Thanks Neffi

I think the mad mood is because a person got on my nerves today. And the nauseus could be the amount of water i've been drinking. But was a little worried about the redness.

Hey, your baby is 9 weeks and you are already trying. You are brave. You'll be in my prayers so your DS could have a baby sister or brother, or both.

Hi all,

Just wanted to update on my transfer this morning.
We transferred 2, grade A, blasts, everything went super well.

Tomorrow they will call to let me know if my 2 other embies made it to blast to freeze but one we have lost. It would be soo great to get a couple of frosties, really more then I could have hoped for at my age.

My beta is not until April 8th! My god, that is a long wait, 5 days+14=19!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the OHSS information. I have a really tight feeling across my lower stomach region (constant) and two days ago bad back pain (which is now gone). I just wanted to be sure. Im drinking Gatorade by the gallon.

Sisi, congrats on the transfer. Here's to having some frosties!!! Grow!

Neffi, welcome to our group! 9 weeks and you have energy to do this again? Wow! YOu are my hero!

CTMichele, WTG on the BCP start date. Here's to an April start!

oh my goodness, I go to the grocery store and look what happens...a whole new page of posts to reply to! You girls are a busy group.

First I have to say...

Neffi- You go girl! I can not believe you are going again, I thought I was crazy with a 6 month old. Of course you can join us...and let me just say that this group of women is just as wonderful as our original dec/jan 07 thread. So let me get this straight...you are going to cycle, freeze the embies, and then when will you put them back? I am guessing they want you to wait 6 months before getting pregnant again? That's what I was told by my ob. I am so glad to see you here, and give kisses to your little angel for me...and let me know when you know dates, I have been keeping the list on this thread going, so I will add you and then add dates when you know them.

sisi- congrats on transfer, and welcome to the 2ww. I hope your other embies make it to blast, and get some rest while those embies snuggle in. Oh my, 19 days until beta, I would go crazy, why so long? Will you poas before?

sbr- I don't know if I enjoy the craziness per say, but it does keep me busy. I do work best under pressure. Are you a high school teacher? You said english right? I use to hate high school english... :D

stats- my b-day is April 28th. I will be turning 28 this year. I know I am still young, but goodness I feel old. I will have to do something fun to celebrate without drinks, I am not much of a drinker anyway, very occasional, such as weddings and birthdays, but it is not hard for me to go without. I would definitely rather go to the spa, which is exactly what I might need on my 2ww for my b-day. I was curious about both of those books, I do really like the one I have, but wanted something new for this time, so let me know what you think.

Although this board is a wonderful place for support, it is also nice that you met someone locally that has been through the same thing. There is actually someone on this board who I met in person and it has been awesome to talk face to face with someone who understand...you know who you are girl! (See you friday for lunch :D ) There is another girl on one of the pregnancy threads that actually went to my same clinic, same ob and will deliver in a week in the same hospital I did...crazy how small this world is!

Trying- so glad to here from you and congrats on starting stims. It does seem like a while for first u/s. I will start stims on a friday and have u/s the following monday/wednesday and friday. But I am sure it is fine, nothing really happens in the first few days.

cymplicity- lol...now I really feel old...mother hen...hehe, thanks for your excitement, I am glad to be starting.

kline- congrats on your upcoming leave, take that time for yourself, and try to destress a bit.

ok...I will check on you all again later. I have to go get dinner together, finish laundry, and all that fun stuff.

ok ladies--

I am not transferring this cycle. RE reccomends waiting 6 months, but since I'm not BFing they will consider earlier if my uterus looks ready. It all depends on DHs insurance. I am not a hero, just doing what I have to do to get the family I want and financially I don't have a choice. But, to be honest, I think I'd do it again. My son is awesome, not a difficult baby, and since I only plan on having two, if they are close its like getting all the hard stuff done at the same time. Again, all of our decisions are based on insurance. Its a shame it has to be like that, but thats just how it is.

neffi i understand the doingthings based on not completely by choice. Thats how i started in fetitilty to begin with I was 19yrs old when i was told i as startin perimenapause and it was now or never well now took president. I was 20 when i started and 26 when i finished. When most my friends where sarting their adult lives i was entering moterood through a rough journey. But when you know you want kids you do what you have to.

Had another sonogram and bloodwork done. It looks like I will only have 4- 6 at the time of ER. I am abit disappointed but thats life I guess.

I have an appointment Saturday. If everything goes as planned, ER will be on Tuesday, 3/31. We also decided to do laser assisted hatching to all eggs in addition to the ICSI.

Wow, this thread is crazy busy!! So much to keep up to speed on with everyone... Not sure I'm going to be able to carry on doing what I've been doing so far and respond to everyone who has posted since my last message - I'll be clogging up the board with huge long posts if I do!! So more limited personals only this time, and sorry to all those I don't mention:

Welcome sherrilynn and Neffi. Neffi, I take my hat off to you - doing the drugs again with a 9 week old baby, what a woman! Do you already have any frosties from your first cycle or did you get all your embies transferred?

Sisi & Latie - PUPO!! Hope you are both taking it easy! Snuggle up embies... Are you girls planning to POAS or last it out until beta?

Kim - I'm keeping everything crossed for your beta tomorrow.

Cynthia & Tabatha - happy harvest today! Cynthia - I'm praying that you don't go any further down the OHSS road, just please make sure you take care of yourself... When will you and the RE be able to make the final decision about whether to do ET on Sunday?

Tabatha - 16 eggs, wow! Have a well deserved rest now and conserve your energy for the next stage. Do you know whether you are doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer?

Sari - thank goodness, the disappearing right ovary is back, what a relief! And 5 follicles seems fine to me - as everyone keeps saying, it only takes one. Given a choice between the two, quality is more important than quantity.

Trying - how did you like acupuncture? I found it very weird the first time and I still don't like the needles, but I have become a total convert about what it can do. I think a fair few of us on this thread are using it - there are studies which have shown it can really improve the chances of IVF being successful. And 7 days between starting to stim and going for your first u/s is quite a long time, but my clinic doesn't get me in for 6 days I don't think, and as Michele has said I don't think a lot happens in the very early days.

Carolyn - you poor thing, you always seem to be worn out from work. Are you going to get any time to yourself to relax before zipping off to Prague for your ET?

Lee - I'm so very sorry about your BFN. You have had such a journey and it's heartbreaking that you didn't get the ending you wished for. I think taking some time with DH and generally taking a step back for a while is a very healthy thing to do. You will be in my thoughts. Come back and see us if you feel like it.

Melanie - I'm so pleased to hear that you've been given the go-ahead to get straight into FET, that's exactly what you wanted! Looking at your dates, if your transfer is around 12th April that will put you close to me I think (my clinic told me to expect ER in w/c 13th April) and also to Michele if she stays on track for ER on 21st April. I know exactly what you mean that the hardest decision is how many embryos to transfer and when - in the UK the maximum is 2 anyway but I think the law is about to change so that if you get publicly funded IVF, you get 3 cycles but for the first two cycles you can only transfer one embryo, and then you can do 2 for the third cycle. So I guess that kind of takes it out of my hands. It may be that the law has already changed (think it is coming into effect in April though) but (partly because my clinic encouraged me to make this decision because of the added risk of multiples to both mum and babies) I'm currently intending to transfer just one for this cycle and see where we go from there. Like you, I feel that any pregnancy would be a blessing but I'm not one of those people who desperately wants to have twins.

Michele - hurray, you've started!! Can't wait to cycle with you in April. So now we can add the stress of your brother's wedding and his bridezilla to the list of things you manage to cope with in your usual unflappable manner - you really are amazing, I would be tearing my hair out with so much on my plate! But as you say, sometimes it is better to be busy than have time to sit and dwell. You made me laugh with your description of your 'rabbit food' - at the moment I feel a bit protein obsessed as I've been told to eat lots of protein in the run up to IVF for egg quality. I'm eating so many eggs that I'm going to look like a chicken soon. I'm missing my junk food!!

To everyone else having u/s this week, happy scanning!

AFM, still suffering with hot flushes and night sweats thanks to the down regulation drugs, but at least the headaches have eased off a little thanks to the acupuncture (don't know what I would do without it!). Only a week to go until baseline - can't wait!! Hopefully this time next week I will be posting to let you all know that I've got the go-ahead to start stims...

Take care everyone,
Hazel
