Info on Cornell anyone

Post by kbat »

I am considering doing one more cycle, possibly. The good news is that our new insurance seems to cover it--looks like almost 100% for in-network and there are some out of pocket expenses if we go "out of network." I went on the insurance website and it looks like Cornell is in network, but when I received the information on them, it looks like we have to submit everything to the insurance. In the past, basically the clinic took care of that aspect, and if you got pre-approved then you proceed w/ the cycle.

has anyone had experience w/ Cornell in NYC. Do you know how it works, etc. I CANNOT travel to Colorado or else I would consider CCRM. I can only do this if the clinic accepts insurance, and I am not too happy w/ anyplace near where I live.

Thanks for info.

I'm currently going over there. About the insurance, I didn't have no problem at all. The prob I had was that it is a group of doctors and the insurance said they covered them because any doctor name came as "prebisterian hospital" and of course the hospital take all the ins. But I called the ins and they looked by the address and everything went fine. But you can also call and ask to be tranfered to the billing department and they can help you. Hope everything goes fine with you!
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I was a little confused b/c I am interested in trying them, but not if you have to submit everything on your own. Who needs that added stress?

Do you like them? Do you think that they do a good job? Looks like they have several different offices--which one do you go to?

What insurance do you have? To my knowledge, Cornell accepts Oxford and United (if you have infertility coverage)

They will bill your insurance directly if you are in network at both places.

I can tell you that my experience so far at Cornell has been great! I see Dr. Spandorfer and he is wonderful and the staff is very efficient and professional.

Hi Kbat,
Well I like them so far. I was referred by a co-worker and my co-worker was referred by a friend who already have a bb and loved how they worked. I go to the office in middle Manhattan. Which one do you want to go to?

I have Anthem Blue Cross. When I went on the insurance website, it seems like they be in the network. I do have coverage, but I really don't want to have to charge it, etc. and then go through my insurance. If insurance pays for it, not sure why they can't bill directly...
