I just talked to my RE and realized the nurse read the beta number wrong.

So my 20dt5dt beta was 13,900

I called him because I had a few drops of dark red blood followed by a very small amount of brownish blood. He said in all liklihood it is due to FAST GROWTH--that he sees this type of thing if the placenta is developing quickly. It has stopped--so I am relieved.

He is a super funny and charming guy--which is nice especially when i am often freaked out about one thing or another--he always gets me laughing!

HEY--where is everybody this day? :?:

yes Suzanne, it is equivalent to 25 dp ER...

We are going to need a BUS to haul all these kids around! My DH is guardedly excited--and I am too. Yes--Friday will be a welcomed day!

Evening ladies - I know I said I would catch up over weekend - heyo where does the time go !!

Tammy - don;t kmow much about the levels as my RE has never discussed mine with me - but sounds as though yours was pleased - are you cycling in April then ??

Sisi - good luck for ET tomorrow - have you decided how many you will transfer ??

Joyanna - yeh someone from the same side of the Atlantic as me !!! I am doing IVF with ED and my Re has told me to take steriods too - apparently it helps stop the rejection of the embryo - good luck - not long till stimming x

Elida - congratulations on your BFP and triplet girls - poor DH with all the hormones that will be raging in your house  - out of interest how many embryos did you transfer ?

Bonnie - there has to be more than one in there with that Beta   - good luck for friday x

santa - sorry to hear about your recent chemical - glad to hear you are getting sorted to cycle again though x

kelly - thinking of you and your additional stress - I always say to DH they mess will still be there tom ! Good luck for your follie scan x

Lulu - I am from Uk and having treatment in chezch republic - cliinc is very effieicent and speak excellent english and the costs are low too - even taking into account flights and accommodation - if you want to know any more detail just ask!!

Hope I have not missed anyone out - went back as far as topic review would let me!!!

AFM - AF arrived on saturday and am now taking my cocktail of pills - no needles for this girlie - just waiting for ED to get her Af and then should get estimated ET date - looking around 10th April hopefully!!

I like the idea of everyone reintroducing themselves - then I can get to know you wonderful ladies a little better.

take care

Hi ladies -

I've been off the board for a while because my daughter is in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery. She comes home tomorrow (yea!) and it will be nice to have her back. She's doing really well, but she's been in a week so our lives have been at a standstill (this was all planned, but still). I'm ready for March to be over!

Just wanted to report that it is a BFN for me. Due to our poor embryo quality, we're done with the IVF which is a relief. Sad it didn't work, but still a relief. We thought we would adopt again even if I had gotten pregnant, so it looks like we'll go ahead with that plan...just need to figure out there where and when. Not exactly something you rush into!

Good luck to you all!! Bonnie, I'm pulling for twins! That would be FABULOUS!

Dear babyluv,

Whew--you have been through a lot--and I am grateful your daughter's surgery is behind you.

You know how much I celebrate your decision to adopt again. We have put "feelers" out over this past year...a friend of mine--a young woman who was pulled out of Rwanda during the genocide--has now returned to open up Rwandan adoption to the US! I think the Ethiopia system is pretty good also. My hear is still in China--but the law isnt with me there. Although--there are exceptions for special needs--which candidly arent always all that big of a deal.

I am so sorry that this round didnt work. I will look forward to seeing what MORE God does in your life for his orphans! Please keep us posted if you can.

Okay, i think we should close this thread and start over with a PART 2. This is my idea. I have seen it done like this before. Everybody pm me what they want in their BIO. Age, IF issues, number of previous children, number ivf attempts for them and at what age, # of attempts for this baby. Be complete but concise. Then i will copy and post them all together as an intro to the thread.

I will also include a section for out successes to date. I will keep the success updates current on the original post. We will respond to you lucky ladies about your updates in the thread as usual. But your list will be in the original post and i will update on occasion like i do the regular list. I will also start a list of our babies to go below that once we start having them.

In the recurring updates, i will have the rest of us that are still trying via what ever means we are using currently.

If this sounds good to you guys i will get to work on it next week. We drive to St. Louis tomorrow for ER on Friday. I will be very busy until then.

Renee, got her first pick on base assignments. They will be moving to a base near Seattle. So if any of you are near there you may pm her. As you know she is very busy trying to sell her condo in Hawaii and get packed for the upcoming move. All the while she is being a single parent as her husband is in the military. Thanks again, to you and your husband, for the sacrifices you make to keep the rest of us safe. That goes for everybody else who has been in or is in the military.

Tammy, i am so glad your DH is okaky. I bet the prostate biopsy was a lot of fun. YIKES!! Congrats on your great lab results.

Sisi, good luck today!!!!!!! I can't wait for an update.

Carolyn, when are you guys leaving for Prague? How exciting!!!

babyluv, what a blessing your darling daughter is well and will be home tomorrow. i am sorry the cycle didn't work. But i know a little loving from those little ones will make it all better. I can't believe you were doing ivf at the same time your DD was having surgery. Was her surgery emergent? Please keep us updated on your little one and on the adoption progresses.

Elida, glad the girls are doing great! How are your preparations coming?

NY, we have a CGH buddy group going on the SIRM site. It is not nearly as large as this group but it nice because you are not waiting it out alone.

Lulu, i don't think you could go wrong either place. They are both top tier clinics. Go to the Colorado board on IVF Connections. There are many, many women from CCRM that are very active posters on that site. You can also go to the NY board at talk with the girls using Cornell. I think you will get all the info you need on that site to make your decision.

Santa, i hope you are feeling a little better. Let us know what the doc has to say Friday.

Kat, i hope you are feeling a littler better too. Please update us after your WTF meeting Sat.

nj, i would do conventional ivf on your first cycle. You may respond well to stims. Not everybody with DOM responds poorly. The mini-stim cycles you are talking about is a very good choice for poor responders. If you get 3 follicles with $6K worth of meds with $150 of meds (clomid/femara and trigger), then it is an obvious choice. Since you only have a couple of follies to retrieve eggs from they do it with just oral medications for pain and sedation. It cuts down the cost even more. Also, cost for the embryologist/lab etc. is much cheaper. You can do at 3-4 cycles for the cost of 1 conventional cycle. It ensures that every egg available will meet a sperm and and embryo ends up in the uterus. more than 2-3 follies no matter how much meds they are on.

Bonnie, i am going with twins.

Lynnie, how are you girls?

Has anybody heard from Biddy?

Hi to everybody else.

HI ladies,

Carolyn we put back 3 embryos, 2 grade 1 hatching blasts and 1 grade 2 hatching blast. in the beginning we only thought 2 were going to make since baby A had a poor heartbeat and her sac was tiny... Never count the little ones out, she is so strong now and growing at the same pace as her sisters.

Had my 22 week peri appt yesterday and US scan.

Scan went great even got some great 4D pics of baby A and B. C was a bit camera shy yesterday. However I am spilling a but of protein and my bp is elevated from my normal baseline so Dr thinks it is pre eclampsia, we will know soon for sure since I am now in the process of a 24 urine test for protein. DR said we will be delivering about 33 weeks which is the week of June 7th. He also said I should be prepared to spend the last 4 to 6 weeks in the hospital. That is a bummer since I had no intensions of spending any time except c-section recovery in the hospital.. Whatever is needed for the babies I will do.

We had our next appt April 7th, sono in the morning then peri appt then a meeting with the neonatologist and a visit to the NICU since at 33 weeks that will be their home for a little bit.

Well I am off, back to bed since that is the only place I am allowed these days.
Much sticky baby dust to all

Finally transfer day came. I had read up a storm about loosing embryos from day 3-5 and when I arrived to the clinic this morning I was convinced we had lost them all. They just had us wait and wait and there was nobody talking to me. In the end finally the Dr came herself with a big smile so I then knew we had at least 1 viable one!

Turns out we transferred 2 grade A blastocysts, 2 more are still on day 4 stage and if they blast they will get frozen tomorrow as well and 1 we lost. It was a result much better then I could have hoped for! YEY!!!

My beta is not until April 8!!! In the words of DH that is fine because I will have already spent a small fortune on pocas by then....how right is he?LOL

Did acupuncture both before and after transfer and feel very sleepy, must be the relaxation of knowing everything is finally right in my world!

thank you for sharing,

they called to reschedule my US on friday from 10 am to 2:30 pm! ugh...but to be fair that will allow for my mid morning nap--which has been lasting into the afternoon! man am i sleepy,

Thanks, we are happy to have her home. Her surgery was scheduled for Feb but was postponed due to a cold. The schedules just worked out for IVF and surgery to take place around the same time (I actually got AF two days before) which ended up working out better that I thought...I didn't have time to focus on the BFN! But she is home now and so happy (at 19 months old and 7 days in the hospital, I'm not sure she knew she was coming home...maybe just that life was now in the hospital with either mom or dad always with her).

Bonnie, we are considering Korea and definitely looking into special needs as an option. I never considered dd SN but she would have been in China due to her heart condition. That's wonderful your friend is trying to get a new adoption program started!! I would love to see children stay with their bio families as much as possible, but sometimes that's just not an option, especially true orphans. No matter what, kids always deserve a home. Good luck to her!
