Cymplicity- looks like this is your week, make sure you let us know, but sounds like you are right on track. Still a little chilly up here in ct, but it is supposed to be around 50 for most of the week.

kimbob- whew! Thank you for clarifying that kline was referring to mother's day in the uk! I got scared, like, oh my goodness, did I forget, and did everyone else forget that it's my first mother's day! But then I quickly came to my senses and realized we have UK and US people here and it may be different. I still have 2 months until my special day, but as far as i'm concerned everyday is mother's day!

Ella's swim lesson did not go well yesterday, but thanks for asking. I chose not to get in the pool again b/c RE said no swimming for 2 weeks after surgery. I fully intended on ignoring his advice and getting in this week since it has been 9 days, but then this weird bleeding showed up and I will listen to the advice of nothing in my private area for 2 weeks- so no tampons. So I had my sister in law swim, and ella cried the whole time. I had to take her out after about 10-15 minutes. I sure hope she has more fun with me next week.

carolyn- I think I have determined it is af, but man, is it lighter than I have ever seen it in my life! The bleeding was a tiny bit redder today and maybe flowing more. I will call clinic in the morning and hopefully everything is still on track. So happy to hear your af is here. That is so awesome the ed's ER is on your wedding anniversary. Must be a lucky day!

hjw- I noticed a lot of people are missing too, hope everything is well with them. Praying april 2nd comes quick for you so you can get on with the next phase. I know it seems far away, but april is right around the corner. I felt like we had a lot of people cycling now and I wouldn't have anyone still with me in a month, but I looked at the tracker and it looks like we have a fairly large second round coming up for april too.

kline- thank you for your kind thoughts about mother's day...and a happy UK mother's day. Hopefully, by the US mother's day, we will all be moms-to-be!

ok...off to do more wedding shower planning. I am throwing one for my future sister in law from out of state, and I just realized it is in less than 2 months and we haven't done anything yet! Talk to you all soon!

Hello... hello Ladies!!!

I'm so happy to be writing in this forum now. On March 18 I was in the ER for my ectopic surgery, I had a sucking experience in the hospital, the only thing i can say is I was in a room with 20 pregnant women in process to deliver a babies and I saw everything...yes everything!!!   (I was with bad lower pain and the closest one was a government hospital, my life was in the edge with no time to go my clinic)

The news after the painful post laparotomy surgery was that the embryo was not implanted in my tube, it was implanted in my intestine...yes i was asking the same questions how? and why?....

I got discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon, I never saw the first day of spring so beautiful like yesterday...I'm a life!!!

I have to be in bed (again!!) for 4 to 6 weeks...nice!!, but next Friday i will be back to the hospital to remove my stitches and i will ask to the Dr. my risk of trying IVF again, (one Dr. told me if i do it again i can die if i get pregnant) I know i have to wait a year or two because of my laparotomy surgery, but i know some women get pregnant a few months after they gave birth with c section...i don't know I'm so confuse..but i will look for hope..even my baby sister offer me her uterus for my embryo...she made me cry...

Melanie -Sorry about your results, but you have a great opportunity with your frostiest. I have a close friend that didn’t work out her first IVF also, but her Dr gave her shots of Heparin with baby aspirin in her second IVF and she had 2 gorgeous babies...I think your Dr will adjust your meds for second IVF and you will have a gorgeous baby or babies!!!!

Cheers! Sara30 and hjw - I’m glad you like Melanie’s lift up song...I love that song and went I’m feeling blue I play it over and over...it really give good vibes.

Cymplicity27, Michele, Latinosunshine, Sbr and Kimbob - Thank you..Thank you for your support...

Hello everyone . . . just been catching up on the goings ons around here. Lots of activity!

My doc was able to retrieve 12 eggs last Friday. Of those, 5 fertilized as of the report latter that day. Of course, we were hoping for more. Now I am just hoping all of those stay strong for a day 3 transfer, and chances are that it will be day three (tomorrow) given how few there are. We went back and forth last night trying to figure out the pluses and minuses of a day 3 vs. a day 5 transfer. I guess every doctor or clinic has its own protocol for making the determination. I was hoping for enough embryos for a day 5, which would give us the longest time to assess the viability of the embryos, but our clinic doesn't do that if there are less than 6 to work with. On the upside, by doing a day 3 we may have some surplus to freeze for another try down the line. Or course, my central concern is that the embryos we have are strong and viable!! I guess a lot of you must have gone through this.

Latie, I know what you are going through. We just started injections for our fifth IVF with ICSI yesterday. Our first time in 2004 produced our amazing daughter. The subsequent times have been a field trip of failures, from flat out no's to miscarriage and an ectopic pregancy. I think having 3 embryos is awesome. It only takes one! We only had two during our first IVF, and that worked famously! I wish your family all the best on your journey. :D [/b]

Sisi1 -- sounds like we're in a similar boat. 5 fertilized eggs, now waiting and hoping they're strong and sturdy for transfer. I am sending you my very best wishes!!!

Wintergirl -- wow, you have navigated a really long journey. I admire your courage! And, it is heartening to know that it can work with just two embryos!

This is just our first time, but I'm not sure we'll be able to do it again so a lot is riding on this. But my belief is strengthened that with 5 embryos, it is possible to have a happy ending to this story.

Good morning ladies,

Babyluv, good luck with your check up on the 26th. Will they be doing a scan? I'm hoping for lots of follies with great eggs for you!

Lee I am sorry that you had to endure a BFN. I hope that it's just too early. When I use the pregnancy claculator on this site and it tells me i'm only 3 weeks and few days, that just makes me think it's too early for BFP and so I am avoiding the HPTs because I don't think I could handle a BFN. My heart goes out to you - but I have to encourage you to keep up the PMA - it could just be too early, you would still be less than 4 weeks pregnent, right? That's awfully soon for an HPT, don't you think? Stranger things have happened! I'm still sending you loads of sticky baby dust!! :D :D

Latie and Sisi I'm envious of your five embies!! I'm thinking of your little embies everyday and willing them to grow, grow, grow!!!
Good luck!!

wintergirl welcome! Are you doing a new cycle right now? That's great that you have a DD from your first try. I hope you have success again this time. It seem like you've been through enough of the rough stuff by now!! There are a few other ladies with one IVF baby already who are currently going for number two. You should join us!

Babymex Oh my goodness! That's unbelieveable! I hope that the doc can answer all of your questions and hopefully he'll have good news for you. I'm thinking of you. Good luck!! :D I hope that the 4-6 weeks of bedrest do your bosy a world of good and that you do not go too crazy being stuck in bed! Keep us posted.

Michele Sorry that Ella did not have such a good time on Saturday. I'm sure she'll be better when you're there! Good luck the the wedding shower! Oh - and still doing the AF dance for you, just in case!

Cynthia Sounds like you are right on track! That's very exciting! I'm glad you ahve a great weekend - we finally had some of that nice wether here, too - it was marvelous! Good luck on Tuesday - I can't wait to hear about your trigger!

Carolyn That's great news about AF! How are the tablets going? That is just do great that you get to 'make a baby' for your anniversary! That has to be a good omen!! So I guess that means that you will enjoy a romantic get-away for your anniversary, too! Lucky girl! :D

Happy Monday! I am back to work for the first time in almost 2 weeks! I meant to get there early, but now I've gone and done a big post so I'm behind already! Silly me!!

Take care, Kim

New to IVF

Post by Hopeful57 »

Good Morning. I am new to this message board and IVF. My husband and I have been trying for 7 years with no luck. About four yrs ago we did two inseminations with no results. I have a low egg count and he is fine. We began our IVF adventure on 3/21 with stims. So far I don't feel anything. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. The last time I had shots (different meds) I hurt really bad. Tomorrow I go back to the dr to see if I should increase the amounts. I'm taking Lupron, Follistem and Menopur. They told us last Friday they are going to do ICSI with 1/2. My biggest concern is not having enough eggs. If all goes well they'll do the transfer sometime the week of March 30th. For now I'm doing as told and praying a lot. I'm very glad to have found this board. I love reading all the posts. Good luck ladies.

Good Morning Ladies!

Hopeful57- welcome to the boards, you will love it here and it will help you get through this crazy process. I did not ever use lupron, but I used follistim and menopur last time (success) and will be doing again this time, so hopefully it works for you too. I will add you to our tracker and we will all help you through this time...feel free to ask any questions you may have.

kimbob- thanks for the dance...it is definitely af, she showed her true colors yesterday afternoon and no questions now...I know she is here. I called clinic this morning and they want to see me this afternoon for u/s and bw. My guess is I will start bcp's tonight or tomorrow. How is the 2ww going for you? When is your beta? Should be coming soon right?

babyluv- I hope they see lots of follies for you...grow follies grow! How are the stims this time?

lee- sorry to hear about the hpt...but you already know what we are going to tell you...nothing official until beta, so try to stay positive. You are still 3 days away and even if it were positive around this time last time, everytime is different. Remember, my hpt was not even faintly positive until the afternoon before my scheduled beta.

latie- it is more than possible with 5 embies...I am proof. On day 2 or 3 of growing I also had 5, and on 3dt, I had 4, they put back 2 on day 3 and it worked...so just keep up the pma...anything is possible.

wintergirl- you said you are on ivf #5, and your first time worked and you got dd, so did you have failed tries after that? I had dd 6 months ago and I am trying for #2 now, and I have seen a lot of cases where it is successful first try an dthen people have many failed attempts. I would have thought it was the other way around, if you were successful first try, then shouldn't they know what works for you and it would be more likely to work again? I sure hope that is the case with me.

babymex- oh my! I can not believe it was in your intestine...is that even possible??? I have never heard of that before...and I am so sorry the surgery was painful and now you have so much bed rest. I do hope you can try again, but you need to get some rest and make sure you are in the best condition possible. I hope you get good news from the docs and keep us updated. How nice of your sister to offer her uterus, that is someone who truly loves you...

ok, so I will go to the clinic this afternoon, and I am sure there will not be anything interesting to report. Does anyone know why they want to see you during period before starting bcp's? I have heard some people talk about early or preliminary follies at these scans, is that what they are doing? They never tell me anything like that, maybe I should ask. I also wonder why they are doing this again today when I had it done with my last period. This is not the saline u/s that identified the polyp before, I figured they may want to repeat that, but no mention of that yet. So I will of course let you all know how it goes.

Talk to you soon.

Hi Everyone!
I'm still waiting for my af? lol But if I'm so nervous just waiting for that, I don't want to imagine the 2ww, as I see pp here in that situation. :?

Hi Ladies, woooooohooooooooooooo I get to start stims today :D :D , I went in for my baseline u/s and everything looked good. Going for another u/s on Saturday with an estimated ER next Thurs/Fri?

Michele- I'm glad your MIL is doing much better, thats great news :D, GL on your appt. today , not sure why they would do an u/s now, I never had it when i started BCP, maybe it has something to do with the polyp? Let us know how it goes

latinosunshine- I've been doing lupron for a week now and OMG its got old very quickly lol now I'm adding Follistim on top of that and I'm sure by the time I'm done I won't want to see it again for a while lol

Hi,

On CTMichelle's invite I'm posting here- Is anyone cycling in April for IUI, or is everyone pretty much IVF???

It will be our 2nd try & DH has morphology issues (0% normal last time) :(

Looking for that emotional boost to get me through to CD 3 u/s to ensure there's no residual cysts from this cycle.

Thanks again for the invite.

Sticky baby dust to everyone!
