crazy follicle/cyst

Post by silken »

I'm on day 4 of stims (300 units of Gonal F and 150 of Menopur) for my first IVF cycle. Two follicles are growing (1.1 and 1.1), but one is going crazy (at 1.9).
I don't have my blood results yet, but I'm concerned that this means I might be ready to ovulate, or that they'll need to supress early, or even cancel the cycle.
Anyone have a lead follicle way ahead of the rest of the pack?

I'm not sure though what unit of measurement you are talking about with 1.1 and 1.9. If you are talking about mm, I would not worry AT ALL. I was told they are looking for your follicles to get into the mid-high teens in size before giving you your trigger shot. If that's in cm, I would ask your doctor if he/she has any specific concerns or if the larger one has, in fact, been identified as a cyst. I have had a 2.2 cm cyst for a while now, so they knew to not count that with the other follicles. In my experience they are all going to grow at different rates and attain different sizes during your stimulation, so it's probably fine.

silken - If you have one lead follicle, they might just ignore that one and let the other ones grow. I currently have a 44mm follie, all the rest of mine are between 11mm and 15mm. As long as my E2 levels stay good they will continue to let me stim and just use the smaller follicles.
