Elida: Great to hear that you and your girls are doing well.

As for me, I got the results of my Cycle day 3 FSH and Estradiol.
The FSH = 8.9 and Estradiol is 29. My Ob/Gyn was very encouraged.
I guess I will take the Femara with my next cycle in April.

Regards,
Tammy

Ok, I am lot calmer now :D , still have 5 embryos in the works.

Now I am starting to think things may all work out

No more updates until Wednesday, transfer day.....

I can hardly belive I had 5 viable eggs at my age, I guess egg quality was not my big issue?

sisi1 - that is just great news.

Do you mind me asking if you did anything different this time round? Sorry if you have covered this in a previous area of the forum and I am asking you to repeat yourself.......... I am really curious as I am heading towards stims (fingers crossed) starting on 9 April and I am just thinking that I would have liked my RE to change the protocol from last time (I had 12 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilised, 2 made it to d5 blasts, no frozen). The only change he has made is including steroids. Thanks in advance.

HI Sharon, Tammy,

Thanks for the well wishes.

Tammy I am very happy to hear you will be in the April cycle, it is just around the corner. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful cycle.

Sharon 3 follies without stims is a good number, what protocol do you want to use for your next cycle? We are not spring chickens and need all the help releasing those follies as we can get. I am with you. Stand your ground!!!

This is my first (only) IVF so I had only one previous cycle that got cancelled due to oversuppression of Lupron. This time around I did the antagonistic with out B/C. There was one point early on when my Dr. thought she might have to cancel me again (because my E2 started levelling off because ganirelix was introduced very early on (day 4 of stimms) cause I had one lead follie that was 1,2) but I did everything possible to increase my E2 (acupunture and diet adjustments 3 months prior) and prayed an aweful lot!

I don't really have any fancy info on my embryo report, they just keep telling me it all looks great.....whatever that means!

 Bonnie... thanks, your post made me laugh... I was pretty clueless re: numbers going into it, although I do recall the RE saying that he'd be happy with high single digits... so I was hoping 7-8 eggs would be retrieved and was SHOCKED when I awoke to 12!... looking forward to finding out your Friday results.

 Elida... nice to read about your triplets... I'm so curious about the gender of the twins, but it's too soon... I suppose if I do CVS in the next couple of weeks, I'll find out then... hope everything continues to progress smoothly for you and the girls.

 Sisi... I'm glad your results are looking good, I mean EXCELLENT!... I know you were nervous, and see, it's going to be fine... I just know it.

 Tammy... happy to read your results as well.

hi everyone else...

Hello everyone, and welcome to the new joiners. I have taken some time out since my chemical pregnancy. We have an appointment with RE this Friday to discuss next cycle.

NY - that is an awesome report! have you always had so many follies and embies to work with?

Kelly, how are you doing?

I was only ever to get 4 mature eggs with my previous 2 IVF, so I am focussed on anything that would help me with better egg production! I am going to ask my RE about estrogen priming protocol. However, given that they got me pregnant twice (miscarriage both times) I fear that they will just want to stick to the same protocol.

xx

Congrats SISI and NY.

I will catch up with everybody on Wednesday. My cycle is way different this time. I have to fly to ST. Louis in the early a.m. for follie scan. My dad has to come spend the night to take care of Liam. My house is a wreck. I have been trying to make travel plans and clean house like a mad woman. My husband is pissed because it is going to cost $800. BLAH, BLAH, BlAH. I just wanted you all to know i am alive and well.

Hugs, Kelly

KELLY

Super support to deal with DH's spending worries, mine is the same and I have kind of broken it down in steps for him. I swear I though he was going to get upset at me buying some progesterone at ER, LOL.

Just wait until he learns he will have to pay $650 for our frosties!

Oh well, what can you do?

Hi Ladies,

I had a longggg chat with with my 45yr old pregnant friend (twins) today in the States.

The 2 clinics she has recommended to me are Cornell in NY and Colorado Reproductive center in Denver. Been studying the sites. Both look good. Would prefer to be in NY as I have friends there.. but have to be realistic and think accomodation etc Denver will be cheaper for me. I'll have to be there for weeks as I'll be travelling from Sydney.

I will still do phone consultations with both but was wondering if anyone has any thoughts, suggestions or knows - hopefully used these clinics etc.

It is hard doing it from here. Both of them are using really advance technology which we just don't have here yet..

Thanks..

 i will probably never go through ivf again (Lord willing that this round is a go) since i will be 46 when this one(s) is/are born. that should pretty well eat my lunch for a season.

but i would find a discussion of clincs very fascinating. i chose my clinic due to a donor--but found them to be pretty affordable and with a good success rate. They are also a very advanced clinic doing pgd for many years (which i didnt need). They are the fertility center of sarasota, dr. pabon. I am in virginia--so i travelled to them as did my dh--but we only went once--and coordinated all the US and bloodwork through a local clinic. if you google search them--their rates are on their website. They dont do a "baby guarantee" they just do one cycle at a time. We knew we did not want to go through multiple cycles--win lose or draw--we were willing to do a fresh and whatever frozen resulted and call it quits if we werent successful. very personal decisions!

Most of the clincs in my area (DC--Northern VA) do the "baby guarantee" where you are going to pay 50-60K for 6 cycles (plus meds, donor fees, freezing, etc.) and at the end you would get back a portion if you are not successful.

I have looked a bit at the program in the Czech Republic and it looks SO much more affordable. I know we have someone on our list using them as well.

I am looking forward to hearing about differnt programs. There is quite a variance in cost and success rates. i know it's hard to compare in some ways--but they all must get women with certain challenges and AMA...?

  ALSO--KELLY! I have been meaning to respond to your suggestion about starting over with our stories so that all of us new to the list could become more familiar with each other. I would love that--it would help me to get a better grip on everyone and to pray more.

Thanks all! Spring is here in Virginia! :)
