The scary shots are PIO shots (progesterone in oil). I also got scare of those but I think I wont have to do it this cycle don't know if it's good or bad
Hi Ladies!! I was wondering if I can join you guys?? This is my first time doing IVF and I'm kind of lost!! Here's a little about me. I'm 27, husband is 28, we have been trying almost 2 years. I started my BCP last week and start Lupron Thursday 4/16. As of now ER is May 14th and ET is the 19th. I'm excited, but getting very scared also! Insurance isn't paying for any of it, so this may be our only shot, so hopefully it works first try!!! Anyway, hope you ladies are all doing well!!
Hey C &C ,
We are also getting our first IVF and our insurance doesn't cover it as well:(I am already on lupron and ER and ET is around early May ...good luck !!!
hey , actually yesterday i saw a big bruise on my belly right aunder my umbilicus ..i guess i popped a vein .. it looks pretty ugly but doesn't hurt at all ..do u alternate sides ??who does it for u .. I do it myself and to be honest ,it's not that bad ..also do u hold the skin in between ur index finger and thumb when u r injecting the needle cause i feel that really decreased the pain for me ..
DH do them for me. Yes, he holds the skin in between his fingers and he does it one night on my right side and next on my left. I also have a bruise on my right side. But I'm not using my belly Only my thights. The last two nights he had to step on my feet because 3 nights ago I moved it when the needle went in and he stepping on my feet and me not being able to move it at all helps me with the pain
Poor DH!
I was posting on the other forum from March/April but if you guys don't mind I'm going to join you.
This is also my 1st IVF like so many of you ladies! I am on Lupron now since last Friday, will start stims on 4/24 and ER scheduled for 5/5, 5/6 or 5/7 So far Lupron shots are going great, I sure hope all the other shots are this easy
I look forward to sharing this experience will all of you ladies!!

Did you tell me you are regular? how come is not here yet?
Yeah, well I "thought" I was regular. I mean, its only been 31 days since my last AF. So i guess I shouldnt stress, but I sooooo want to start already!!!! Argh.
why aren;t u doing it on ur tummy ... believe me it's alot easier and less painful ... did ur doc tell u to do it there??? my nurse said u could do it either on thigh , on your triceps , or lower abdomen but she said they prefer lower abd . as it's less painful there..
Just started my Lupron today....I must say that it wasn't as bad as I thought....I actually was able to give myself the injection. However, my husband laughed cause he said it looked like a was trying to perform rocket science...lol. Good luck to u all!
Hi Ladies~
I hope you don't mind if I join. This will be my first IVF and my Re said my ER would be end of May, I just started BCP. My DH and I are both 24 and he has a low sperm count, other then that everything is fine. Since this is my first IVF cycle I am so nervous because I do not know what to expect at all!!! All you ladies seem really sweet and I am wishing you all BFPs in the weeks to come
for those whose insurance doesn't cover it (like us!!) our RE said that they first time was the most expensive but that if you had fertilized eggs left over that the second time you don't have to go on as much medicine and its less expensive. hopefully we won't need a second time but...if we do it shouldn't be as much. or if the first time works and you want subsequent children, you shouldn't have to pay as much if you freeze the eggs.
