cymplicity, you have so much going on and I think the last thing you need to worry about is a little bit of blood back in the vial. I've never experienced it, but I'm sure you're not the first! Do keep watch of the OHSS stuff because it is very dangerous and very unpleasant. I've told my story several times on here, but I cringe thinking of others going through what I did--8 days of hospitalization. The very good thing that came from it was my little son, but it's nothing I'd want anyone to endure. So, if the docs say you should wait, trust them...they know what they're doing! An FET is easier than the fresh cycle. I'm going through that now, and I'm so thankful I can take this route for now rather than another fresh cycle. Hang in there! And hopefully everything will go as planned and you'll only suffer minor OHSS!

CT_michele
, YES! We do seem to have a lot in common! What do you teach? You've got a lot going on with your MIL. I hope that she'll embrace her treatments and make some positive strides. A young baby, more IVF, family issues--you sound like super woman! Is your DH pretty supportive? And I'll reiterate what everyone has been saying--thank you thank you thank you for keeping the March/April gals updated!!

Kline, hang in there. If your doctors are saying your symptoms are normal, then believe them! I always have to remind myself that they're the experts!! Do keep hydrated! That's always good.

Sari, I'm so happy the missing ovary was found. I had that happen once too. It's extremely puzzling and frustrating. At least it reappeared now that you're making follicles!!

The rest of you gals---thinking of you. We're all so busy trying to make a baby. Too bad it's not a little more fun! All those lucky gals out there that just get to have sex!! Man, look what they're missing out on...hormonal imbalances, shots, bloating, big ovaries, minor surgeries....they're really missing out!!! At least we're all banded together!

AFM, still "thickening"! My estrogen dosage is increasing daily. I have my u/s on Thursday. I'll keep you all posted!

cymplicity- I am sure the little bit of blood is nothing to worry about. I hope the ohhs symptoms stay away and you get to continue as planned, keep us updated.

sbr- I am certified to teach elementary school (k-6) and I am about to earn my second certificate to teach middle school math. I just need to finish my classes this semester and pass the state test and of course pay for the piece of paper. I hope to be teaching middle school math when I do decide to go back to teaching. I am also just 2 classes away from my masters degree in elementary education. I love teaching, I have wanted to be one since I was old enough to talk, but of course now I am torn because I just want to stay home with my baby. So I will try to stay out as long as I financially can and then add a few years to the end of my career.

dh is very supportive. We are 100% a team in everything we do, almost never argue or fight and agree about almost everything. He is my perfect match and a wonderful man. He is a manager at a residential group home for adults with autism, so he is in social services as well and has a good temperament. I like to think that people who work in social services are generally good hearted people, I mean, obviously we didn't choose our fields for the money!

And the balancing act of my schedule...it is a bit much, and I don't know how it happened again, I swore I would not overwhelm myself, but that's just the way it is. And mil is the least of my family issues...my brother is getting married out of state in July and dh and I are in the wedding and let's just say calling his future wife a bridezilla would be putting it nice. I can't even go into detail b/c my blood pressure would go up...just trust me when I say that some of the things she has done would make your jaw drop to the floor! (so much drama!) I just try to ignore it all and remember what is important about life...

and blah blah blah...enough about me, right?

Ok, now I am really signing off for the night...talk to you all tomorrow

 SBR- What day of your menstrual cycle will you have your FET, and is it considered a day 3 or 5 day transfer?
My Doc is shooting for doing my FET on CD 25 (for day 5 transfer) which seems very late to me, but this is my first FET. Wanted to compare notes.
I didn't do lupron since I just came off a fresh IVF with BFN (My first IVF).
I am doing Estrace and then PIO later on, with Medrol and tetracycline around time of FET.... OH yeah and my favorite- VALIUM
Good luck to you, Thanks Melanie

I am March/April

Post by sherrilynn75 »

Hi Carolyn-

I am March/April. I started my lupron today. While you are on your 3rd (and an expert by now I'm sure, all of this is such a science and so overwhelming), this is our first IVF and hoping to be our last. We had two cancelled IUI cycles due to my overstim and producing too many eggs for the comfort of our specialist.

This will be an interesting journey over the next several weeks, but nonetheless, one we are very excited about :D

I am double, triple praying for you that this cycle works for you!!! Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi ladies,

Well its a BFN for me again, and thats me off the roller coaster now, 7 years trying is enough for us so we are going to call it a day. We are going to take some time for ourselves, our foster child goes home on sat as well which is good timing so we are not having any other children for a while and decide what we want to do next.

I wish all you ladies all the luck in the world, it has been fun cycling with you and the support given on here is fab, I will look in from time to time to see how you are all doing.

Take care

Lee, so sorry about your BFN :( Time off for yourselves sounds like the best plan to me. Take care and I wish you all the best!!

Sarah, I do recall your horror story about OHSS and 8 days in the hospital :? That's definitely not where I want to be! I'll definitely do whatever the docs suggest. I'm still feeling fine after the trigger last night so, so far so good. I think RE was just being overly cautious. She even explained that she's had people come through with much higher E2 levels (9,000) and turned out fine and others with lower numbers that that experience severe OHSS. So it sounds like a crapshoot to me :?

Anyway, I'm excited about ER tomorrow!! I go in first thing at 7:30 so I don't have all day to think about it at least. You ladies have a lovely day :D

What are the OHSS symptoms? I have been eating lots of protein and gatorade but dont really know the signs to look for.

Anybody had Assisted Hatching done. I only meet the age criteria but its only $300. We are wondering if its worth it.

latino- I don't know anything about ohss or assisted hatching, wish I could help, but I am sure there are many lovely ladies here that can.

cymplicity- yay! ER tomorrow. You will have to let us know how it went when you feel up to it...good luck...

babyluv- praying for your dozen for you...

sherrilynn- welcome to the boards...you will find all the support you need to make it through this first ivf. Where are you from? Do you know any of your expected dates, like starting stims, ER or ET? If you do, and youw ould like, I can add you to our tracker so everyone can keep up with your progress. Sorry to hear about your cancelled cycles, and hopefully this will work for you.

tabatha-I do not remember ovidrel making my stomach sick, but I am sure it affects everyone differently. Good luck with your ER tomorrow too!

afm- still waiting for phone calls and clearance, as usual. My blood pressure is actually lower this morning than it has probably been in 2 years, so I don't know what the problem is. I have really taken great precautions, my diet is so healthy I call it all "rabbit food." Just imagine eating foods that all have no flavor because they are all lacking salt, very bland, but it needs to be done. I am actually going to eat my morning kashi...ugh, how I miss french toast and pancakes and bacon/egg/and cheese sandwiches... :(

Lee- I just wanted to say a few things to you...

I am so sorry to read about your bfn. I had really hoped it would work for you this time. You have been such a support for so many people on these boards and have endured so much heartache over the years. We were all touched by the heartwarming story of you and your sister and had really hoped for a different outcome. It is amazing the bonds you build with people here, and when people like yourself receive less than great news, we all feel it. Taking some time off to reflect and think about your next move will probably be a good thing right now, and just know that all of your cyber friends here will be here to support you in anyway we can. My thoughts are with you and dh and hope the best for you in the future.

Hi :D

Sara30- I'm so sorry for your BFN  my heart goes out to you. I'm glad you'r taking some time off for you and your dh. I'm wishing you the best in whatever you decide.

latinosunshine- most common symptom of OHSS is rapid weight gain (2-3 lbs a day) and swelling (from the water gain), not sure of any other signs but i'm sure you can google it and find out. As far as the assisted hatching, I didnt have it done but I pre paid for it "just in case I needed it" My doc said its very unlikely I'll need it because I'm young but I decided to pre pay for it anyway. They basically scrape off a little on the side of the embryo to help with implantation but they only do it if the outer shell of the embryo is hard. So if you need it I would say go for it, if you dont need it they will refund your money anyway (at least they did for me)

cymplicity27- GL at your ER, hope everything goes smooth, let us know how many eggs you get :)

babyluv123- GL on your scan hopefully you'll see you dozen :)

Michele- hopefully they'll call you today, we dont want your BP to go up again :? , hopefully you'll get the go ahead today! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

AFM today is D3 of my stims I feel fine I go in for b/w tomorrow and u/s on saturday.

Hope everyone else is doing good.

g2g back to work

latino my RE told me to specifically watch for rapid weight gain, decreased urinary frequency (or a hard time going) and urine the color of tea. The other major things are severe pain, nausea/vomitting which I'm sure you'd notice right away anyway.
