Post by bighope2009 »

Hi everyone....i'm new to this message board.

i'm starting PGD soon and desperate to hear from any mum who had a baby with PGD or expecting a baby after having PGD.

Hope some mums would like to share their stories with me :D

big hope: I just did my first PGD & am now 7 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins! That's one of the perks of PGD, you will know what gender your embryos are :) We started out with 15 eggs at retrieval, 9 fertilized appropriately, all 9 made it to day 5, but only 2 were genetically normal. So, we transferred both normals & they both stuck & seem to be doing very well. We did PGD because of recurrent miscarriages. I have had 5 miscarriages with no live births. PGD seems to have been the answer for us! Good luck!!!
Me & DH 26 yrs
IVF with PGD #1 2/09
ER Feb 4th, ET Feb 9th
Beta #1 Feb 17th: 344!!
Beta #2 Feb 19th: 1007!!

Hi Shelly.....thanks so much for ur response. Twins...how exciting ! Congrats!!! I am so happy for you! nice 2 hear that it works

My husband and I r both carriers of a genetic trait, which if the baby had both of them, she/he would be having a very serious genetic disease!!

We both provided blood this morning and we'll have to wait for 3 months for the DNA analysis to be done....too long...can't wait till it's done!

Good luck to you and take care of urself...and the twins of course

Hope 2 hear from u again.
