you that are using donor eggs to understand why i make a distinction in the list. I don't want somebody who is in there mid 40's thinking it would be easy for them to have a baby via IVF with their own eggs. I want the list to be a reflection of what is happening to real AMA patients. I hope you understand. I may end up there someday myself.

thanks everyone for your good wishes. Sadly I am now getting bright red bleeding. I have not had a beta yet, as I am out of the country so won't be able to have a test for at least another 5 days.
I called the RE and they simply said to incrase the progesterone pessaries from 1 to 2 a day but that there was nothing they could really tell me else.
argh - so sad. I feel in my heart that it is already too late...
MIssy, did you have any bright red bleeding? I had brown for the last day but now it is turning bright red.
Not necessarily the case AT ALL. Some women have what they think is full on AF and some have lots of bleeding intermittently for weeks. But they still have healthy babies. It really is not that uncommon. It may very well just be a progesterone issue. I will keep you and your little one in my prayers.
Santa...yes, i had bright red blood after a BM on Wednesday night and then it went brown the next day...today has been great until an hour ago when I had another BM and more pinkish/red blood in the bowl and upon wiping. Very scary and I too am worried that this is going to end badly....my BETA was great yesterday though so I'm hoping this is just some strange occurence or the embryo(s) digging in deeper or......I don't know. Odd that the brighter blood comes after a BM (and yes, it's definetly coming from my Vjayjay!
If you are not cramping and it's not as heavy as a period, you are probably fine....just try to rest if you can and take it easy.
I only take one supposititory of Progesterone twice a day...I wonder if I should be taking more than too? do you put it in your bum or vagina?

I dont know if I am having any symptoms (early PG symptoms) I cant remember what they felt like anymore. Part of me thinks I am having some, but as soon as I stop thinking about the possibility of beng pregnant they go away. Except for the low back pain and light cramping from time to time. In the mornings I dont feel so good, not super sick in sense, just not "good" (does that make any sense?)
I am so afraid to POAS and see a "not Pregnant" sign. I know I and my husband will be equally will be devastated I will be 42 in August, I dont feel like I have much time, even though I see/hear of women my age and older having babies all the time! I know that if I POAS that I will be crushed. I am not floating around thinking I am pg, but I am definitely preparing myself for a negative---are we ever prepared? It seems more so that we are not prepared to hear a BFP than a BFN!
Tomorrow will be my 7days post 5.8day transfer. I so want to POAS! But i won't ------Lord please give me strength!!
Thanks ladies for letting me kill time druing this 2WOH and no SEX just plain .
Thinking about you Santa!

Kat: I could never wait until my blood test when I had IVF's. I always had to POAS. I told myself that I wanted to prepare myself for the BFN. It did help prepare me, as I was a little hopeful until I got the official results, but still prepared for the BFN.

KAT... like, Tammy, I too POAS before my first beta... for me (and everyone is different), I wanted to be prepared for the BFN... and I've read several cases where a negative HPT didn't necessarily lead to a negative beta, depending of different circumstances (which leaves the door for hope open)... it's up to you, but if you decide to POAS, I totally understand!... hope you get great results. either way.

As most of you know I had my 3rd cycle day ultrasound today and the doc saw 3 follicles. He didn't explain much to me so when I got home I popped online and did some research. I found that 3 follicles on day 3 is REALLY bad. I read that at that number I probably won't even respond to stims. Why is he going to monitor my cycle for the next month? Did he cancel out this month without telling me? I thought he would put me on some meds and now I know why he didn't. I didn't get FSH back yet but he must have an idea of where I am. It doesn't look good. I'm devestated and so sad!!
Sharon... I know you're sad, but give yourself a break... it's not like you did anything wrong, except being a loving, beautiful 44-year-old... you, I and everyone else will follow the road to 50 similarly and unfortunately, there's nothing (right now) that they've concocted to anti-age our eggs!... so that being said, my only advice (if you decide to continue with your own eggs) is something that my RE said he had significant success with... ESTROGEN PRIMING PROTOCOL... he said it works particularly well with our age group and poor responders.
worth a try, no?... I'm not a doctor (and I don't even play one on TV), but I like to pass along any info that might help someone.

Suzanne: Thanx so much for the advice!! You ladies are the best supporters ever!!
Another thought I had is this, I had the strangest cycle ever this month (it would figure right). I started spotting (which I never do) last week so when I started spotting more I thought it was my first day. I never had a full flow this month so my days could be off. Could I get a better follicle count next cycle if it's more on track?
Maybe he's looking for a better cycle next month, also he mentioned something about natural IVF. Thats without stims right? I just don't see how.

Santa: Please hang in there and don't panic. Brown blood is old blood and lots of women on here say they experience red bleeding. Please don't give up sweetie!! Were prayin for ya!

Kelly,
that is so incredibly kind of you to keep track of all us chickens out here!
I wanted to respond on the mention of DE and why you listed it. I understand perfectly--as we need to look as results for what they are. I am 45 1/2 (still counting those halfs--i'm a glutton for punishment!) and in my case, if we were looking at MY retrieval we would get a lot different results than my 22 year old donor!
I gotta tell you ladies...i was married before to a man who didnt like children AT ALL (i know--my bad). so i faithfully took BC during my 10 year marriage. Towards the end I finally got him to agree to adopt a 12 year old girl from russia. He tossed us out 6 months later. I wandered in the wilderness for 5 years and finally met prince charming. He had been tossed out of his house 5 years earlier too by an unfaithful spouse. Mine wasnt unfaithful--just not very nice!
So my adopted daughter is now 20 (my dh adopted her at age 18--such an awesome man!) So now i am a mom and a step-mom--and loving all that, but with that deep desire to have a bio child. We got pregnant right away--and the first one lasted to 12 weeks (DEVASTATING) only God healed that pain. The second time we MC at 7 weeks. So after bloodwork, Histerogram, and clomid challenge it was revealed that my body was 25 and my eggs were done.
I cried for 2 days. When the doctor suggested ED--i think i gasped in horror! There was NO WAY i was going to consider that. I have learned a lot about never saying never! I must tell you my donor is literally a younger (a lot younger!) version of myself. When we saw and read about her--my husband and i were both shocked with the similarities.
So here I am praying for a BFP!!! We decided due to age and money to try one fresh and frozen for as many as we could. with 6 good quality frozen--i guess that would be 2 more cycles.
We wanted to adopt from China--and some other asian countries--but discovered we needed to be married 5 years as it is a second marriage. by the time we are married 5 years we will be too old. I have been very involved in the world of adoption--even was an adoption lobbyist on capital hill. So I must tell you--that through this struggle, God has given me a heart for infertility that I just didnt have before.
I applaud you all for your strength and desire to raise a child. I know from expereince, as do most of you, that being a parent is the ultimate act of service. I hope together that we can help one another have peace in the waiting and to heal our wounds so that we can be more whole and better "rents"
sorry for the short story, bonnie

Sharon: I'm so sad to read your post. Talk to your doctor. Maybe there is still hope if your FSH is not too high. I too may be in the same boat, as I will have my cycle day 3 FSH and antral follicle count done this next cycle. Your birthday is 1 day after mine. I turn 45 on April, 28th.
Bonnie: I wanted to tell you that DH and I are in the process of adopting from China. We got our dossier in before the new regulations went into effect, as we have been married less than 5 years. We found out that our dossier log in date in China was 6/09/06 and then on 6/28/06 I got the BFP on our DS. It was a miracle. My RE and embryologist were in shock, as DS was conceived naturally while waiting to do a frozen cycle. At the current time the Chinese are referring babies to families with Log in dates of March 3 - 6, 2006. Just 3 more months of referrals to get to our date. I'm guessing it will take 1 - 1.5 years before we get our referral. It seems so far away that it is difficult to get excited yet. I keep thinking that things will change before we get our baby and the Chinese will halt their international adoption program. I wish that I could just forget this fertility ride and wait patiently for the adoption, but so far have been unable to do so. My DH thinks that I'm obsessed with fertility.
Biddy: Good luck on your 2 ww.
Kat: How are you doing? Did you POAS yet?
