Hey CT_Michele

I had 8 follicles and now 5 of them are actually growing fine. they are about 19 and 20 each. I will be triggering tomorrow night and doctor will retrieve my eggs on 2nd April(Its my dad's bithday) However the doc said he will transfer it on Saturday, 4th April. Does it not make it a 3 day transfer or is it 2 days and if it is 2 days then will it affect the end result?

ER is set for tomorrow as long as my bloodwork from this morning is Ok. I triggered last night. I did not feel bloated at all on Sunday morning before the trigger. I hope that is ok.

 Babyluv- you will have a day 2 transfer if he does it on the 4th, since the 3rd will be considered day 1. I would question this, and make sure he's not doing it on Saturday, because he wants the day off on Sunday.
 Cymplicity:
I hear you about the "that figures" attitude if you get a BFN. That's kinda how I was. I have had so many BFN HPT's that I just figured it couldn't be positive for me (and it wasn't!) Unfortunately I did a HPT for my IVF and regretted it big time. It really brought my moral down a lot. Then you do the stupid game of, well maybe it's really positive, but maybe I did it too early. It seems better to just believe your PUPO.
I've been a little down in the dumps lately about the whole thing, and wonder if I'll ever get the BFP. Maybe we were meant to just have our son, and be grateful for the miracle he is (which we are either way).
The doctor told me last week that since I'm not on Lupron, if I ovulate, he will cancel the cycle. So now I'm dreading the fact that I may ovulate. The big thing getting me through my BFN was being able to do my FET right away. I just don't know if I can take any more disappointment so soon. I know I'm being negative, but this Estrace stuff has been making me real depressed and b*tchy too. I feel bad for my family
I go to RE on Thursday morning to get u/s and B/w. Just have to hope that the Estrace did enough to suppress ovulation, and we can continue. I think my mood will improve once I know I can go ahead with my FET.
Here's keeping my fingers crossed for all of us,
Melanie

babyluv- if they transfer on saturday that would be a 2 day transfer, and i thought the same thing as melanie...i would question it and make sure it is not just b/c they want sunday off. on the other hand, 2 day transfers are not unheard of, though rare. and people have had success with 2 days. if you google "ivf 2 day transfer" you will find some research that shows no difference in success rates between 2 day and 3 day transfers.

tabatha- the ongoing pineapple controversy! this topic comes up constantly on these boards and i would say do your research before trying anything, because there are mixed opinions regarding this one. The theory is that the pineapple core contains an enzyme called bromelain which is supposed to thinken your lining therefore increasing your chances of implantation. They also say that too much pineapple can cause uterine contractions, so there are all sorts of suggestions of how to do this properly if you plan to, such as only fresh pineapple since canned and juice have no bromelain in them, and to eat on an empty stomach so it goes into the blood rather than aiding in breaking up food in your stomach, and not to start too early. I guess they reccomend eating the same amount for 5 days starting with transfer day. All you have to do is google search for pineapple and implantation and you will find all sorts of suggestions and articles for and against it. Good luck, and let us know what you decide to do.

hey CT_Michele

what doc told me was that they believe in the embryo going back in the utreus at the earliest. Sunday shudnt be a concern coz they work on sundays as well. i did check 2 day transfer on goofgle and it says that people do get pregnant with 2 day transfer. I am all terrified now. wat do i do? wen i asked him for blastocyst he told me that they need more eggs for blasts as they cant risk having the few not fertilise?? please advice :(

froggy- First, congrats on your bfp! If i counted right, your first beta was 16dpo, and 746 is definitely high. Normal high range for 16dpo is about 400 according to various hcg charts. I would think you have a chance for multiples. How many did you transfer? Let us know how is works out. Did you have your second beta yet?

Melanie, sorry you're down. Sending "suppression dust" (i think that's a new one) your way  I hope you don't ovulate and can continue on with your FET. DH and I have decided that if this cycle doesn't work, we'll try one cycle of FET and if that doesn't work, we're done. The most I would do is opt for surgery of my tubes which may or may not work (which is why we're trying IVF now). The way it was presented to me was that there was no guarantee that a laporoscopy would clear up my tubes and allow me to conceive on my own. RE says "we could skip the tubes and go to IVF". Obviously I went with IVF. So in my mind if my tubes were the only problem and IVF still doesn't work, there is yet some other issue to discover and I just don't feel like going on that rollercoaster ride. We'd look into adoption.

We are doing a hpt for 2 reasons (1) it's our little piece of "normalcy" in this process. If it's positive we'd get to experience that thrill that other couples who concieve naturally get to feel (or something like it). (2) if it's negative, I'll know in advance and won't be shocked during my beta if it confirms it. Of course this is what is going through my mind at the moment. Ask me a week from now and I may be saying something completely different! :?

babyluv- most dr's will not risk a blast transfer if there are not enough embryos. That is what happened to me, on day 2, only 5 were still growing, so they said to come in for the 3 day. When we went on day 3, we only had 4 embryos left, so they picked 2 and that was that. And it worked for us, so 3 days do work. I would just ask why your dr would do a 2 day instead of a 3. He must have a reason, and you have a right to know. I am guessing after reading about it, that there is not much difference between a 2 day and 3 day as far as success rates go, so try not to worry.

Ok, Ladies, I caved and poas. lol I got a positive but i'm still skeptical. I've been feeling horrible today. I've been having cramps in the middle of my stomach almost as bad as I did after ER. Usually my AF cramps are on the sides. And, I'm spotting. So, I don't know if it's implantation bleeding, the suppositories (I'm feeling a little raw), or AF is coming. I've never gotten a positive on a hpt while spotting though. AF is due the day of my beta, so I guess all I can do is try to keep the pma. I have 2 more hpts, so I will probably test again tomorrow.
