calling all potential April Buddies

Hi All,

I about to start this whole rollcoaster ride of IVF - hopefully in April. I phoned the clinic this morning for my initial scan and they have given me an appointment for next Tuesday - I had forgotten how quickly things move. I had also forgotten these feelings of excitement, worry and nerviousness all rolled together. I almost feel sick!

Anyway, if all goes well I will hopefully be starting in April, so in search of a few buddies

what day is your scan. It sounds like we are in the same position. My scan is Tuesday and I am also hoping for small cysts.

We are waiting for af to arrive on 3RD April then we will be starting our 4th treatment our 3rd ivf, we have had 1fet.
We had our last treatment in Jan where we had a bio-chemical pregnancy we have never got that far before so hopefully they weill stick around next time.
I asm on the march tread but I think I will be better here as most people have already started treatment so I'm behind so if it would be ok could I come and join you guys?

HI there!
I take first injection next weekend - then wait for 10 days for af to come - then 5 days later start dailies. So I thnk that makes me an April buddy

Am still slightly in denial! Cant actually believe I'm about to put us thru it all again.

Have found myself spending alot of time thinking about what it would be like to not have children and that perhaps there is ANOTHER WAY OF life - without them - I suspect this is a defense mechanism!!

This will be our 2 nd go of ICSI with TESE to remover DH sperm surgically. We only got 2 embies last time - and no PG. Am fairly pessimistic about our chances but you have to try dont you? We havea donor back - up which we may of course have to use to make some embryos. I think at thins stage we would freeze them rather than implant them - as my DH not quite ready to "give up on himself" as he puts it - just year.
WE'll see what happens. SOOOO many unknowns huh?

Anyone doing anything special to help their chances?
I did EVERYTING last time -chinese meds, acupuncture, reflexolody, no booze last time - none of it worked!! This time have done NOTHING!! Altho have cut booze down - VERY DULL!!

Hi Caz and Gem,

good to have a few more buddies onboard.

It is interesting Caz that you said you did everything the last time and nothing this time (except reduced alcohol) cos the last time I did very little as it was our first time and we didn't really know what to do, but this time I am trying all sorts. I went to reflexology on Friday and I am sure it does actually stimulate the organs as my ovaries felt exhausted. She also taught me where the important reflexes were ie ovaries, tube and uterus so I have been doing them ever since. Does anyone know if there is any such thing as over doing relexology

I have also eliminated alcohol so a sobber time for the April Buds

how are we all doing?

Traci, have you had your scan yet and FSH donw?

I had my scan this morning and absolute incredible news - my endometriosis has completely disappeared I just cannot believe it. I was only hoping that the cysts had not got any larger. I was never expecting them to tell me it had disappeared.

So now I am awaiting AF and then starting cycling in April - I reckon about 19th!

No news from me. Waiting for Sunday and first injection.

O By the way , when I said I have stopped drinking, I mean during the week only!! I have been allowing myself a couple of glasses (only!) on Saturdays - I mean whats life for otherwise!?

First injection on sunday - and going to a nice dinner on Saturday trying to figure out whether it would harm to have a A glass on Saturday night? Dunno!

Gem - pleased that you're cycliing with us - I think we overlapped a bit last summer. lets hope we all get there this time - WOULD love to be able to see this thread into the future!...or maybe not!

Brill news Trace, you must be so excited. I am almost ill with excitement (not sure the word to describe the emotion - but I know you all know what I mean!) and I only managed to get told that my problems have only been reduced by one third!

Anyway, it sounds like Trace and Caz are steaming ahead in the ACB league table - don't forget about Gem and me when you are celebrating those +ve results

Hi girls - think I will be an ACB too! Am awaiting next AF which is due around beginning of April and will be having DIUI so I guess the procedure will be around the middle-ish of April. Look forward to sharing our experiences with you all!!

Hi Girls,

Well, I'm in hope for April/May, which will be my 5th cycle. I'm awaiting for AF at beginning of April so will be sniffing just after that.

Gem - we have had the same number of cycles, we are having assisted hatching this time if we manage to get more than one embryo, are you doing anything different? I've just got some chinese herbs and tea and booking acupunture although I should have probably done it before now, I'll try and get in as much as I can before ET. - (The cost is enormous!)

Karen - Brilliant news about your endo, so pleased you are so excited.

Traci - Great that you have made it at last, looking forward to some of your candles.

Caz - Hi mate, good to be cycling with you again, lets hope it our turn this time xxx


Just a note that I won't be a hard core poster though! Being an old hand at this and lack of time means I won't be posting as much as you guys I'm afraid, but I will pop in on a daily basis to keep and eye on things.

They have put me on the pill!!! only cause I only had a 17 day cycle last time and they need me to go to day 21 to start downregging , I have got an appointment on monday to find out more about everything, I am excieted now as it was all a bit of a shock at first and wasnt ready but hey ho its an omen , it found me not the other way round !!!

What fab news , I think we just expect the worst all the time cause we are always let down , is AF around the 19th ? you wont be far behind me OMG I am gonna be first to test unless Milli gets her DIUI done before , Panic Panic anyway you dont need to post alot as long as we know that you are ok , we would never forget you
