tww - 14/17 days ?

Why is my tww actually 17 days ? The test date's not a mistake, as it says 17 days on all the paperwork from the hospital. Yet, I've noted that for some of you other guys (Angelina), it is just the 14 ? An extra 3 days of agony....

I think it depends on whether it is a blood test or hpt.........I believe you can test earlier with a blood test(or could be the other way) but am not 100%

Every clinic does things differently...not much help I know, hopefully it will be worth the wait

p.s forgot to say it may also depend on what stage your embryos are at at transfer, if Blasto I would imagine you can test earlier...

i cant answer your questionim afraid. My clinic do a pregnancy test on day 14 and ive opted to do mine at home. Another three days is a bit of a drag but hopefully it will be worth it!!

hpt=home pregnancy test
Blasto-this is when they let embies divide etc for about 5 days(I think) before putting back in-increases success rate but is risky as may not survive

My 1st clinic did a wee test on day 14 but my new clinic also do it on day 16/17 , its agony waiting isnt it !!!! if its a +++ it will be worth the wait .

How frustrating Sand. I did a hpt (Home pregnancy test) on day 14. I had straight forward ivf (no blasto or anything). Give your clinic a ring and ask. 3 extra days seems mad.

My clinic says 16 days after egg collection. But so far, I have always been bleeding by that day. But this time I WONT BE (thats just me trying to be positive !!!!)

Your clinic sounds like mine - they like to be cautious - mine wait 16 days after transfer regardless of whether it is 2day transfer or blasto (5plus) or FET (frozen embryo transfer)without drugs which mine was and should not be needed to wait that long - I did a hpt the day after af was due but then that was a natural cycle frozen so easier!
They can blood test earlier but mine said they like to be on the safe side - by this time the HCG levels should have risen nicely - otherwise they might see a problem and have to bring back in for retesting.
They are all different. It's agony whatever!
