First U/S 5 weeks no yolk sac seen

Post by ntrlmystc79 »

Hi ladies-I haven't posted in a while. I just finished up my second ivf cycle and so far so good! I am happy to report after 2 embryos were transferred as 5 day blasts, both implanted. I just had my first u/s, 5 weeks 1 day, and they saw 3 sacs! Yes-one of the embies split. One was seen with a yolk sac and the other two no yolk sac. Could it be too early to see a yolk sac with all of them at 5 weeks?

I am at 9 weeks and now have two sacs with two heartbeats.

At week 6, I was told there was only one sac and we may have lost a vanishing twin.

At week 7, I was told there had been a second sac, but it died at week 5.

Now, I have had three ultrasounds with two sacs with two strong heartbeats, though one sac is behind the other and the doctors do not know what will happen.

With all of the technology, so much is still left to fate. Our biggest lesson has been to take it one day at a time and not try to read into anything or predict. Anything could happen - good luck!
