Kat,

for whatever my meager amount of experience is worth....
i have only done this current cycle--and it has been with DE. But i think that would be similar to a frozen cycle for you?

i used lupron, estradiol and prometrium. The only discomfort i had was during the lupron phase--i was getting headaches that got increasingly worse until i started my estradiol...which is typical i think. after that--i have had no problems at all. i feel totally fine. no weight gain, no mood swings..i may weep a little easier--but nothing horrible!

So i woudl think a frozen cycle would be much easier on your system. Let your new RE tell you about your frosties. The older I get the more i realize we have to love people to do any job well.

your DH loves YOU, sounds like to me! he isnt so worried about a baby. I'm glad. One way or another we are going to grow old together with our DH's--and that relationship needs to come FIRST whether we have kidlets or not. i am proud of you for listening to him.

God is in charge (whether we like it or not!) and he will lead you to the right path. DON'T LOSE HOPE!!!

Congrats Biddi, what a blessing!

Well girls, you are not going to believe todays ultrasounds results!

ALL 11 of my follicles have reached 1.1 - 1.5, how about that for a perfect cluster? I am so happy I could jump but I will not until I hear back about my blood results being ok as well. But if everything checks out I am hoping my Dr let's me continue to stimm for a couple of days more and go through with the IVF after all!

I have prayed sooo much, went to acupuncture, used a large hot dressing to provide good blood flow to the ovaries and I can't have imagined a better results in terms of follie growth. I am so thankful right now but I am very anxious to know my blood levels because I know now they are key to what happens next.

And I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, I did take my ganirelix as prescribed as I read that an LH surge can effect the quality of the eggs.

I will keep you updated in couple of hours, can't wait!

 Suzanne18: Thanks for replying! I see you are pregnant on your first IVF cycle. So AMAZING!! I did alot of research on the web and the statisitics look sooo grim, but I gotta say judging from the board they are way off on the over 40 thing. Most websites said 5% chance, some even said less! Alot of those statistics are at least a few years old though. Congrats to you....U give me hope!!!!!

Thank heavens my E2 levels are rising 1903 CAN /582 US.

I am good to continue to stimm but Dr gave my a hard time about not injecting the ganerilix before my bloodtest, how was I to know?

Well crises averted for today...puff, this stuff is stressful!

I have to be brief. I will catch up with everybody tomorrow.

Bonnie, that is fantastic news!!!!!! I hope you have a couple of embryos snuggling in tight. I hope you are blessed with a H+H 9 months and beyond.

Sisi, no wonder you feel your ovaries. I am so excited for you!!!! I bet you are over the moon. I can't wait for your ER. I am glad you were a good girl and took the ganirelix as prescribed. I was very worried you were going to make the wrong decision and screw things up.

Santa, i am glad to see you climbing back up on the horse so soon. Good for you sister. AFM, i estrogen primed for 2 weeks longer this time. I also took extra estrogen for the first few days to try not to ovulate through the estrace like i did the first time. So, i think i have 2 months of follies stacked up.

Kat, i know you are stressed and want to regroup for awhile. But in my opinion, that is not a wise decision. Another 6 months at your age can my a big difference in your egg quality. I just want you to know that going into it.

Tammy, did the hag show?

Babyluv, i will and you this week when i update the chart.

Sharon, i think because so many AMA patients are flooding the IVF centers they really had to tweak the protocols to keep from causing further damage to the eggs. Many protocols are too hard on old eggs. I bet the stats will be quite a bit better when the 2008/2009 come out. So keep the faith.

How are all of you pregnant girls feeling?

Hi Renee :D

I will catch up with everybody else later.

HUGS, Kelly

Biddy....congratulations!!!!! I'm so happy you saw the line..it is a wonderful moment isn't it? Hope you have a great BETA!

Yes, I had high BETA's but it is just a singleton...it was high the first time too with just a singleton so that is apparently my pattern!

Nsurja....FSH can change from month to month so don't worry if it goes up, it can come back down...mine went from 18.4 one month to 6.5 the next...CRAZY! You just have to take each month and cycle at a time. Hang in there!

My Dr. gave me a 15-20% chance of concieving at my age and I did...don't believe that less than 5% crap! WE CAN DO IT!!

Ultrasound update, it looks like I will be triggering tonight as my follies are now 1.0-1.9, not the best cluster but there are still a few that may catch up until Wednesday morning.

Keep you posted in the afternoon......

Ups, spoke too soon back stimming at least one more day....

E2 Blood levels are not quite up to par yet 2216 CAN/ 678 US.

My follies are;
right: 1.9, 1,8, 1.7, 1.6, 1.2, 1,0
Left 1.5, 1.4, 1.2, 1.0x2

It sounds like she is trying to get the left onces into the action as well, I was surprised though, I thought for sure I would trigger, there is so much growth that happens after the trigger....oh, well....hopefully tomorrow!

Good afternoon, Ladies!!!!!

I love you all for giving me hope!!!!
Anyway, Tammy it looks like we are on the EXACT same schedule. My hag showed up today. She was 5 days late....Even though I have been getting a NEG prego test since the day of my period--I was still hoping (but knew I was not because I did not have any of the prego symptoms). Oh well.

Now what? I am going to do a day 3FSH this cycle too. I am scheduled to start priming this cycle but I think I might wait one more month for my body to regulate. And I am thinking of maybe saying the $ for a DE cycle.

Which reminds me, Bonnie, CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!!!

Thinking of you all!!

Hi Ladies

Does anyone know if there is a way to avoid fragmentation of embryos? I have read so much crap, my brain is hurting and its full. I have read varibles such as ICSI, trigging too soon, too late, lab variables..anyone have any info?

Thanks,

Kat

Hello Ladies:

Here is our motivational story for the day: My best friend just called me to say that she had a positive HPT. Guess how old she is??????????? She turns 45 on April 1st! I'm happy for her but a little bummed, as I have been charting my ovulation and all she did was have sex around her ovulation time. She got pregnant 9 months before me when I had DS, as her DD is 9 months older than my DS. I'm hoping that I can get pregnant again. :)

Hil: I'm going to do the cycle day 3 FSH too!! Let's both get knocked up the old fashioned way.

Kat: I thought that fragmentation had to do with the quality of the eggs, but i'm sure that Ms. Kelly will weigh in here soon.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hil, i would start priming now just in case you move forward. I primed for 2 weeks longer this time and got 6 more antrals. That is the most i have had in a couple of years. Good luck!

Kat, there are lots of theories but no concrete proof as to what causes fragmentation. But some of the potential causes can be modified for a better outcome. Changing the drug protocol or the culture media can affect outcome. I seen posts that are proof of that by actual patients. They do not think it has to do with age related changes to the eggs which is a big plus. Apparently there is a procedure that can remove fragmentation. http://www.sbivf.com/lab_frag.htm Sorry, not much help.

Sisi, i think you will trigger tomorrow. You should have at least 6 mature follies by ER if you do that. Also, 1 or 2 of the 1.2 just might make it. KUP

Tammy, thanks for the story. I love those stories. They keep hope alive for us all!!
