Having a panic - I had a FET on the 10th April and have just eaten quite a lot of chocolate (easter clearly a bad time to do ivf cycle). I am in the 2ww and worried that the caffeine in the choclate could affect the outcome - has anyone been advised not to eat chocolate? I've just read in Zita West that you should avoid it. The caffeine (or the worry) are certainly keeping me up.
Any advice very welcome

Hi Tams,
I think you will be okay, try not to panic or feel bad about enjoying the goodies in your Easter basket. I think Zita West says, that if you want/need to eat chocolate, it should be good quality, dark chocolate and can be eaten in moderation.
I am sure you will find women going through ivf who still smoke, who still drink plenty of caffeinated beverages, and eat chocolate everyday, and still go on to get their BFPs!
I'm sure what you ate wasn't bad at all. In fact, I think it is a good sign that you just acted naturally and didn't categorically deny yourself a little indulgence.
The 2WW makes even the most confident of us, so unsure!
But, today is a new day. Keeping looking forward and try not to dwell on it.
Best of luck to you!

I wanted chocolate like crazy during my 2ww....and boy did I eat it! I even drove 25 minutes to a store to get my fav. chocolate covered cookies. After my 2ww, I had a BFP and I'm now 5 weeks along and going for my sonogram April 29. I read in "What to expect when your expecting" that you should drink no more than two cups of caffine a day while pregnant. So I think you'll be just fine!
Women who get pregnant the old fashioned way are still doing whatever they want during the 2WW(because they don't even know they ARE on a 2WW). My best advice after several cycles & finally success with a beautiful baby boy is to try to relax and spoil yourself as much as possible. Eat your chocolate and all of your other favorite foods and do your favorite things. Remember to take time each day to deep breath, focus, clear your head, and let the tension go out of your body. You need to feel as good as you can and take care of yourself now, you've just been thru a lot with the IVF.
You've done your job, now it's your embie's turn. You're not going to do anything to ruin it at this point. If it's meant to be, it will happen.
Baby dust & best of luck,
