welcome home carolyn +2!! How do you feel? Happy Birthday to your DH! In 2 weeks, you'll be giving him the best gift with your BFP! Take it easy the next few days while you are off and give those embies the chance to get nice and cozy! Keep up the PMA and sending you sticky baby dust!

I am still taking everything till the end of the 12th week, which will be next week -- low dose aspirin, progesterone suppositories, estrogen, folic acid, prenatal, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc & selenium...I have my appt. next Thursday and will see what the doctor says-- Looking forward to taking fewer meds everyday.
My doctor said I am coming into a critical stage, as I had numerous fibroids removed about 5 years ago and the scars are still there -- and we just hope that the uterus continues to be able to expand like normal, thus giving the baby enough room to keep growing -- So, not out of the woods yet.
We have yet to spread our news and are waiting till the doctor says that the pregnancy is stabile before doing so. It isn't easy keeping this secret!

Poohgirl & Sabi - so glad everything is moving forward with both of you! You are absolutely right --it is all about, hurry up and wait!! Which can drive you crazy, till the time comes for your transfer, then all the hassle of the previous weeks and months seems like nothing. I think it is great that you guys can be cycle buddies!! Looking forward to following your progress.

gigi - hoping that AF comes soon for you, giving you the chance to move forward as you want to. Have you talked to your RE about giving you something to get AF started, or would you rather just wait and let things happen as they should? Perhaps that is better.

to jenB, chriss, kelly, luanne - sending you all and everyone reading a big hello and wishing you lots of sunshine in the coming week,

xx summer

Carolyn your HOME!!!! and PUPO!!!!! PMA coming your way--2 weeks until your BFP I have a good feeling that this is so going to work for you! Happy B-Day to The DH! Congrats on the freeze that is a good problem to have!!

Sabi--your right that is 22k and that doesn't include meds---and that is one of the less expensive places around here. I have insurance but it does not cover infertility, but most of my diagnositic stuff was, so blood work and my hystosonogram and all that stuff. In Wisconsin there are no manatory coverage so very few if any cover anything with IVF, which sucks. Our plan is to drive our future children by the fertility clinic and show them why they can't go to college  kidding of course, but seriously you would think they go put a plaque by the sonogram machine-paid for by...

Summer--I am happy you are coming up close to that 12 week mark, I totally couldn't keep it a secret for that long!!!! You keep gestating :D

Hello to everyone else---I suppose I should get back to work

Poohgirl,
I was thinking that the 22K included the meds. I'm scared!! I know mine is going to be in that range maybe more. - NOT INCLUDING BROKER & DONOR! Insurance pays for pretty much nada!! Drive by & wave @ The Fertility University! haha! We worked & sacrificed to save the money but this is our "rainy day". dh & I are so excited about the possibility of having a family. This will probably be our one & only shot- says dh- so I'm thinking baby, baby, baby......
Carolyn- congrats on your freeze babies!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!! It's your turn girl!!
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! It's really nice to know that your not alone- helps tremendously!! Hi to all the ladies I missed!

I'm running again....
catch ya' all later!!

Smiles!!

Hi everyone,

Just read all of your posts. Great job Carolyn. Wow, we never got blasts either, you must be thrilled. Take care of yourself. Think good thoughts.

Gigi, it took me 8 weeks post d&c, then Re had us wait three months before he would let us try. That was my old RE. Not sure what my new RE would say. Healing physically & emotionally takes time. I know you already know this. Hang in there.

Hi guys. Nice to hear that things are happening for people. It's nice to have cycle buddies.

Hi summer, wow, I can't believe how much time has gone by. You are almost 12 weeks!!! WOW!!!

Just got back form 3 night stay at a spa in Conn. with DH. We had massages, took yoga & meditation classes and just plain relaxed. Felt good. Looking forward to an Easter when we have basket/s to fill:)

Hope you are all well. I thouhgt it was Spring!!! We've had almost no sun. Any day now the weather will take a turn.

XO

Jenbabes- love all the glitz for Carolyn-how cool!
Gigi- how are you today?
Chriss- Sounds like a marvelous week-end, I'm jealous.
Poohgirl- After the tests, do they coordinate donor/receipient cycles?
If you & I are close- what kind of date did they give u 4 transfer hypothetically?
Carolyn- Still grinning from cheek to cheek about your frosties!!

Is it really Spring? It's raining, dark & cold here, YUK!

Smiles everyone!

Hi girls,
congrats Carolyn on the frosties! That is a very good sign for you! We also have them and it somehow made me feel more relaxed, like I knew I would get a 2nd chance if the 1st one didn't work and I was never in that situation before. Keep up the PMA! I think the meds make you hungry, and after your BFP, it will be the growing baby -- I've noticed my hunger attacks have subsided in the last week (finally!).

By the way, when is your beta?

sabi & poohgirl - Is there any way to deduct the tmt from your taxes, since insurance doesn't cover much, if anything? It is awfully expensive there! Do hope you both have luck on your upcoming tmts and end up with BFPs. You both seem to have a great sense of humor and openness, which is really nice.

chriss - hey there! I'm sure you'll have a great time making an Easter basket for your little one/s, come this time next year. Your weekend away sounded absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

As of today, I am 12 weeks along. Can hardly believe it myself! It has been terribly hard not to spill the beans, but just in case something were to happen, the less people who already know the news, the better. We are just following the advice of my doctor -- In some way, it is also nice to have such a great secret. Everybody is different.

Sorry to hear so many of you are experiencing such terrible weather at the moment -- that can only mean it is coming our way very soon! But some rain would also mean that I would get more done in the house and wouldn't always want to be outside!

Hi to gigi, jenB, kelly, luanne and everyone reading.

Have a great rest of the week and hope the weather gets better where you are!!

xx summer

yehhhhhhh summer is 12 weeks and now officially in the 2nd semester   - congratulations honey although will still keep everything crossed for next weeks xx

Chris - your weekend sounded just fantastic - just what the doctor ordered - my DH would hate anywhere like that but is more than happy for me to go with friends instead

Sabi - remind me where it is you are from - nothing in your signature  - yesterday was lovely here but today is dull - am off shopping

Gigi - doing an AF dance for you - where is the witch when you need her to arrive

Pooh/sabi - and I thought IVF in uk was expensive - here you are very lucky to get state funded as such tight criteria - we have paid out of pocket for all our treatment - average cycel including drugs here is about £4.5k for normal IVF - ED IVF is about £7k   - as you have to apy for donors drugs and treatment too

Jen - hows you - did you have a nice relaxing easter weekend - did you do anything ??

Need to go - will be back later xx

Hi everyone! I was invited to this thread by summerbaby. I am considering donor eggs and had some questions. Just some back ground info first. Had tubal 11 years ago after my 2nd daughter, never thought we would want to have more childrend but we really do. I have been through 4 ivf cycles and only made it to transfer one time with one 4 cell and got bfn. I am low responder and low quality probably because of my age, I am 40 years old. DH is 36 with no problems.

I guess my most important question is this, what are the chances of bfp first time with donor? I know with regular ivf they have to change meds and protocals and it usually takes a few cycles to get it right. With donor being sooooo expensive it would be nice to know that it usually only takes one cycle. I know there are no guarentees but im just looking for statistics.

Has anyone on this thread gotten bfp with donor first time?
