First of all--thank you Kelly for your wise words--and for the beta chart info! that really helps...so i will find out on March 27 if it's a oney or a twoey, back in the waiting room  this one isnt nearly as hard me thinks.

Hi Carolyn! Welcome. I wanted to share with you that i am using an ED. I will be 46 when my little one(s) come. this is my first round of IVF. My DH and I thought even with that teeney chance that it could work--we didn't really want to waste the time AND to be candid--money. We really decided to put one fresh round and whatever frozen we could and then "go find something else to do!" if it wasn't successful. It's such a personal choice--and if i was younger I may have been more likely to try for the slim chance of using my own eggs. After one miscarriage at 12 weeks and one at 7 from natural pregnancies--we just wanted to make a little one.

My ED was a first time donor. She is 22. She had 16 eggs retrieved, 12 fertilized, we implanted 2 good quality 5 day blasts and froze 6. I am now 15 days past my reansfer. You can see my beta nums below...looks good so far. I experienced one small time of cramping and teeny spotting the eve after my transfer--which makes me think ONE--my beta could certaibly be one or TWO--which scares the heck out of me

I'm glad you're here Carolyn--and I look forward to journeying with you.

Hi everyone

Thank you for such a warm welcome. It makes such a difference. I am just trying to catch up with everyone so aplogies if I miss out on anyone.....

bonnie - huge congrats to you. Great betas.

Suzanne - twins...very exciting. You got a great response in your last cycle. Lots of frosties ....any tips on how to make the most of our egg quality???? I really noticed a difference when I did fresh cycle aged 37 and 39 (last year). I had no frozen embyros from my last ivf..... Also, thanks for input on the injections, I guess I have to just do it!!!

Sisi1 - I know that waiting to trigger feeling. I feel like I am going to explode so I hope that you get to move to the ER soon

Liam's mommy - Hi to you and thanks for all your tips and advice throughout this forum. I am hoping that my hubby will be around after the er and et for a bit. It is a hard one cos everytime I have gotten pregnant with ivf - I stayed on bedrest for 4 days after et .........so I feel like I am jinking it if I don't (after the FETs I just rested the day of transfer and not much after that)....but this time his work is a big pressure and with the economic climate in ireland it is hard to get much flexibility with work.

AKmon ....hi and thanks for welcome

NY4thtry - your fertility reports looks very good so pg you will get a bunch to freeze. You did the shots too .....so I am feeling more confident about being able to self inject.

Wishful27 - hello to you. I am using my own eggs this time but am very concerned about quality as pre my chat with suzanne above. do you have dates for er yet?

everyone else....hi.

Estrogen still rising nicely at 5944 CAN/1817 US. That appears to indicate I may have 8-10 mature follies by Friday!

 joyanna... the only tip I can provide is my RE's belief that he gets better responses for over 40 and /or poor responders using the ESTROGEN PRIMING PROTOCOL... I don't think it's possible to change the quality of eggs at this point (perhaps future infertility findings will change that!), but I think the thought is that the greater the response to stimulation, the better the chance to retrieve some good eggs (i.e., more eggs = a greater possibilty of some good ones)... does that make sense?

no other tips... I always thought some of it was luck, and if it was meant to happen with my eggs, then so be it... if not, DE and adoptions were fine options as well.

Okay, a couple of announcements first. The group is getting rather large. I will not be including many personals when i post it. I will keep up with them along the way. Also, if we don't hear from you, i will temporarily remove you from the list. When you come back i will gladly add you back on. FYI, for some of the new ladies, I am only including IVF attempts for the baby you are working on presently. Any other info you would like people to know about you can be placed in your signature.

Is there anyway to remove the advertisements when you are reading the posts? They make me nuts.

I will be traveling to St. Louis next week for ER. If you don't hear from me don't worry. I promise i will return.

babyluv, good luck on your beta tomorrow. I rethought adding you to the list and have decided not to because the list is getting so big. Also, i want reserve it for AMA patients, as that was my original intent. But please feel free to post on here whenever you want. We will still support you and welcome your input.

joyanna, i know you have developed a little superstition about BFP as it relates to days of bed rest following ET. However, many people don't rest at all after ET and are successful. Most rest for a day at the most. IF you transfer a healthy embryo you will get pregnant. Try not to worry about that. I know, easier said than done.

wishful27
, you are not alone. You will be the 4th lady using DE in the group. I don't recommend transferring 3 or you may end up like Elida did.

Natashamom, i just wanted to tell you that i am sorry for your loss. I saw it posted elsewhere.

kat, what's up?

Lynnnie, what's new?

NJ, i can't wait to see how you respond to meds. You should up an running in a couple of weeks or so. I bet you are getting very excited.

Biddy, any news on your beta?

Tammy, did you start femara on day 3?

Sisi, what time is your ER on Friday?

Santa, any concrete plans?

Bonnie
and Sue, you have your first US on the same day. How exciting!!

NY, your results are fantastic!!!! Your time has come. I just know it. By the way, did you use a different protocol this time?

carolyn, that is an amazing story. Yep, i would say it was meant to be.

Kat, i will try to think of some. But it is hard to think of questions for somebody else. Is it your new RE or is it your WTF meeting with the old RE?

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself.

Am new to this site but sadly not new to IVF as you can see from my signature.

Have just started yet another cycle and am on day 3 of FSH. Names of drugs and levels are very different between Australia and the States..so I hope you can be patient with me.

Have joined this site to learn. If my cycle fails, I think I am going to get on a plane and try the States. I don't think there is much difference between protocols.. but I do think your Labs are far more advanced - and truly believe this is where all the action is - so to speak.

Please give me a little time to get to know you all.

Wishing you all the best of luck..
