Okay, I'm sitting here after lunch trying not to eat anything else. I can lose weight, I can lose weight, I can lose weight. I don't think I can lose weight! It's the first day of my "diet" and I'm staaaaaaaaaarving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help.....
If anyone can send me a quick and easy method to get rid of the jelly belly it will be most appreciated. But it must not involved giving up chocolate or anything sweet. Is it bad to eat chocolate in front of your baby? I feed Amelie grapes for dessert and then I hide behind the pantry door and eat chocolate so she doesn't see me.
Mustn't get her into bad habits - so far she has her dadda's genes - long and lean!
All going well with settling her into creche - the nursery is small and only has a max of 8 babies and the girls are very nice. She's taking a while to get used to the noise around when she sleeps and still gets a bit surprised when other littlies crawl up to her and poke her but so far so good.
I'm not back at work until May so have a bit of time now to get organised - cleaning out cupboards, paperwork - all those things that you never get chance to do. So feeling very productive.
We are off for a family holiday in Queensland and the in-laws are coming too - yay baby sitters! They are soo excited as they haven't seen their only grandchild since Oct (they don't live in Oz).
Have put off ivf cycle for another couple of months at least - need to settle back at work and decided to continue b/feeding until Ams is 1 - to ward off any bugs she might catch at creche - she had her first bout of diarrhea the other day, only lasted a day but it was TERRIBLE - she was fine but I was in tears after the 7th nappy.
Difficult to know what to do - I had a "milestone birthday "recently so time is not on my side but at the same time we can't rush these things - and we do still have 2 frosties.
Ah well - that's all from me. Hope you are all well. Jenn and Nickster - hope your pregnancies are sailing along nicely. Keep us posted. And who is going to be the next preggo sister? Fee? Tina? Meggo? Vicky? I am going to say.............Fee!
Good luck with the dieting - I should join in but it would mean giving up the choccies and as Easter is on its way, there's no chance of that!

Thanks Jenn for making me feel better about killing the thread ......hopefully it won't happen again
I also want to go on a diet, but the same one Angie will follow, with chocolate and all of that, is that ok??
Come on Meg, you can do it!!!........maybe some sista support will make it
Angie....have a great time at Queensland!, send some pics afterwards so we can see how Ams is growing...About who is going to be preggers next, it won't be me probably, my idea is not to start looking for #2 until after I finish my first year of residency, so I still have a year or so to get started........talking about that........question to all of you, do you actually use some kind of protection?, given that I had to go through 4 IVF's to have Ben I am not using anything, if a miracle happens it will be more than welcome anyway, what are you guys doing if you don't mind me asking....

no protection in our house Vicky (except for not getting round to it very often haha!) We are of the view if it happened naturally we would be very blessed and very happy.
How many sleeps does young Ben have these days - it is difficult work out if Amys needs 2 or 3 - she's hardly slept at all today and is currently protesting in her cot, where I put her coz she seemed grumpy and tired.
Oh well - not complaining - she is brilliant at night and sleeps for 12 hours so anything more in the day is a bonus!

Ben also sleeps 2-3 naps a day, mostly 2, one in the morning (around 9am) and one in the afternoon (around 2pm), each lasting about 1-2hs. At night he is sleeping also 12 hours, which is a blessing, as you said, except for yesterday, that out of a blue he woke up at 3am for no reason, hopefully it won't become a habit....

Just in bed typing after finishing a bar of chocolate off. I have shoved the wrapper guiltily under the bed (where no doubt it joins other chocolate wrappers...) I am signing up for a boot camp next week hopefully (with my mate who has just gone through a second failed IVF) we both want to be in top shape for our next goes.
Mego, do you get more starving if you know you are on a diet? I know I do. It sucks, i hate being hungry.
Tina what is the nutrisystem? Will it get results? I need max results with minimum effort. BTW your facebook pics of Noah are gorgeous! S orry about the teething dramas, I am going through abit of that now, Rio will not eat! (unless it is chocolate)
Angie thanks for your tip of being the next prego, I sincerely hope you are right! by the way I have heard in the media that the govt is thinking about messing with the medicare safety net so we are out of pocket more $$ for IVF than currently, way to pile more pressure on us! I also hide when I am eating chocolate lest Rio should see me, I feel like a closet drinker or something. No cure for jelly belly from me I am clueless, I suppose it wouldn't hurt if I did a few damned crunches but I can't be bothered.
Vicky no protection being used in our house but then there's not a lot of action going on here either, all too tired! I hear you on waiting to try for number two, it is hard to plan a preg when you are also working. At least you still have time on your side!
Jenn, how is the nursery looking? Once DH is done please send him over to our place, we have a fair bit of painting that needs doing, is he free not this weekend but next?
Hello all! Well, Nutrisystem is working...I have lost 2 big, fat pounds in a week. I am thrilled! I am on my way! Nutrisystem sends you your food for the month, so you just eat it and what it has done for me is help me to control my portions! You pick different items for breakfast, lunch and dinner....and snacks and desserts. Most of it is pretty good, though I do weird out a bit on the eggs that are powder in one moment and then BAM - 60 seconds in the microwave - and PRESTO - Eggs!!! But they are pretty good. I tell ya what...it showed me that I was eating way too much. For instance, I ordered some cereal packets for breakfast and I swear there is like 5 bites of cereal. My fat a-- used to fill the damn bowl! No wonder I was not losing!!! Anyway, I am doing good on it and so happy to have lost a couple of pounds already!! I will keep you posted on how it goes.
Noah is good - getting over a stomach bug. We thought it was teething!! But no - poor thing had a little bug. But he is back to his old self! I can't believe he will be 8 months next week. Time flies!
Fiona - Hiding wrappers??? Oh honey, I remember when I was pregnant and I would finish off a quart of ice cream and then throw the container in the garbage can outside. Oh, the shame.....hmmmm.....I wonder why I gaines almost 40 pounds when I was pregnant? Hmmm......
Vicky - Noah is finally starting to take good naps! It is nice. He used to hate naps!!!
Angie - Glad to hear you are going on vacation - ENJOY!!
Meg - how is the losing weight going? I am just pleased that for once I am sticking to something.
Jenn - I can't believe you have such little time left!! Are you ready for the sleepless nights again????
Nickster - how are you??? I am sure you are starting to get tired. I can't imagine having two in my belly - I thought Noah felt like 12 babies. Then again, I was as big as a house. Might explain it.
Ok, Need to go make up with my husband. Noah was fussing before bed and he marched into Noah's room and told me what I needed to do. As if!! I mean, that was the 2nd time today he did what I felt was criticizing me for something I was doing with Noah. Annoys me. My husband is a bit paranoid when it comes to Noah and I suppose I am much more laid back. Can create issues from time to time. Oh well, I can't help it if I am perfect, can I???? hee hee
Take care all!!!

Glad to hear everyone is starting to lose weight. Definitely cannot say I am with you!! I have really started to get big in the last couple weeks. We went to the doctor on Wednesday and I gained 8 pounds in a month, yikes!! They also did an ultrasound and we still have a girl and a boy. We're thinking Mason for the boy and Emily, Lily, or Kelly for the girl. DH loves Lily, and I do to, just not sure if that would be so cute for a teenager! So much to think about!
I'm still feeling really good and hoping that continues. I have to say, so far I have absolutely no complaints! It's really been pretty easy.
Nickster- glad you are still feeling good, that is great!! I feel like a whale! I like Lily too, but that could be b/c a friend just named her little girl that and she is precious! I like Mason, I don't hear that very often.
Tina~ Great job on the nutrisystem! maybe I'll try that after I have Sam. I need to lose weight b/c dh and I are going away to vegas for the weekend as soon as I feel comfortable leaving the baby and Anna. Which I think will be in late Fall. The egg thing is a little spooky though!!
Fee- I have been hiding wrappers this entire pregnancy! I thought I was alone in that. Glad to hear I am not the only closet eater!
Angie- Enjoy the vacation!!
Meg- how ya doing?? How is Lucy?
Ok- my c-section is scheduled for June 4th at 7:30 am. WOW! It really is real! Only 6 weeks after this Thursday. Still have no nursery furniture, they assure me it will be here by his birth... BTW I think his name is Samuel. Don't know if I shared that yet. Gotta run. Anna is STILL SLEEPING!! and it is almost 9. Maybe I can get something done around here.
Oh - that's hilarious. Had to add my contribution about the wrappers - I hide carefully under the other rubbish in the bin - or usually straight into the wheelie bin outside so DH doesn't see - especially if it 's a whole packet.
Had a great holiday - now have to start unpacking. Ams was very angelic in front of nana and grandad but played up a bit at night - I had 2 nights of only 5 hours sleep - terrible! But once home she slept her usual 12 hours so we are all good again. I think it was the porta cot next to our bed - doesn't like having her mum and dad as room mates!
She learnt to clap on holiday which was very cute and went for her first swim in the pool .
Must run - loads of chores to do and 2 weeks before I go back to work - yikes! Will post holiday snaps soon.
Glad to hear the sistas are doing well.

PS Fee - I too have heard the rumblings about withdrawal of funding - it's not good to hear at all. Part of me feels we should rush ahead and get in before it's too late but I do not feel ready at all. Plus my acu lady wants to treat me for 2 months first. It's all too hard. Blah blad - stoopid government.

Ugg! I have a new respect for women who are pregnant in their 3rd trimester during the summer months. The highs are only in the 80's here and I swear my body is 20 degrees hotter than that! I am tiring a lot quicker with this heat! I am lucky to be delivering in June!!! I don't think I could go much farther.
The baby furniture is being delivered on Tuesday YAY!! So that is one more thing to knock off my list. I can't wait to see everything together. I'll post pictures next week. Oh that reminds me I have a good family picture from Easter I'll post it right now.
lovely family photo Jenn - what a happy snap. Take care in the heat - cold wet tea towels round the ankles worked well for me!
Just recovering from Amelie's worst night since she was a new born - she cried from 8pm to 1am and finally fell asleep with DH on the spare bed. That will teach us to take her to party late in the afternoon just before bed-time. It was a grown ups party with entertainment for the kids so she went in a butterfly tent with lots of excited 3 year olds, who also all gathered round to watch her eat her dinner and stroke and kiss her - all bit much for her I think (and me - time to hibernate for winter methinks!)

I'm bumping us up I'm sick of scrolling through all those download program messages. What's up with that?? I wish those people would stay off our site!
My nursery furniture came. I am still waiting for my chair though. I ordered it after the furniture b/c I could NOT decide on the fabric for it. My friends are having a girls night out/shower for me tonight. I can't wait!! I am lucky to have such great friends. After tonight I will go on my final shopping spree for last minute things and be done! My mom and sister are coming this weekend to help me shop.
