You will never believe this!!! I had gone out to lunch with my DH at noon today, and when he was driving me back to work, we were REAR-ENDED by a LARGE DELIVERY TRUCK!!! I immediately started bawling and said, "My babies!" We were stopped at a red light and evidently the truck driver released the brake and came plowing into us. My husband's complete trunk is smashed up, so it was a pretty big impact. Although, when I really think about it, my head was the only thing that moved. (I have a headache.) I'm pretty sure I was securely seat belted in properly and I didn't jolt too bad, but naturally I'm really worried about my little embies. My DH assured me that they should be ok. What do you think????

I'm also super thankful my little guy was in daycare. That's a blessing for sure.

FRAZZLED!
~Sarah

P.S. If this doesn't work, can I file a claim with the driver's insurance for the $4K that lies in my belly????

sbr those embies are super protected. I was 7 months pregnant when I was in a huge accident. I wasn't in any pain but of course I was freaking about my baby. I called the doctors office and he told me that my baby was in the safest place it could be. :D But if I was to begin to have any pain then go to the ER.

Also, I was rear ended last week. Luckily I have a jeep and was hit by another tall car so there was no damage to either. Just bumper to bumper. But the first thing I thought about was....If this happend a few weeks later I would be highly pissed.

Hi Ladies,

Carolyn, Congrats on 5 eggs fertilized!!

Hazel, Hope your tummy feels better. I'm not even a week into the PIO shots and my back is already so sore. I can't imagine doing those for possibly up to 5 weeks! Did you have an U/S yet?

Michele, Can you please update me on the list? I'm officially now in the 2ww! Beta is still set for 4/20. Thanks :)

I had my ET yesterday. It was a 5 day transfer and we put back 2 grade A blasts and froze 5. I was feeling pretty crampy all day and had a hard time sleeping. I wasn't expecting to feel so bad. Today I'm doing much better. So would I say today that I'm 1dpt? or 6dpt? I'm so confused on that stuff. Also when would be the time when I could try a hpt? I don't think I will but in case I give in...haha.

Lots of baby dust to all

Sarah, I would still go get checked out. I've heard horror stories of people not getting checked out after the accident and problems coming about later and they then go through hell with insurance companies and what not. I'm sure your embies are fine but I just don't play around with car accidents, fender bender or major impact. Not only that, I don't want to scare anyone but there was an accident at a shopping center I managed a few years ago where the guy refused treatment because he felt fine. Let just say it turned out tragically for him (internal injuries he wasn't aware of). His accident was pretty bad and yours doesn't sound half as bad, but if your insurance will cover a trip to the doctor's office, it wouldn't hurt.

latino, I'm on 2 vivelle patches too. It's standard with my clinic.

Lee, it's great hearing from you and that you've decided to move towards adoption! DH and I had already decide that if IVF didn't work we'd turn to adopting without even hesitating. Please keep us posted!

Sarah, they put back 2. The first test I took 8dpt was first response and the line was really faint. The digital clear blue easy showed "pregnant" right at the 3 min mark. 10 dpt I only had another clear blue easy and it showed pregnant in less than a minute! Not sure if it's multiples. I've wondered about that philosophy though... I seriously need to get my beta so I can stop THINKING I'm pregnant and start KNOWING! LOL

Sari, I'm tired as a dog today! And I had the metallic taste in my mouth a couple days ago. I agree with everyone that symptoms probably don't mean a whole lot but we just can't help it! LOL  You said it perferctly..."enjoy the fantasy" :D

Trying, you're 1dp5dt. Your hcg would come about a little sooner than us 3 day transferers. So you could test a littler earlier than us. I'm posting the 5dt chart again below. You could probably start testing around 6dpt. I love that there are so many POAS fanatics on this board!

5-DAY TRANSFER:

1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

I feel numb at the moment, just after arriving home from ET.. i was in the table when i've been told that my emby didnt divide today, still 4 cell egg they observe it this morning and at 3pm.. no change.. im on 3dt, but still they suggested it to be transfered hoping it will divide inside me.. i ask if we could wait to blasto stage.. they are afraid it might not survive in the dish.. better in my uterus and see how they go.. im sad.. very sad.. RE is straight forward.. if this doesnt work.. they will do ICSI in 3mos time.. my other 3 eggs doesnt seem to make it either.

kline,

sportsmom, LMAO!!!!! It's not funny and I do wish AF would hurry up for you, but your muu muu and "cut me so I can bleed" sounded like something I (and members of my family) would say. I seriously laughed out loud after reading that  Must be a southern thing

Thanks for the laugh!

sportsmom- I can not believe af is still not here! they won't let you start until she shows? I will be doin a little af dance for you.

kline- I am sorry to hear your news, but of course I am going to say try not to lose hope. They do say embryos tend to do better in utero, so maybe your embie will be just fine. You did not do icsi this time? I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

trying- congrats on being PUPO! I updated you on the list. If you are already asking about hpt's, then I am guessing you might give in and do one...it sounds like this thread is going to have a P-ing OAS marathon!

sbr- omg- I can't believe that! I would also definitely go get checked out...especially with a headache...don't ever take chances with that stuff, better safe than sorry. I bet your embies are just fine though, even though I would have freaked too, everyone is right, they are in the safest place they can be. And yay for POAS! Tell us what happens...

Lee- I am so happy to hear that you and dh are going to adopt, that is fantastic...I am so happy you are going to be a mom! Please keep us updated on how that goes.

ok...i will talk to you all tomorrow

Ok Ladies-- My ET is at 8am tomorrow. I still am having doubts becasue I feel that getting pregnant this soon may increase my risk of preterm labor, but I am always going to have some risk of preterm labor so I have to take this opportunity to complete my family. Our one embie is looking great and we will thaw and transfer one of the frosties....I am not transferring more than two becasue I really am trying to avoid twins this time. Three kids under 1 doesnt sound fun! Anyway, I'll take what I get! Wish me luck! I am not going to be able to pick up my baby for 5 days!!!!!I can still hold him, but Dh is in for a rude awakening!!!

Thanks everyone for such a great welcome! I'm very glad to be part of the discussion....

CT_Michele - My dates are: start Lupron 4/10, stop BC 4/14, baseline ultrasound 4/24 & start stims, tentative retrieval 5/5, 5/6, 5/7 and transfer 3-5 days later.

Thanks for all the encouraging words about me doing this w/DH deployed! Hopefully this discussion board will keep me sane :D

I'm nervous about starting my 1st shot in the morning, seems sureal now, like after waiting so long.....the time is HERE!!

UPDATE: I called my RE after school (I'm a teacher) to let them know what happened and to double check if I should be seen. He said that because of the drugs I'm on, I have a higher blood volume, so I should definitely go to the ER to be checked out. Well, FOUR HOURS LATER, I'm fine and I evaded the CT of my head. I told them I'd have my husband watch me like a hawk! If I'm still suffering from a headache tomorrow or have increased pain, I should go back in. So, I guess I was glad that I called my RE because who knew that the meds would make a difference in a head injury.

With all that being said, DH's car is undriveable so we have a rental...had to get a new carseat because ours was in the accident and not safe anymore...come home to a two year old who now has a weird rash and has spiked a temp!!! This day needs to end!!! Off to bed....
