Yikes...this group is getting rather large. A BIG hello to everyone. Happy Spring!! I went and had my ultrasound this morning. My doc said all my tests are looking good. FSH 6.6, E2 81, Lining around 11. He said I may not need another u/s cause it looks like I released an egg already this month. We waiting on today's labs to see. So I guess it's almost showtime!!!!!

9 Eggs retrieved this morning, Dr recommended ICSI for all to ensure as many fertilized as possible.

One minor complication, the reason I was getting so uncomfortable was that my ovary had traveled on top of my uturus and was causing pressure. The nurse had to press very hard with both hands for the Dr to be able to reach it, this made it much more painful then the other side but still no biggie.

Gosh, I can't wait for my fertilization report, soo hoping for 6-8  so a couple can make it to day 5, Wednesday.

I feel such a relief of having all this pressure out of my ovaries, it feels great!

NY, I am so happy for you. I am sure your CGH will reveal some wonderful healthy embies to transfer. Donna had her FET on Thursday, all expanded blast and 1 was hatching. She is resting and I am sure would love to hear from you.

First i have an idea. What do you guys think about closing this thread and making a part 2 thread for the buddy group. That way all of us that are still posting can reintroduce ourselves to the newer ladies. It will help us all i think. The group has gotten big so i think it might be time to start over. What do you guys think. I any comments, suggestions would be appreciated.

Sisi, that is awesome news!!! FX for a fantastic fertilization rate to go with it.

Elida, how are you and the triplets?

NJ, any day now you will officially on the IVF ride.

MsPink, welcome. I am sorry you have had such an long journey. Hopefully this will be it for you. I was wondering if you have been evaluated for immune/clotting disorders that could be contributing to the failed treatment? Also, estrogen priming is what many of us are doing as part of our protocols.

There are many versions of it. I use it as part of a antagonist/ganirelex protocol. You prime with straight estrogen before your start your stims, etc. In my case, this cycle i was on estrace 4mg for about 6 weeks. I then added provera to the estrogen for 10 days then stopped both, have your period and proceed with the rest of your protocol. I primed for about 4 weeks for my first ER and 6 for this one. I have 10 baseline follies this time vs. 4 last time. Exposure to the estrogen up-regulates you receptors on your follicles to FSH. It does this by inhibiting normal FSH production. Therefore, your follies have no exposure to FSH for a period of time. When you hit them with stims they respond with much greater sensitivity to it. So you get a better response.

It is what most REs are using with AMA patients in the US. It also, hold all of the developing follies back. As new ones start their normal maturation they are stalled out. They kind of accumulate in a cluster and should all in better synchronization. Not as many trouble with lead follies etc. That is pretty much it but others will probably add to it. I am in a hurry. Not going to proof read it. It you have an questions i will do my best to explain better later.

I will add you to the list soon. I want to get to get input on how we should proceed with the thread.

Kelly

 Lulu (MsPink)... Kelly did a better job detailing the estrogen priming protocol than I EVER could, so I'll leave it in her hands (good hands)... my actual dosages, etc., were different, but the overall goal is the same... I can't remember off-hand my protocol exactly, but it was definitely a bit different... I would guess that it is tweaked according to the individual, as well as the RE's preferences/practices.

 Kelly... your knowledge continues to amaze me... you're a wonderful resource for all of us... a new thread is fine - if it will help to consolidate things and re-introduce, it sounds like a good idea... I was thinking, too, can we note somewhere the women who already have biological children?... going forward, it might be helpful for us potential newbies re: questions further out (e.g. birth, post-partum, etc.)... just a thought... and adoptive moms are a get resource, too... any mom knows more than me :)

 Sisi... CONGRATS... very excited for you.

 Sharon... sounds like things are moving along... keep us updated.

 everyone I missed... hi, hope you're well and thinking of you.

Kelly - thanks so much for the explanation. I have already emailed it off to my RE to ask him about it. You are a mine of information..
I have been tested for NK cells (natural killer) and am negative. They did find I do have the MTHFR (yes you can imagine what I call it..) gene. Just means I have to take a higher dose of Folate as my body doesn't process it efficiently and also have Clexane needles (anti clotting) after ER to ensure a smooth lining just incase of some clotting.

Suzanne - thanks again..

I'll update my signature later, but I forgot to post the new stats on the squirts... their heartbeats were again in the 180's and their CRL measurements were 3.12cm and 3.28cm... my Progesterone continues to be > 40, so I'm doing ok on my own (without the shots, thankfully)... the beta number (I'll post later, it's in a notebook in my car) is beginning to level off, but the nurse said that is normal for this stage of the pregnancy (9w 2d at the time)... she also mentioned that the number may begin to drop, too... I guess they monitor the fetus (or fetuses) by the ultrasound results going forward...

speaking of which, my first OB/GYN appointment is on 04/01/09, and they're doing the NT scan on that day as well... I'm nervous, understandably, and just praying that my good fortune continues... please keep the babies in your prayers... I'd appreciate it :)

hope you're well and enjoying the first spring weekend (in the States, i.e.)... we have Lulu in Australia, and who else did I miss outside of the U.S.?

Only 5 of my eggs were fertilized, the nurse said the others were not mature.

I am quite bummed as I had really hoped for a more reassuring number of embryos. We are expecting at least half of those to stop developing by Wednesday so now I am just hoping and praying 2 will make it!

sisi1....5 is a GREAT number!!! and there is no saying that all 5 won't make it! I had 7 retrieved, 5 of which were fertilized and all 5 made it...two went in me and 3 are frozen so don't get down about it. Ok? Think positive and wait to see what tomorrow brings...in the meantime, have a drink while you can!!!!!! Ha!

OMG how do you guys get through these days?

I feel like I never gave it much thought, hardly believed I would get this far!

Todays news is good, all 5 embryos are still looking good, the nurse told me it was normal to loose 1-2 per day.

Each day I have 5 in the game is a true blessing that I am thankful for beyond words!

Thanks for hanging in with me, I really appreciate all of your support.

Gonna try find something else to to besides praying.....

PS; still having some difficulties with first morning urination, does that sound familiar for anyone?
