Sorry, Just have to vent. It hasn't been a good week. I am in such a crabby mood. I should be in a really good mood because I leave today for my extended weekend and I am only working 6 hours today.
I just know this cycle didn't work so I am really in a "I don't give a crap mood" because of that. DH has been sick all week, plus working weird hours so I haven't seen much of him and if I do he is crabbing because he doesn't feel good. Plus, he keeps me up half the night because he is snoring in my ear. I love my DH but he is such a whiner when he is sick. To further vent, Last week I actually went to my PCP for a check up. Mind you last time I had a check up I was in high school. I hate DR's and I am never sick so I never go to them. I got a call from my Dr yesterday. My liver enzymes are really high. They should be 30 and are at 100. Did some research and this could be a cause of several different issues. 1 - Overweight, 2 - fatty diet, & 3- induced by prescriptions meds. So I did a little more researching and find that the erythromacin and the medrol I was taking for IVF cancel each other out and cause each other not to be absorbed by the liver. So I was taking both these meds for nothing. What a waste of time and money. I also think that this might be the cause of my high liver enzymes be cause both mention liver enzymes in the reaction list but never actually state that can cause high live enzymes. So now I have to go back next week for more tests. OH YEAH!!!
To top it all off, I received a letter from my insurance company stating that my ET was not covered. COME ON, they cover my retrieval but won't cover my transfer. Give me a break!!!! From what I was told, my insurance covers what the IL state mandate requires. Under the IL state mandate it defines IVF as the retrieval of eggs, fertilization of eggs and then the transfer of eggs. So why would it not cover the transfer? My insurance company is just trying to get out of paying.

Ok, I am now done venting. Thanks for listening to me.

Chris, I am so sorry to hear all that. I am surprised, esp if the same insurance company has paid for previous cycles. Unless there is some lifetime cap max or something, wouldn't they just say that instead of saying they wouldn't pay for it?

It may have been a really good thing to go to your regular doc to get checked out, you may be onto something with your liver. Talk to your RE about it and bring up your concern about them canceling each other out. That sounds like madness that a specialist wouldn't know that. It doesn't make any sense. My RE always told me to be careful what you read on the Internet, it isn't always true, was it from a reliable source? Did you read that more than once. Don't stress about it yet...it isn't helping your main cause.

I am so sorry your life is stressful right now, you certainly have been through more than all of us combined it seems. I am glad you vented, we are here for you.

to have fun - definitely go back for more expansive liver test and mention it to your RE but try not to worry too much about it until you get more info from the additional tests. my DH just got a call from his PCP a few weeks ago saying the same thing - high liver enzymes. he's got high-cholesterol so as he was going to start some new lowering drugs, they automatically test your liver enzymes before you start. we were concerned and wondered what was going on for a few weeks. turns out the expanded liver series of test shows that everything is normal. we worried for nothing.

Thanks babyhope and pixelgirl - I am not stressing about the liver thing just yet. I am waiting to have more tests done before I freak out. Just sucks because I am on vacation and planned on drinking come Sunday if my HPT was negative. So now those plans are shot. No big deal. I am just going to try to pay closer attention to what I eat and try not to drink alchohol. Whats this world coming too when you can't make babies and you can't drink. I guess I could still try to make babies even though it doesn't work.

So I POAS today 10dp3dt and it was negative. I know it is still early and my embies were slow to begin with so they might have been late implanters. I will give it a few more days but I am prepaired for a negative.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Went out fishing with hubby. Well he went fishing I read my book. I course it started to rain so it cut our trip short. Hopefully the rain will stop and we can go back out later on.

Kas, Karen, Wonderance, NY, Gina, Babyhope and PixelGirl. Wishing you gals all the best of luck.

Hey Chris, sorry your vacation isn't going as planned. But hopefully the follow-up liver tests you have done will show that your enzyme levels are back down if the meds you were on could have been causing it. It seems like one of the doctors would have noticed that and put 2 and 2 together that it might be the cause. Sometimes we have to look out for ourselves or no one else will! That's BS about the insurance not covering ET too. I'm dealing with a charge from the specialist they have me seeing where she wasn't considered an "in-network provider" from Oct-Dec 2008, and my dates of service are 12/30/08. As of 1/1/09 she became part of the "in-network providers" and all charges are covered, but I'm dealing with $600 worth of charges during that time that United Healthcare is denying. I'm just adding to the stack of IVF bills and future hospital bills we have to pay. Fun stuff! Anyway, I hope you can enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Hi Babyhope, Pixel, Karen, Gina, Kas, NY, Lynnie!

So I went for my monthly checkup this morning and everything looks good....except my iron levels. Still low. I'm not sure what they'll do, if anything. I guess I need to acquire a taste for oysters and liver. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello everyone. There has been a lot going on on this board since I last posted any comments. My goal was to try to log on at least once a week to try and keep up with everyone but I haven't been able to do so. For one I am still experiencing nausea which is such an icky feeling and I am in grad school so that takes up a lot of my time as well. However, when I do log on I try to go back where I left off and read everyone's posts.

babyhope1 I was glad to read that everything is still going well for you. I can't remember if you mentioned it before or not but did you experience any ms during your 1st trimester?

NY Seems like everything is going well for you so far. I pray that everything continues to go well!

to_have_fun I am sorry to read that you have been going through so much in the past few days, with the insurance issue and then finding out about the liver condition. I was happy to see that you're not letting it freak you out though. I hope and pray that the additional test reveal that there isn't a real problem and that everything works out for you. I hope you enjoy your extended weekend! :D

Gina Great to read that you are feeling great and to see a great update on baby eric. I am happy that all is going well for you! :D

Karen I was happy to read that the nursery is coming along as planned. I agree that the crib bedding is quite expensive. It seems as though all of the bedding I want for our little girl costs so much, but I'll still end up buying it of course. I think someone on this board mentioned putting it on your registry, and that's the same suggestion my DH cousin gave me. Aside from that, I know what you mean about the baby moving. I get a little worried and nervous too when a day goes by without feeling her move. A friend of mine told me to just lay on my back for a while and that will get her moving. So far that has worked.

pixel That was a good story. Sometimes in life that's what we need. To write all of our troubles down and burn them. I can see how that can help to relieve some stress and make you feel good!

Kas I am glad that your move went well. I can just imagine how good it felt to get in the pool. If I am not mistaken, you all moved back to FL right? I am trying to convince DH to go down to Orlando or Jax for our anniversary in May. He seems to think I'll be pushing it since I will be going into my 7th month then, so we'll see. Oh, I would like to be apart of the photobucket group and post pics. Can I please get the login information?

wonderce I hope all else is well with you aside from the iron problems. I had a problem with my iron in my 2nd month. At that time my OB recommended slowFE but I didn't start taking it. I was taking my prenatals and I just started trying to eat some of the things that were on the list they gave me, that could increase my iron. I should have followed the doctors orders but when they checked my iron level again it was normal and has been ever since.

As for me not much has been going on. As I mentioned earlier, I still suffer with nausea. The last time I went to see my specialist, he advised that he wants me to gain 1lb a week until I deliver and at that time I was 18 weeks. So far I have managed to gain 2lbs since I've seen him and that's been almost 4wks ago so I am trying. Thankfully I am not vomiting (sorry to be so graphic) as much anymore but it's still hard for me to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day but I force myself to eat as much as possible just to make sure my baby is growing as she should. I have also been experiencing pelvic pain. OMG, I thought I was threatening a m/c but my OB said it was just my pelvic bone stretching and the weight of the baby, etc. So she advised me to buy a maternity belt to help alleviate some of the pressure. It helped a little.

We that's it for me. For everyone that I missed, I apologize, but I hope that you are doing well. Take care ladies and have a good weekend.

hi everyone, wishing- great to hear from you! but sorry you still have ms..that's a bummer and i hope it disappears soon. i can't believe you're in grad school while all this is going on! i tried getting PG during my grad studies..now i'm so tired and consumed with the joy and fear of being PG i can't imagine doing that now.. so i admire you and maybe it's good too cause it can distract you from worrying too much (or that's why it'd be good for me).

NY, thanks for the update, well, i guess we'll all have to be patient til may/june...that's OK, your body needs the break to rejuvenate for your best chances.

chris, sorry to hear about your liver issues and all those frustrations. i hope it gets worked out soon and you get some medical input that's useful.

wonder- yuck! i hope you don't really have to eat oysters and liver  . well i read that even if your iron is low, the baby's usually isn't, as the baby just takes all your iron! so that's good.. are you on supplements? sounds like otherwise things are going well. glad to hear it. hope the ivf $charges get sorted out.

hi babyhope, gina, and kas....haven't heard from you lynnie-? hope you're ok.

AFM, i'm doing well, i can feel the baby move regularly again, it's just different now as i guess he's bigger, and he's always lying sideways, across my very lower belly (sometimes thisis uncomfortable)... i can feel where his head and bum are- ha ha..it's cute, and feel when he's rotating around. my belly button is starting to become flat!! that kinda scared me actually. i love people noticing i'm pg, although still a small part of me gets fearful about a loss and looking all these people in the eye who are celebrating me now after a loss.

i can't wait for my baby furniture to come in!!! and my mom got us a beautiful travel system- infant car seat and matching stroller, car seat can clip into stroller (so you don't disturb baby), or use stroller on it's own.

much love to all, karen

BDAntonio and Wishing4Blessings, thanks for the input. It makes me feel better to know that anemia is not uncommon during pregnancy. I've had low iron levels since my first trimester and it seems to be getting worse. I'm on a prenatal vitamin with 27 mg of iron and Ferro-Sequels iron supplements with an additional 50 mg. I guess my doc will let me know if I need to double my supplements.

Wishing, sorry you're still dealing with the nausea. Did you try Zofran yet? I took it several times during my first 3 months and it really seemed to help. I didn't really want to take extra meds while pregnant, but my doc reassured me it was fine. Just a thought? Either way, hope you start feeling better soon. BTW, glad the maternity belt helped with your pelvic pain. I guess the baby is making room in there!

NY, good news about AF and gearing up for your next cycle in June. At least you will have a little break in between. Looking forward to your CGH update.

Karen, yes I'm hoping baby girl is taking all of the iron she needs since my levels are low. As for the baby movement, that's funny how you can feel where his head and tush are in there. I can totally relate on the flat belly button. Mine has pretty much disappeared! I still see it poking through a tiny bit with more fitted shirts though and am wondering if there's anything that will smooth it out. Maybe those bella bands? I know you must be excited to get the furniture, and awesome that your mom bought the whole travel system. I like the ones that you can pop straight from the car to the stroller. Enjoy!

hi all, i've got this yucky cold going around..and came home early from work today. glad i'm taking care of myself. had a good OB checkup today. he said everything seems great (uterus feels soft, fundal height ok, ect), and he's just so reassuring and kind, i always feel better after leaving.

the baby kicked on the doppler while we were there. it was funny. i have another appt in 4 weeks time, then it will up to every 2 weeks for checks. i can't believe i'm getting this close!

and my change table came in early! that's exciting. we'll pick it up tomorrow.

hope everything is well.. we're getting quieter on here.. maybe i'll get to those photobucket pics tonight. karen

Thanks NY and Karen -

I am switching RE's. I have a consultation appointment with SIRM ST. louis on April 15. I just do not have any confidence left in my current office. I don't think I am even going to do a follow up Sucks to be Me appointment with them. I think the earliest I can cycle with SIRM will be in July. They have a May cycle but that starts during my vacation. Waiting is fine with me, I need a break and also need to figure out what is up with my liver.

What sucks the most is that my friend that was also cycling got her BFP yesterday. I am happy for them, they deserve it as much as I do but it just sucks that I am going to have to deal with her being pregnant and I am not. She gets everything she wants. I would have been a lot happier is she had 1 failed cycle, but no she had the perfect cycle with the perfect 5-day blast transfer and got her perfect little BFP.  I know I am being mean. She just gets everything she wants and also has to be the center of attention. When she told me she got her BFP, she wanted to make sure I also told my sister. How rude, oh and the she later on invited me to her pizza party celebration. Thank god I missed her call and it went to vm about the party. I never called her back. I seriously would be totally fine with her being PG but I know that I am going to have to hear about it every time we all go out. Her DH and my DH are best friends and we alway go out. Plus we are going on vacation together in May. Just plain sucks.

I think I am going to try and stay away from the boards. My heart just isn't in it anymore. I do love talking with all the gals on this board. At this time I just can't connect with any other cycle boards. I am sure I will change by the time July comes around. I will still be checking here an there on this board.

Love ya all and good luck.
