I just found out yesterday that I do have an eptopic pregnancy. I will find out tomorrow when my surgery will be. Does anyone know how long after that I should expect my next period and/or when I can start my next IVF cycle. These are questions I will ask my doctor tomorrow, but it's always nice to hear from people who have been through this.
Eytbol8 - I'm sorry you had ectopic. I'm not sure how long they make you wait since I've never had one. How far along were you when they found out it was ectopic?

Thank you. It's been a very emotional month for me. First a great cycle with high hopes of course, then a negative pregnancy test, then a positive pregnancy test weeks later, and now it's eptopic. I had a little bit of a weird situation. I am about 4 weeks, but not certain after these events. I had my first IVF cycle later February/early March. It was a fast, paper perfect, cycle. My transfer was on March 9th and my day 10 pregnancy test was a BFN on March 19th. I stopped all my meds and a few days later I had a heavy period for 1-2 days only and spotting for a few days. Follow-up with doctor on March 24th he noticed some fluid near my right tube that he determined was a hydrosalpinx. We decided I would have a Laparoscopy surgery. My surgery was scheduled for last Friday 4/10 and I went for my pre-op at the hospital last Monday. They took blood and a urine pregnancy test. The doctor’s office called me Thursday to say that my urine pregnancy test came back POSITIVE. I ran over to the doctor’s office to take a blood pregnancy test that also came back positive with a # of 324 and my surgery has been canceled. I went back for another blood test Saturday and my number only increased to 438. I spoke with the doctor he says I show all the signs of an ectopic pregnancyand I will have an ultrasound tomorrow and we will talk about rescheduling my surgery.
My surgeon told me we could start 8 weeks after my surgery. My period came as scheduled, removal of the tube doesn't (or shouldn't) effect your menstrual cycle. Good luck!
