excited-in-la - Good news that your second little one is holding on! From what my RE said, being a few days behind isn't necessarily a bad thing. Could just mean a late implanter. Thanks for the POI tips - but the only good thing that came of my doctor getting worked up was that she told me I could stop taking the shots as of yesterday since Wednesday was supposed to be the last one anyway. So I'm done!! DONE!!

My sister was on a blood thinner shot for a while during her first pregnancy because she has a genetic blood clotting disorder. All I know is she was having an adverse reaction of some kind and stopped taking it, and didn't use them at all during her second pregnancy. I could ask her about it, though.

we had our ultrasound yesterday and all is well - a strong heartbeat of 175. what a relief. It is so funny how everyone we come in contact at our ob/gyn office is always trying to figure out our due date for us. Like we don't know!

Wondercat - i am allergic to "latex-free" band aids too! I'm okay with regular band-aids but was send the latex-free ones with my stims once and had band-aid shaped red welts all over my stomach until I figured it out. I've always wondered what was in those band-aids because I'm not allergic to anything.

excited in la - I'm so happy for you and your two - especially the one hanging in there! I'll be sending you good thoughts.

ianmichael3 - good luck on your ultrasound and the wait. I know it's torturous.

cristi, so glad to hear that the u/s showed good news. what a relief.

I actually stopped the PIO shots last week at 7 weeks, which I thought was way early, but I am still on the suppositories. I was so happy to get to stop those damn shots! My hips and rump are still healing, I feel like they are going to be healing for a long time!

excited, very glad to hear your 2nd one is still staying snuggled in.

wondercat, boooo to allergic reactions! how odd. is the skin feeling a little better now?

hope the rest of you are feeling as well as can be expected, and are keeping positive and happy.

nicole, I'm so with you. I haven't had an u/s since the 3rd, and my next one isn't until the 20th, which isn't that long, but feels like it's FOREVER. I'm trying so, so hard not to be worried or anxious, but it is just impossible. I too have had steady nausea, feeling tired, odd cramps here and there.

Last week I had one day of bad cramping and it scared the crap out of me. But, no spotting, so the Dr said I should be okay. AAAAAHHH the worrying. Monday can't come fast enough, for a little peace of mind.

Excited in LA - Great news about your u/s!

Have any of you thought about having the nuchal screening done or any other tests like a CVS or amnio? I had my first appt. with my OB and they gave me information on all of them and asked if I'm interested.

I'm still having nausea as well. The nurse gave me some different samples of prenatal vitamins to see if any of them agree with me better. Let's hope we all get some relief in the second trimester!

Hi all. Thanks for your good wishes.

In our ever moving rollercoaster, we are just back from the perinatologist with yet another wrinkle.

The first sac is an "A+". Everything looks great!

For the second, he is concerned that it is behind. He said at this point we just wait and see. The heartbeat is strong, and he said normally with a chromosomal abnormality, the heartbeat would stop between 8 and 9 weeks (we are at 9 weeks now). We go back next week for another ultrasound. They did a papsmear and culture and took about 12 viales of blood (I think my husband almost passed out). It was fine for me, except that I felt like Wondercat when it took the idiot 6 pokes all over my arm and hand to draw blood - then she lost it and had to stick another needle - then there was a "bad viale", so she needed to draw more. No kidding, it took her 40 minutes. I thought the nurse was going to kill her!

The perinatologist said we just need to take it week to week. He is planning on running the first trimester screening tests at 11 - 12 weeks and will decide on a CVS based on those results and what is happening with the second sac.

My fertility doctor had warned us to be cautious with CVS unless it is necessary. He said the risks with an IVF pregnancy are much higher with CVS and that an amnio is far safer.

So we are just waiting to next week. At this point, we feel very blessed for the strong pregnancy we have, and think that anything else would just be an added blessing.

Thanks for everyone's good wishes. It really helps! Hope you all have an uneventful (in the best sense of the word) week!

excited in la: You have the grace of one of my coworker's, I swear. Your post sounds so even kealed! Will be hoping and praying that little one is a fighter!

aspot of tea: Thanks for the encouragement! I can't wait to hear about your next u/s on Monday- if I make it through this week :)

cristi: Thank you too! I'll just be so much more assured when I can hear and see that little heart beat and hopefully it measures right on target! I secretly harbor wonders of there being two, but I highly doubt it!

wondercat: oh man! As if shooting yourself up isn't bad enough- YIKES!

Hang in there girlies!

Hi Ladies,

sorry I have not checked in for a while. I have been feeling reaaaaallly
tired, but I guess that comes witht the territory.
I am really excited that you are all doing well.
Congrats to all of you who had a great ultrasound check!
Congrats to those who are done with their progesterone shots!!

I went for my 9 week ultrasound on Monday and everything looked great!
I will be honest with you guys. Since I miscarried one of the twins at week 6, everytime I feel any type of discharge (which is normal from the vaginal capsules), my heart just starts beating faster and I run to the restroom to check for any bleeding. But I am also trying to keep a positive attitude for my sake and that of my baby.

CHARR: regarding the tests, I am 39 and my OB is DEFINITELY recommending an amnio. Unless one is ready to deal with any abnormality that the baby might have, it is the wise course of action. Of course, there are risks involved and to be honest, I don't kow how I would feel if something happened beacause of the test to an otherwise healthy baby. But my husband and I decided to take that course. The wait for the results of the test and to see if any harm was done to the fetus in the process will probably be as hard if not harder than the 2 week wait or the ultrasound ckecks after the bleeding. But what can you do?

Have a great week everyone. Hearing how well you guys are doing gives me a lot of hope and strength.

Hi All-

ok, I didn't bleed or spot at all with my son, but I worked out yesterday and came home and later in the evening had some blood mixed in with some of what I'd call that clear cervical fluid..... *warning* TMI: it was bright red streaks in clear mucous........

It came about 2-3 hours after my workout and i only had it when I "flexed" my kegel muscle and bore down--- which maybe I shouldn't have done?? I only did that because I had a TEENSY-WEENSY bit of pink tinged progesterone 'discharge' come out naturally.... and wondered what might be going on- ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've called the RE's office and left a message for the nurses. The only thing I'm thinking they can do is potentially move up my u/s to maybe Monday.......................

I'm sick to death and totally freaked out. My husband is a rock and thinks I'm over reacting and that each pregnancy is different. God love him.
Of course I just cried and couldn't sleep and now have a beautiful headache that I've evidently 'gifted' to myself. :(

What do you guys think??

I feel like, if it isn't going to work out- I want it out NOW. Then again, I just pray and hope that I really am overreacting.

ianmichael3 - So far I have had two episodes of bleeding, one was a gush of bright red blood followed by a frighteningly large clot, then a smaller clot. That was around 7 weeks. Then a week later I had another flood of bright red blood, no clots. Both times it tapered off and stopped on it's own. I also freaked out both times and had ultrasounds. Both times everything was fine. My nurse practitioner said that the cervix is more "vascular" and is more prone to bleeding that is kind of like a nosebleed, especially if you do something that makes your blood pump faster, like work out or have sex. So I know first-hand that the bright red blood can be incredibly scary, but most definitely not necessarily a bad thing.

Hang in there. It sounds like maybe you just aggravated your cervix a little from working out. Take it easy the next couple of days. Get your husband to spoil you a little. :) I know from experience telling you not to worry at all won't work, but at least try to think about other things to keep your mind off of it as much as possible.

Ianmichael - I had a couple of weeks where I had bright red blood every day and prior to that it was just pink. My doctor finally figured out she thought it was from taking baby aspirin. I stopped taking it and the blood stopped soon after that. My OB also told me that the cervix is very sensitive and bleeding isn't uncommon, especially after intercourse. I would try not to worry too much. They may move up your u/s which would help give you peace of mind.

Thanks Char, you are probably right, along with everyone else. I probably just over reacted..... the terrible NMA (negative mental attitude) is just after me- I just am really afraid of being the first one to report a miscarriage in this group of BFPs :(

I will do my best not to worry, but I'm just too good at it!

Nicole, hang in there. I know this wait for the next u/s is the longest ever. I do agree with the other ladies here, I'm sure that everything is fine. Like she said, poor Wondercat had all that bleeding (and scared us all for her!), but thankfully everything is good for her and the pregnancy is good and healthy!

Did your Dr office call back yet?

Okay so this was weird- warning TMI- okay this morning, I was putting the progesterone supp. in, and I swear I felt like I poked something in there on the right side. It was so weird. That stick isn't that long! Could it just be things are getting "full" in there? I also don't know if my ovaries have calmed down yet. Last u/s they were still big. Now, my right side feels a little sore.

Now I'm worried to have sex with my DH. I have felt so queasy we haven't been able to lately. I don't want to "poke" anything!

aspotoftea: HA!

Of course things are getting full in there!! But of course if it worries you, it's always best to call, right? DH and I haven't just because we're both so tired, but I can tell he's just waiting to pounce!

AFM: yes, the office called back and said to take it easy and that it was probably just too much activity for my cervix. so, I'm going to try to keep breathing until next week.

On a side note: I SWEAR it feels like I gain 5 pounds by the afternoon!!! I'm really starting to get uncomfortable in my pants (I'm 7 weeks and usually a size 6 or 8)..... I think most of it is from my digestion slowing down b/c of the progesterone suppositories! Oh well! I'm sure I'll wake up one day with a noticeable pooch!

XOXO,
Nicole
