Holy Hanna! I can't believe your BFP and am so happy for you. I remember we were cycling together, and I was so bummed out to hear of your story and all that you went through. What an amazing gift for you and for us girls here as well to have your "miracle" story. We truly did need the inspiration and it seems to have caught on!! Yeah and thank you for sharing with us.
 Lionoe- Congrats on your BFP!!! I like it, we're starting a trend here. Gives me hope for my FET in April.
Good luck to you other girls who are doing ER's and betas tomorrow and soon.

Hello Ladies. I'm have a good and bad day. The transfer this morning went smoothly. Of the 10 embryos 3 were 1's (which is there highest/best number on their rating scale) and 7 were .75 which they said were also really good. We had the option of transferring 1 or 2. We went with 2. The coolest part is that they gave us a picture of our embryos and the cover of the culture dish to take with us :D. So I guess that means I'm officially in my 2ww!!!! Pregnancy test is scheduled for April 13th.

The bad part is that after getting home we immediately got back in the bed (had to be there pretty early this morning so we wanted to nap). About an hour into napping I woke up to this HORRIBLE pain in my stomach. It was like indigestion to the 10th degree! Mind you I have been having stomach issues all weekend but I tend to have a sensitive stomach anyway so what I was experincing prior to this was nothing I was alarmed about. I immediatetly took some pepto while thinking in the back of my mind that maybe I shouldn't be taking anything after the having the transfer but I was hurting so bad I had to take something! That did nothing. About an hour later still in pain I tried Maalox (TMI coming here) to which I almost immediately vommitted back up :? At this point I had to call my RE. Actually DH called while I tried eating a plain bagel. While he's giving her the run down of my symptoms wouldn't you know it the pains just stop! She assured me what I was experiencing wasn't related to the transfer and that they had had women come in with a nasty GI bug in the past few days/weeks. She also told me it was ok for me to take stomach meds and doing so wouldn't affect my embies. That made me feel a LOT better. I mean I hate having this bug but at least I know it will pass and may not be too serious. Anyway, RE told me to go to urgent care if I didn't start to feel better and call her later with results. Now that I'm feeling better, I don't think I'll go unless it starts up again but I still have to call her back with an update. It has kind of ruined our day since we were so excited leaving the clinic this morning. I can't help but wonder now if all this will somehow affect our chances at being pregnant :?

Melanie, I recall you mentioning a GI issue after your ER. What was it like for you? What were your symptoms? I'm starting to think that if they've seen women come through with GI stuff, maybe it's not a bug but a side effect of one of the meds?? Or it could just be that the bug has made it's way from Richmond down to Raleigh

Tabatha, how did the transfer go???

Congrats to those with BFP!!! wow that is so awesome and inspiring. And Cynthia I am sending sticky dust your way! I'm sorry you have a stomach bug but how exciting on your ET. I can't wait for that day to come for me.

I'm on day 5 on of the Lupron and not feeling any side effects whatsover. The first 2 days I had extreme itchiness for about 30 mins but now nothing. I hope I'm doing it right?! I've read about women have many side effects with the meds but is that only with the stims? I know I shouldnt be complaining that I don't have any side effects but I think I would feel more confident that it's working if I felt SOMETHING. crazy?

Cindy I remember feeling the exact same way! I just wanted to feel something...ANYTHING. I don't think I started feeling the Lupron effects until I was going into my 2nd week on it, maybe about day 7 or 8, right before I started stims. I also questioned whether I was doing it right in the beginning.

A busy weekend on the thread! I've been away from my laptop most of yesterday and today so only just checking in, what a lot to catch up on!

Kim - do let us know when you've called the clinic tomorrow to arrange your appointment with your RE to talk about what happened and to discuss doing a different protocol. When would you prefer to cycle again, if you are given free choice - May so that you don't wait too long or August to allow some time to try acupuncture etc? Did you have acupuncture for this last cycle? I know what you mean about DIY not being your forte. My parents have been jokingly overheard saying that they were hoping for years that I would do the decent thing and marry someone 'useful' to the family (ie a plumber, carpenter, electrician etc) and I went and married a lawyer. I'm a lawyer too (well I was until last July when I lost my job thanks to the credit crunch and became a housewife) and between the two of us we're pretty useless around the house!!

Tabatha - did you transfer 2 or 3 embies in the end? Either way, hope ET went smoothly today and best of luck!

Cynthia - 10 fertilised eggs, that's fantastic! Glad to hear that your ET went well today, but really sorry to hear about the stomach bug. Do you think you picked that up from visiting the clinic for ER or from somewhere else? It's good that they have said that the stomach meds won't affect the embies - hope you are feeling a bit better and managing to rest now. Just think, you're officially in the PUPO club!

Latino - I assume you are triggering tonight if ER is Tuesday? So exciting...

Sportsmom - welcome! I wouldn't worry about not feeling any side effects, it seems very clear from reading everyone's stories on this thread that each woman reacts differently and I would count yourself lucky if you're not suffering! I didn't feel any side effects for a week on my down regulation drugs and then they hit me like a truck so don't be too hasty to feel them!

Nicole/Lionoe - OMG a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you I can't tell you - have you come down off cloud nine now? And did you work out whether your beta of 282 is normal or high enough to indicate possibly that both embies implanted?

aims - how you doing? Are you still resisting the HPTs? Not long to go now until beta!

sbr - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have you done something fun today to celebrate, weren't you going out on a date with DH? So are you enjoying the start of your rest (and playing with your little one) before FET on Thursday?

dys - grow follies grow!

Trying - I'm not surprised you didn't feel any big changes during or straight after acupuncture. For me has been a more subtle and cumulative thing, the more I have it the more I can look back and see changes which have built up over time. Having said that, since I've been having side effects from the down regulation drugs, my acupuncturist has been doing a lot of needles for those and I've been able to see an immediate reduction in how bad they are. Stick with it!

Sari - are you on track for ER early this week?

Neffi - wow, ER next Saturday. It feels as if we've only just met you, so that has come round super fast! Hope your last week of stims go smoothly - how have you found it doing the drugs with a 9 week old at home? Have you been having any side effects? And how was the beach?

Michele - did you have a lovely walk yesterday with Ella? Hope you've had a good weekend - don't go sending the piccy of Ella in her swimming costume just to dys, I think we all want to see it! Your huge Easter egg hunt & brunch sounds amazing - we will definitely want to see a photo of Ella if she dresses up for that! And I see from your tracker that you only have 8 days of BCP's to go and that your baseline is a week tomorrow. I have my baseline on Thursday - we are both getting slowly closer...

Hey Melanie, getting closer for you too!

Last but certainly not least, Babymex - I'm totally blown away by your story. After everything you went through with the ectopic pregnancy and the surgery (and your horrible experience at the hospital) it is just mindblowing that they have now detected another pregnancy - what a strong little fighter it must be to have come through the surgery with you. I'm so very happy for you and DH, you deserve every joy after what you both went through. Between you and Nicole, you have given all us ladies a huge lift!

To everyone I have missed, hope all is well - thinking of you as always. So that's all from me for tonight, catch you all soon.

Hi. My name is Tricia and currently undergoing with my first IVF cycle. I started my Lupron injections four days ago. Aside from lupron I'm also taking Metformin and Folic Acid. So far, I don't feel anything strange or side effects from the drug. Thank God.

Im so glad to find this forum, i know in the long run of my IVF treatment i'll be needing advice, share experiences and feelings.

Thanks.

Hi trx0424! Welcome! Looks like you and me are on the same schedule. I'm on day 5 of the lupron injections. And on my first IVF also. Maybe we'll get our ET around the same time. I look forward to sharing experiences with you!

Hi sportsmom. I'm so glad to hear we are on the same schedule. I'm a little worried right now coz about 3 weeks ago I had a bug in my stomach that cause me to have diarrhea for more than two weeks..and now i'm experiencing bouts of constipation and watery BM in the morning. I pray that it wont affect my IVF treatment. Im schedule to see my primary doctor on wednesday about this problem in my stomach. I hope and pray everything is okay.

Hey everyone!

trx- welcome! I am glad you decided to join us here. It sounds like you and I will be cycling close together. Do you know when you are expected to start stims?

hjw- Ella slept too long during nap yesterday and bythe time she woke up, the sun was almost down, so we skipped the walk. I was too exhausted from swimming anyway. I am close to baseline...all of the april cyclers will be starting soon now, it's like our second wave on this thread. I will try to take a cute pic of ella with the Easter Bunny on Saturday to share with everyone. I also have her photo website in my signature so anytime anyone needs some inspiration or just wants to see a cute baby, they can go check it out.

sportsmom- I think it is normal to not feel anything too. We all react different, but I can understand wanting to feel anything, just to know it is working...but I am sure it is working just fine. When do you go for u/s, tomorrow?

cymplicity- you are officially PUPO! So glad to hear transfer went well, and so sorry to hear about the awful stomach bug. I loved the embryo pic, I actually have it in Ella's baby book...of course, we don't know which one she is, but we know she is one of them. It is cool because not many people have that kind of picture. I hope this works for you so you can put that pic in your baby book too!

Tabatha- Hope your transfer went well today...let us know when you feel up to it...we are all thinking of you

dys- Any news from u/s this morning? I hope it went well...

Ok, just wanted to pop in and say hi. Of course nothing new to report for me, just the bcp countdown. The bcp's brought my blood pressure up a little, as expected, but nothing bad, so I am good to go. I feel like it is going to be a very long week waiting for my baseline. Everything has been a waiting game, so I just can't wait to get going already.

Ok, talk to you all soon!

Hi Carolyn- guess we were posting at the same time.

MIL is doing well, thanks for asking. She will hopefull start her outpatient program tomorrow, but in the meantime she is going to 2 AA meetings per day. She was just here to see the baby and is still very enthusiastic about making the right choices and life changes she needs to make. I am glad we took her to the hospital, it is exactly what she needed, a wake up call if you will.

I see from your signature that ivf is April 9th. Is that your transfer date? It is coming awfully close, I am so glad we are all close to getting started here, and hopefully many bfp's to come.

Hope to hear from you again soon!

Hi Everyone! WOW, I never could have imagined how BUSY this board is, but I'm LOVING it. The good vibes and support is so great. As far as personals go, you are all so encouraging, optimistic and supportive- I am so blessed to be part of you all! And welcome to the newbies!!

AFM:

OK, get this: So the RE tells me to do my hpts last Sunday, and if negative, then again Tuesday. IF that one was negative, I was to go off my Progesterone and expect Aunt Flo..... which is exactly what I did- including crying my eyes out that our first round of IUI failed.

Well............. I had ONE last hpt test left and was so bothered by the fact that AF hadn't arrived I broke down to a co-worker who's also gone through IUIs and IVF and she encouraged me to use the last test Saturday AM.

IT WAS FREAKING POSITIVE. I was a hysterical mess..... crying, shaking YIKES!

So then I start thinking it was a fluke, so DH and I bought a fresh cheapo hpt last night and I couldn't wait till this morning..... AND IT WAS POSITIVE TOO!

My beta from this morning came back at 289. 1st day of this cycle was on 2/26 and IUI was on 3/8, I'm not sure what that all means, so if anyone can give me some insight, it would be so appreciated. Also, I had the 7 days post IUI blood progesterone level taken at my LOCAL lab & it was at 73 (which they said was beautiful). Unfortunately, it has "dropped" to 21.3, which scares the hell out of me. The RN assured me that it is a good enough level to support a pregnancy & that the "drop" may be due to 2 different labs- of course all the more reason to continue on my progesterone suppositories!!!!!!

I was going to post 1st thing yesterday, then I had second thoughts, because I just joined this thread and didn't want to be the 1st BFP- so I was THRILLED to see there are 2 others, also!! CONGRATS to you both, babymex (WOW, WHAT AN AWESOME STORY) & Nicole!!

So now I am just waiting for 2nd beta Tuesday morning. We haven't told anyone and won't until the beta proves to be acceptable. CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC. Even then, I think we'll wait until the u/s to see/hear the heartbeat.........

oh my.
