Swimming after ER/ET/polypectomy

Post by CT_Michele »

I am just wondering what people's RE's have said about swimming after any of these procedures. I am scheduled for a polyp removal next Thursday, 3/12, and I signed my 6 mo old daughter up for swim lessons that start the 14th. It is a parent/tot class that requires me to get in the pool with her for the 25 min. lesson. Nothing strenuous, I just have to hold her, but I am afraid due to vaginal bleeding after the procedure they may say no swimming.

I am also gearing up for my next ivf cycle, with er/et while lessons are still in session, so I am just curious if RE's said not to swim and for how long. If I am going to miss a bunch of classes, I may have to pull her out, or find someone else to get in the water with her.

Of course I will ask my RE next time I see him, but just curious in the meantime. Thanks.

Hi to my CT friend, as far as I remember, Dr. Levi or maybe one of the girls in the office said NO SWIMMIMG til the Beta, then because I spotted for the entire 1st trimester I couldn't swim until that stopped. A big pain, I know-but better to be safe than sorry!!!!! Good Luck!!!! Jennifer

Hey Jenny- I was afraid he might say that. I tried to call them today, but missed their call back, so will have to try again on monday. Oh well, I will have to find someone else to get in the water with her.

Your due date is coming close! I can't wait to hear about your delivery and the arrival of your little one. Happy Third Trimester to you, and I will keep up with you on your other thread.

There was no restriction on swimming when I had my polypectomy. However, I was on "vaginal rest"-- so no tampons allowed, and I was spotting for several days afterwards. Hope this helps!

As for ET, no swimming until after Beta.
