I went today for my b/w and u/s for Lupron. So tomorrow I start stims and continue on Lupron. ER should be at the end of April.

yeah all those symptoms are normal...it does sting and u get the itchy feeling afterwards ..

estrelitta , waw that's great news !!! must be excited ...what dose of lupron are u taking now ??? good luck !!!

I'm using 10 units of Lupron and tomorrow I lower it to 5 units. Then tomorrow I start with Bravelle and Menopur
It's exciting and scary 2 shots daily!
Tuesday I have to go back for b/w and u/s

estrellita - I'm two days behind you, starting stims on sunday. It looks like I get 3 shots a day, though. Lupron and Follistem in the morning and Follistem in the evening. Let me know if you start having side effects right away.

everyone else - I'm glad there's an april/may board going on now. I hope you're all doing well!!

statsgoddess I think we will be one day apart. I start my stims on Sat (tomorrow). 3 shots? when the nurse did my blood today she laughed and told me: "you should be used by now"! I told her: "I wont get used to needles" I'll let you know if a get side effects hopefuly it won't be that bad, well, anything for our babies

Have a question , since yesterday i've got an itchy throat and a bit of a headache so it seems i am getting flu although it's not bad at all.. Is it ok to have a cold during ur cycle as I am on lupron for the last 12 days .stims start in three to four days ..what should i do ..is it bad to have a cold during ur IVF cycle

i went in for my u/s today to measure and count follies. i had about 8-10 measuring 5-10mm. does anyone know if this is decent. the doc said it was and that we were right on track but i was just curious how many follicles were a good amount? i add ganirelix to my routine monday night and have another u/s on tuesday. so looks like egg retrieval will be next saturday or maybe a day or two sooner. so--anyone else have u/s to count/measure your follicles?

Hello! I am new to this thread. I had an unsuccessful cycle in February. DH and I are ready to try again. My first cycle was the Lupron protocol (standard). I just met with my doctor and he is changing the protocol to microdose flare. This protocol is more aggressive in getting eggs. I was a poor responder. I only had 6 eggs, 3 fertilized. We transferred all 3 embies and unfortunately BFN!!!

It seems that a lot of you have questions regarding injections. I was the same way. I gave the Lupron to myself in my stomach. They never bothered me, but my stomach did get a little tender after awhile. I did my stims IM. Again, those did not bother me either except there was stinging when the medication went in. I had to stim for 14 days because I was a poor responder. But, I think most people will stim anywhere from 10 to 12 days. I also did the PIO injections for 2 weeks IM and those were a lot easier than the stims. It is amazing how it becomes second nature to you when you are getting so many injections.

Looking back on our first IVF cycle there are things that I would have done differently. I was one that never questions a doctor. I always believed that the doctor knows what they are doing and they are so busy that I didn't want to bother them. But, I totally feel different now. DH and I went to the only clinic in our city and followed everything that our doctor told us to do. When we met with him to go over the failure, he wanted to do the same thing. There were things that he couldn't remember about our cycle. It really made us feel like a number and not a person. We then met with Dr. Goldfarb at the Cleveland Clinic. He wants to do everything differently. He really took the time to put us at ease and answer all of our questions. Needless to say, we have changed clinics. So, moral of the story.....ask lots of questions and get second opinions. I really wish that we would have. I really wish that we would have.

In having said all of that....I am not trying to be negative at all to the IVF process. It is the key to dreams of having a family. I just wanted to share our story so that you could all learn from it and not make the same mistake.

Hi Everyone - Just joined this site.
It's my first IVF cycle.
Start Suppression March Was on Birthcontrol March 10th
20 u of Lupron April 4th
April 16th - went for supression check
Started Menopur & Reduced Lupron to 10 u.
April 18th - Froze DH's sperm as back up for retrieval date.
April 19th (today) - went for first ultrasound. Over 10 follicles.
Estimated Retrieval is 4/26 - 5/2.

Faith hi! I think you shouldn't worry about a cold. But just make sure with the nurses when you get a chance. You told me to let you know how I am doing with the stims. Well, don't like them the injections are more painfull than the Lupron and my thighs hurt. I haven't have any other simptoms, only minor headache. And also the first night (Sat) like 2 hours after my first stim I started to feel hotflashes and thirsty but only for about 3 mins and not sure if it was the med

estrellita - i second not liking the stims. DH has been doing them in my stomach and it burns afterwards. Yuck. I've had a headache as well, but it seems like that's been a constant with the Lupron anyway.

faith - i wouldn't worry about the cold. i had a stomach virus when i went for my supression check and they didn't worry about it.

sarahd - sounds like you and i are will be pretty close together as well. my ER is supposed to be sometime next week.

mom2luke - sounds like things are going good for you so far. good luck and keep us posted!

anxious - glad you found a clinic that is treating you better. we had the choice of two in our area and after some research and talking to people who had been through the consultation at both places, we made a pretty clear decision.

I'm so happy now
It's my bday! This am I woke up DH before leaving to work like every morning because he leaves after me. He didn't say happy bday or nothing. Then I called him and we spoke and he didn't say nothing. He work not even close to my job and we live far from here. So at almos 10am I was already txtng him to tell him he was the only one who forgot my bday. And the receptionist called me to go to the front. And there he was with 2 bouquets of flowers I felt like crying! I was about to start a fight with him
