Question I'm on day 8 of lupron for supression and have my suppression check on April 7th. I feel like AF is coming on pretty soon (tender breasts, cramping off & on) but it usually tortures me like that for a week or two before it actually starts. My question is, If I don't begin my period before my supression check on the 7th does that mean I'm not fully supressed yet? I'm so ready to be off supression and begin my stims so I can get closer to my ER and ET!

I know I should call my RE and ask any questions but I call them almost everyday as it is and have the feeling I'm becoming a nuisance.

 I guess it's ok to call. The nurse told me today that I might or might not get my period while on Lupron. That's it's normal. Or it might be only spotting :?

Wow, I don't post for a few days and I have seven pages of messages to catch up on! Such a busy board now...

Hello and welcome to Tricia/trx (has your digestion settled down now - what did your doctor say yesterday?), Emilie (like you, we aren't telling any of our friends and family about our IVF, even though geographically they are much closer than 24,000 miles away, and if you are anything like me you will love having this board to make you feel as if you have a big group of friends to share the experience with!), Josee (how did ER go today? Hope you are feeling OK.), danibug (good luck in the 2ww, your beta isn't far away now!) and blunder (sorry to hear about your cancelled cycles - I haven't had the same experiences as this is my first IVF but from what it is worth I'm a big believer in acupuncture and the wonderful things I've read it can do for fertility in both men and women).

Kim - have you been able to speak to your RE to discuss when to cycle next? What was the conclusion? Thanks for your good wishes about my daily headaches, I'm pleased to report that they are still there but nowhere near as bad, which I attribute to the wonders of acupuncture. Have you managed to get rid of your three day headache now? Hope so...

Sisi - I'm so sorry. (((((((hugs)))))))

Carolyn - how's things hon? Are you all on course for Prague Easter weekend? Ooooh, it's only a week away, that has come round so quickly!! Sorry to read that you're always knackered from work - are you making sure to take time for yourself too?? And thank you soooo much for the cafe recommendation at Bourn, we went after my appointment today and had coffee, toasties and cake. I had the best chocolate brownie EVER, and DH's cupcake was yummy too - it sustained us very nicely on the drive home and I can see that becoming a habit every time we go over to the clinic!!

Michele - hey, last few days of BCP's! Sorry to hear that they need to do another sonohystogram - fingers crossed that it doesn't delay you. My word, you are such a fount of knowledge - I read your information on pineapple with huge interest, I too had heard that it might help with implantation but didn't know any more than that. I really think if you did your 'IVF 101/IVF for beginners' book it would be fantastic - can I pre-order mine now please???

Melanie - SO glad to hear that you are still on course to have FET this month, hang in there! Looking forward to you and I being PUPO together (with Michele of course!), although I think you are probably going to be a few days ahead of me.

Babyluv - well done on your ER today. When do you get the fertilisation report? Are you still scheduled for ET on Saturday?

Sari - I'm so happy for you, 4 fertilised eggs! Are you doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer?

Ianmichael/Nicole - congratulations! Another story to remind us all to keep up the PMA and not give up too early!

aims - HURRAY, a BFP! So happy for you!!!

Sprouthaus - so nice to hear from you, hope you're able to stick around. Like Michele, I haven't heard about AMS levels but if normal is 28 then 0.3 is clearly very low. Again, like Michele, I'm not surprised that you are upset not to have been told before. Have you been able to find out any more information or will you have to wait until you speak to the new RE's?

Sarah/sbr - keeping everything crossed for your FET today!

Latino - so sorry that you are still in pain from your ER, but 9 fertilised eggs is awesome. Good luck for ET tomorrow...

dys - have you triggered now? It's incredible that you respond so well to the stims!

Trying - so have you triggered now, if ER is tomorrow? Here's hoping for a bumper harvest for both you and dys!

Nicole/Lionoe - so you had your second beta yesterday? I don't know anything about the numbers - have you worked out whether they are still sufficiently high to maybe indicate twins? Do you still have your horrible headache or have you managed to get rid of it?

Tabatha, Cynthia - keeping you in my thoughts during your 2ww. Are you managing to keep occupied and distracted? Cynthia, it sounds as if just like Michele you are planning to be the queen of HPTs!! Let us all know how you get on, and just remember that a negative HPT doesn't necessarily mean a BFN.

Neffi - good luck for your final scan tomorrow. So it's looking like ER on Sunday? And on what day will they actually freeze all the eggs which fertilise? Do you get a say in it (from memory, Melanie discussed with her clinic and froze some at day 1 and some at day 3/5 - have I remembered that right, Melanie) or do your clinic just have one protocol?

AFM, I FINALLY got to baseline day and went this morning for my u/s and blood test. Wow, it seems so weird saying that after having been on the down regulation drugs for almost five weeks. I think somehow it all started feeling quite remote for me, and the sniffing became such a part of my daily routine that in a weird way I think I forgot most of the time that I was in the middle of an IVF cycle. Does that make any sense?

Anyway, it seems very real now and I have my stim drugs so I'm waiting for a phone call to say that my blood test results look OK so that I can do the first injection tonight. I'm dreading it as I really hate needles - I had to look away and shook like a big baby when they took my blood this morning! Help!! I've heard so many people say that once I've done one injection, I'll be fine, so I'm really hoping that is true...

Speak to you all soon - take care everyone!

estrellita On the first 2 days of lupron I had intense itching for about 30 mins. Then I didn't feel anything and was worried I was doing something wrong because I didn't feel any side effects that I heard alot of women have. But today I experienced my first hot flash. I was walking up and down the hallway at work yelling to turn down the heat. Everyone at work was looking at me like I was crazy and saying "Heat?! Its actually freezing in the building today." I got a clue and realized it's all me and the lupron. LOL

the RE did tell me I may or may not have a period during this period but I was wondering if not having a period before my supression check will delay me starting the stims.

Hi Hazel,
I guess we are on the same situation with the injections. When I told the nurse today that I didn't want to see when she took my blood she laughed and said, you'll get used in a few days
Will you be on Lupron too?

Estrellita - I used a nasal spray to down regulate with and still have to continue with that now but on a lower dose. My stims drug is an injection called Gonal-F, a name I've also read quite a few times on this board. Good luck to you - let me know how you get on with the injections!!

Sportsmom - I hear you on the hot flushes. I've had those and the night sweats for the last three or so weeks. Earlier this week I measured the hot flushes as happening roughly every 15 to 20 mins during the day and the night sweats as on average waking me up about every 90 minutes through the night. If this is what the menopause is like then I don't much fancy it!! At least for us, it's a means to an end and it won't last forever. I hope you get your withdrawal bleed, although I'm sure I read on this thread a while back that it's not a disaster if it doesn't arrive before the suppresion check - how long have you been on the down reg drugs now? My withdrawal bleed arrived on about day 8 of down regulation, if that helps.

I've just got the call from the clinic - my bloods are all fine so I'm definitely starting the stims injections tonight. Wish me luck! The sunshine is out and DH took the day off work to go to the clinic with me so I think we are going to go and play a few homes of golf before the sun goes down to take my mind off the impending injection!

hjw I'm on day 8 of the down drugs. I feel like AF is coming soon but she's been known to play with my feelings for a week or two. I'm anxious to start stims next week and put me closer to my ER!

Hjw- Such a nice awesome long post, I love reading your posts, it helps me catch up on everyone! I am so glad to hear you are starting stims! I will move you on the list. I will be right behind you soon, I should start in 8 days.

ianmichael- Oh my, you were still on the list as waiting for af! i knew you had gotten a bfp, but I guess I just didn't notice where you were on the list. Thanks for letting me know, it has been hard to keep up with everyone.

That goes for everyone here...don't be afraid to give me a little reminder to switch something on the list. There are so many of you that I try to catch everything everyone says, but I am bound to miss something. So if you notice something about you is wrong on the list, just give me a shout-out and I will gladly update it.

Hazel and anyone else that is starting injections. A little tip that I hope will help you as it helped me. For the lupron injections, my DH did them. I would lie down on the bed and turn my head away and be sure to pinch at least an inch of skin, don't be afraid to pinch firmly, it helps! For the Gonal F injections in the tummy, i found it helped to ice it for a couple minutes it really does help to numb the area!

AFH, my first beta is this Saturday 4/4 and I am not feeling any symptoms really other than being especially hungry in the morning. I have never wanted my boobs to hurt so much ......hehe

Take care of yourselves everyone.

So you can inject Gonal-F in the tummy? Shows how clueless I am! That's what's prescribed for me when I start stims. I was thinking I would have to get my DH to inject me on the back cheek/hip area.
