I am almost 13 weeks pregnant, and so far no problems. I was referred to a new doctor, and they started out with a urine pregnancy test. After two test both came back negative, so they proceeded to an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed my two babies with good heartbeats, and measuring on time.
Still concerned I bought a pregnancy test, and that is also showing negative. When I first found out I was pregnant I took a bunch of test, and all went to positive immediately. After having the ultrasound at the doctors office he told me not to be concerned but I am. First I blamed it on their test, but when I took my own and it came back negative is when I started to panic.
My understanding is that your bhcg is not readable after 12 weeks or so. This is because it peaks at 8-11 weeks and then drops as the placenta starts to take over the role of maintaining the pregnancy.
I wouldn't worry at all about a negaitve test and just be stoked that you have two gorgeous little hearts beating away in there. Thats the only sign you need that all is going well.
Congrats on your twins - they really are the best fun!

Wow that makes so much sense, and makes me feel a lot better. I wonder why the doctor did not think of that. It also crossed my mind later in the day that maybe they don't give that many women who are 13 weeks a urine pregnancy at the office.
Molly,
That is so strange but I like Xrayem answer. I don't see why your Dr office was giving you a pee test when you are 13 weeks anyway. Seeing the the 2HB is what really counts. Glad to see your pregnancy is uneventful.

To Have Fun, it is so good to see you, and I hope everything is going well with you.
I called my doctor today about doing another HPT at home and it being negative. They told me not to worry, but of course I am worrying. I also did a digital test and it came out positive, so I am even more confused. Even though the placenta is taking over the pregnancy I read there should still be plenty of HCG in your body throughout your whole pregnancy.
They called me this afternoon and offered to do a beta test, and I thought I would have to come in. Instead they called the lab and added that to the blood workup. I should know something tomorrow. I asked what will they do if I have a low beta, and I was told not to worry since my ultrasound looks great.
