Hi

Post by joannet »

Hi ladies. Well we finally had our OB appointment this week and everything was great. I am not sure if I am comfortable with continuing with this office. I may interview a few more referals. No u/s we were disappointed. I guess we will have to wait to see our precious ones again.

I am glad to see that everyone is doing well. The bleeding with multiples seems to be a common thing. Glad to see that we are not "special".

I am also eating a snack about every two to three hours to keep the m/s away. It helps most of the time.

We are getting alot of questions from friends and co workers. Everyone seems to see a difference in my physical appearence!! We are not quite ready to share our news yet, so we've been diverting the questions. Hopefully this keeps working for the next three to four weeks. I have started telling perfect stranges though. Just to experience that great feeling.....I know, sounds weird. Oh well......

Ok, have a great weekend everyone.

Hey everyone, glad that everyone is doing well and getting good reports back from their OB's.

For those that aren't too impressed with your OB's, I would try to find someone else if you're not comfortable. Ask any of your lady friends for referrals as well; that's how I found my midwife. I had heard great reviews of the clinic for several years and then a co-worker was telling me these great stories about her midwife so I thought I'd try her, and I love her! I love my clinic as well, because they do all the tests, u/s, bloodwork, all right there and I get an u/s every time, which makes me feel better.

DNT - I'm so glad everything is going good for you! I would be busting at the seams to tell people if I were you; you're stronger than I am, I know that!

tburks - When does the RE think your OHSS will start to go away? Man, that would suck, I'm so sorry you don't feel good, it sucks! I was boobing to DH last night because for some reason yesterday I didn't feel well all day. He started laughing and said "Well you asked for this"! I can't believe we paid this much money to be this sick! But, you're completely right; when I hold my bundle in 9 months, ALL of it will be worth it!

afm - I've had terrrible indigestion and I'm so sick of burping all day when I eat! I don't have heartburn though, is that normal? All I hear people having is heartburn. Well, I like the berry tums at least :?

Hello everyone! How is everyone doing?

I have been feeling yucky all day, but I guess that is expected. I still have no luck on finding a new OB. I asked a woman at work who lives near me who she uses, and she uses the same place I do. I guess I will do some more searching tonight and see what I come up with.

One thing I am concerned about is the fact my doctor had me stop doing progesterone shots last Tuesday, and it looks like from what I see on the board that most are on it until at least 10 weeks. I also read the placenta does not start producing it until 10 weeks. I am confused on why my doctor asked me to stop, and when I asked the nurse she sad that twins produce twice the amount. I wish they would have just kept me on it until 10 weeks.

How is everyone else doing?

Molly23 - i would be concerned too, but we have to hope our REs know best. If you want to stay on PIO will let you or will they not give you a prescription for it. My RE keeps all patients on it until 12 weeks. My RE allows us to go to suppositories after 6 weeks but we have to stay on it.

So I am feeling so much better with the new vitamins, but then sometimes I worry that I feel so much better. It's crazy we feel sick and it sucks we feel better and we worry. This is a roller coaster of a journey. We put together the babies closet (shelving and bars for hanging clothes) this weekend and it was so nice to feel like I was acomplishing something. I feel more and more of a bond with my baby every day.

Well ladies, I am officially done with PIO :D :D :D :D :D I can't tell you what a relief it will be tonight to go to bed early if I want and not have to wait on getting a stupid shot! FREE AT LAST! Can you tell I'm excited?

Molly - Keep looking for an OB until you're comfortable. Good luck, and I would voice your concerns to RE about PIO if I were you. Talk to the RE, and not the nurse. I found when I was confused, the nurses tended to brush me off, but my RE was patient and sat down and would explain things better. My RE had be stop at exactly 10 weeks, and according to my midwife, that's the normal range. I am still on the baby aspirin until the end of the month though.

niki - Wow, working on the baby room already? I'm way behind! I've looked at cribs, but we haven't made any purchases yet

How is everyone else doing? Anyone had the first tummy grab yet? I have, how embarrassing when I'm only 10 weeks  Has anyone bought any type of cream for your belly? I want to start slathering cream on but there are so many brands out there, I have no idea which to choose from!

Niki- I am glad to hear you are feeling better with the new vitamins. I wonder if that is why I never got to sick. When we first started trying my doctor had me try out a bunch and told me to stick with the ones that did not make me sick. So I found Duet DHA and I am thinking that is why I don't get sick. I did get sick Sunday but I think a coughing fit helped that.

It is cool that you are getting things together. I am still too nervous to actually buy anything Since we are having twins we started looking at strollers, and I am so disappointed with what we found so far. We just want an infant stroller that we can put both car seats in, but so far we cannot find anything like that.

twinmom- Maybe since you have been through the twin experience do you have any suggestions on finding things made for twins.

Molly - my sister had twins and we bought her the stroller with the car seats that snap in. Just do a google search online for twin strollers. They are all over the internet.

Niki- Are you talking about the ones that are just basic looking with the medal? We want something that looks like a baby single stroller where you snap in the carseats. I think they are called travel sets.

I am glad to hear everyone is doing well. We had our u/s yesterday after the little bleeding scare but they say it all seems well. The babies(all three are growing, two are the same size, week wise and one is maybe a couple of days behind) They keep saying we will see by week 12, if that last baby makes it. I have hope that things will turn out the way they are suppose too. I have been on bed rest and I am goind crazy. I feel really guilty about not being able to work and sometimes I get a little resentment about it but again things will work out.

Molly did they change your due date? I think they changed mine but with triplets and twins alot can change.

If any of you find cute things for triplets let me know.......I haven't even began to look.

HI girls. How is everyone feeling?

Molly~ I would love to offer some advice when it comes to your purchases for twins. And you are absolutely right about being too many choices. For strollers I have 2. I have the graco duoglide which is one that can snap in the carseats. When they are older you can put them in with no carseats and the seats either sit up or lay flat. It is front to back. I also have a jogger which is the instep. I really love it. It does have the swivel wheel option so you can take it shopping or wherever, but the problem is it is side to side and sometimes is a tight fit through doorways. And I would recommend all you ladies who are having twins to go join the Mother of twins club. It has been a true lifesaver for me. They have a large thrift sale 2 times a year which is great for toys, clothes, all the necessities. They also offer meal deliveries after you deliver and if you are put on bed rest. They have girls night out and playgroups too. It really is a great support for mothers of twins bc you will soon find out that it is hard to compare 2 babies to just 1.

AFM, I had my u/s on Monday. Everything was fine. HB was 178. Measurements were good. I go back in 2 weeks for probably my final u/s with RE. Been feeling pretty good as long as I am eating and snacking often. But I can tell my belly is starting to get bigger. Probably from the "twin skin" I have leftover.....lol

Anyone have appt anytime soon?

I am so sorry you are on bed rest, and I hope you start feeling better soon. Did the doctor tell you where your bleeding came from, and how bed rest would help? They did not change my due date, but my doctor did say twins come early. I am hoping I can hold them until at least 37 weeks.

Is this the stroller you are talking about? If so, I like the reviews, but I think I would have to order it offline, since I have not seen any in the stores.

Your heartbeat sounds great! I hope you are over your MS soon. I get it off and on, but never too bad. Yesterday as I was coming back from lunch I felt really bad for a few minutes, and actually had to sit on the floor of the parking garage until I felt better.

I have an ultrasound next Tuesday, and that will be the last appointment with my RE.

Molly~ That is the stroller I am talking about. You more than likely will have to order in online. It is hard to find things for twins especially in a pattern that you like. I did all of my shopping online from cribs, bedding, carseats, swing, stroller......mainly bc I was on bedrest from 16 weeks to 34 weeks and had no other choice. Target and walmart are great prices and will deliver free if you spend so much. I think I got the carseat, stroller, and pack n plays (all matching) from target. Also for carseats check happymothers.com I ordered the next size carseat from there (Britax) and they have some for twins where you buy 2 and it was sooooo cheap. I lucked out with that. Normally you paid 150 or more for one of those and i got for way less than 150 a piece with free shipping. Some places like babies r us offer discounts for things like carseats, highchair, etc when you have mulitples. Do some research before you buy,

I had my 2nd u/s this morning. Good news & bad news...Good news first the babies look great. So cute like little teddy grahms! Heart rates were 158 & 166. Twin A measured 8w0d & Twin B measured 7w6d. Bad news is my RE found a bleed/clot. It's about the same size as the gestational sacs. She seemed worried & said I could lose the pregnancy. I'm so terrified!! She said it was probably a subchorionic bleed. Hopefully it will either reabsorb on its own or bleed out slowly. If it gets bigger then or tries to come out all at once, I could lose one or both babies. Anyone else ever heard of this?? I've been looking it up on google & everyone says not to worry & that their doctors weren't worried. Why is my RE worried?? I talked to my nurse after the u/s & she said everything would be okay & that my RE just likes to be frank with her patients to prepare them for the worst. I'm on bedrest when I'm not at work. Hopefully everything will be ok! The babies are doing so well, I don't want this stupid bleed to hurt them.

I am having some bleeding as well, the RE said it was from the implantation/placenta not being totally attached yet. They keep cheaking my progesterone levels and I am on bedrest as well. I finally got the ok today to do some light duty. The RE says not to worry about it but who can't just take news like this lightly. All my DH says is not to worry and that the babies look good. I just have some light bleeding so the RE also says as long as it is not heavy we are ok.

Is any one seeing a High Risk OB/GYN for there pregnancy? I was referred to one today.
