serious cramping during 2ww

Post by franchesca »

hello everyone. I am new to this site and ivf. I am 35 and in the 2ww of my first cycle. Had one 5det on March 4th. Blood test scheduled for 3/13. I have had serious PMS-like cramping through last Saturday and felt totally normal on Sunday and Monday. Just an hour ago, I felt cramping like my period could arrive any second. I think my bleeding doe snot start because I am still on progestrone cream and estrogen patch. Could anyone please tell me if they experienced a situation similar to mine and if they had BFN or BFP? i would appreciate an insights because it is scary being in this situation. I sincerely wish all of us the best of luck and the healthiest of babies.

I have had the same experience as lynniecat - Both of my first two cycles I felt nothing the whole time and they were BFN's. This time around I have been cramping off and on the whole time, sometimes quite strongly and to the point where I have been having trouble sleeping. And I got my BFP 3/7! So definitely don't give up hope yet!

Congratulations on your BFP!!!! That's great news. My blood test is tomorrow and I have not had the nerve/guts to do a HPT... One way or another, we will know tomorrow. I wish you the healthiest of pregnancies and a wonderful baby (or babies if you are having more than one). Big hugs.

I have to sadly report that I got my blood test results yesterday afternoon and it was a negative. My first ivf cycle failed. The last 18hrs or so have been tough filling me with fear of "what if this never works for us"... Then what??? I hope you all have better results out there and best of luck. My next step is FET I guess. I have 7 frozen with 2 of them grade A. The 5 were characterized as "average to better than average". I don't even know what to make of the "average to better-than-average". Does this mean a child from one of these embryos has a higher chance of having health issues? any insights would be valuable. Good luck ladies!!! I pray we all realize our dreams.

Franchesca  I am so sorry to hear of your BFN
My heart really goes out to you. I think maybe next time you can talk to your RE about doing a 2 Embryo transfer with your FET to increase your chances. Look forward to that and know in your heart that since you have plenty of frosties it will happen for you. As far as your question regarding the health issues for children born of less quality embryos; there is plenty of documentation showing that they fair as well as the higher quality ones. I understand it doesn't make for an unhealthy child necessarily, but those of less quality have less of a likelihood to implant than the ones of the highest quality. Hope this helps answer your question a little, but you can google this and get plenty of info online as well.
I am having my beta done this Wednesday 3/18 for my first IVF also. I looked at your forum because I was curious about your question regarding cramping. I had a lot of cramping on days 8, 9 & 10 post retrieval; today (day 11) I feel really bloated, like the way you feel before you get your period. I was encouraged by what the other girls had to say about cramping, but was bummed when I saw your result.
I feel like you did and am double guessing every single symptom. It seems like Wednesday is a lifetime away and I refuse to give in the the HPT temptation.
Well again I am sorry to hear about this cycle for you, but hope you the world of luck for your FET :D
