ianmichael3 - Yes, OMG it feels like I'm suffocating in my pants by the time I leave work! I'm pretty small (usually a size 0 or 1) and I have had a significant bump since week 4. Right now I'm wearing these jeans that may or may not be maternity - they have a "roll top," but they're a size 5 juniors brand. So unless they're starting to manufacture junior's maternity wear...?!? In any event, I don't know how people in my office haven't noticed anything. It's pretty obvious to me.

aspotofTea
- I think on this board it would be pretty hard to offend on the grounds of TMI! :) I haven't had to worry about the ill-effects of sex because I get nauseous enough lying still right now! But he has definitely been eyeballing the new, improved boobs. (Wait... Was that TMI??)

I have to wait another THREE WEEKS for my next u/s - and the last one was two weeks ago. I'll probably be a wreck by then.

Nancy - Thanks for your response about having an amnio. I'm 37. My doctor has me starting with a nuchal screening. It's not for another 2 weeks though. Glad to hear your u/s went well!

My thoughts and best wishes are with everyone. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Ladies! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I had another US on Tuesday and had the shock of my life: TRIPLETS!!!!! Yes, triplets. Apparently, one of the babies was hiding the last two ultrasounds. So instead of fraternal twins, I have a set of identical twins and then another baby in a separate sac. I am happy, but now even MORE anxious and worried about this pregnancy (if that's possible).

I knew that this was a possibility, but what are the odds of getting triplets when transferring 2 blasts??!? DH keeps joking that we "really got our money's worth."

I'm just hoping and praying for 3 healthy babies! I have another ultrasound next Tuesday. I'm still only 9 weeks, so still 2 more weeks until I see an OBGYN.

Agree with the comments about belly expansion. By 4pm, i look like I'm 6 months along!

nursegator - Oh my god! You must be in complete shock! When was your last ultrasound when they didn't notice the other one? Ironic - I had just talked last night to a friend of mine who is having twins in June. I told her how I'm showing already, and she started teasing me that maybe I have twins after all. I said no, I've already had ultrasounds and there's definitely only one. And she went on to tell me that she posts on a site similar to this, but for multiples (hers are natural) and that she was shocked by the high number of people who were told there was only one on their 6, 7, and 8 week ultrasounds only to find a second one hiding in there a few weeks later. Honestly, I was telling my sister about it today and we were both like "yeah, right." Boy, we were wrong!

Which one did they not see, the fraternal or identical twin? And what kind of ultrasounds did you have before?

You certainly did get your money's worth!! Keep us posted. :)

Ianmichael Hang in there and just rest. There are so many reasonss for spotting, do not try to read anything into it. I do understand your sentiments about having it go either way just so you know. I feel the same way about our second twin right now. There is really nothing you can do but wait. Good luck with the upcoming ultrasound - we will be thinking of you!

Nursegator Huge congrats!!!!!!!!!! That is amazing. We transferred three (now pregnant with two). My RE had insisted that he would only transfer three if we agreed to consult with a perinatologist if we were pregnant with three, which we did (and we are going to him anyways because of the twin and the complications with this pregnancy). I would definitely recommend that you find a pernatologist who specializes in multiples, as it can be a totally different ballgame - and you just want to be sure everyone is safe and healthy!

I threw up last night for the first time - not fun! I have been so nauscious and queasy, but was feeling lucky to escape the vomitting - apparently no more! I got back in bed and my loving husband says "So I guess a blow job is out of the question" - you think!?!!? We both started laughing. You really need those lighter moments :)

Hope everyone is having a restful weekend.

Nursegator:

Congrats! I am very happy for you.
The day after I lost one of the twins, I had an u/s and the OB thought he might be seeing still 2 twin, one embryo that might have split It turned out though because of the bleeding from the miscarriage, he was misguided and the last 2 u/s confirmed just one heartbeat.

Hope you ladies are doing well. Not too much nausea or spotting to drive you crazy! ( I had very little spotting on friday)/

Are you guys getting a lot of discharge from the vaginal capsules?

Have a great weekend.

Nancy1: Hope your little bean is settling in and growing big and strong! I do have a lot of discharge from the progesterone suppositories. I have been on them since transfer, though, so i guess I'm kinda used to it now! Actually today is the first day of "weaning" off the progesterone-- I go from 3 to 2 suppositories a day for the next week. I hope and pray my body knows to "take over", since my RE has never checked my progesterone levels.

Excited: thanks! I see my RE a few more times and then a regular OBGYN for the physical. I *think* the OB-GYN then refers me to the perinatologist. I am being seen at a military hospital, so all my choices are really out the window! Luckily, all of the doctors I've seen there have been excellent, so far. The other wrinkle is that DH and I will be transferring to California this summer, so i will have to start all over at the military hospital there (while also trying to set up our household. Ugh! I hate moving.). Sorry about your vomiting! I've been super lucky (so far) to have escaped with 24-7 nausea that subsides a little after I eat. so i basically force myself to keep eating all day long-- so far, it's worked, but not fun. i feel like one of those force-fed foie gras geese. lol Funny comment from your hubby!

Wondercat: I had 2 ultrasounds previously, one at 6w1d and one at 7w1d. It was the identical twin my RE missed, in the sac closest to my cervix. The angle made it difficult for him to find even the first baby on the 7 week ultrasound (my uterus is retroverted, so that may make a difference. Not sure). He saw it at our 9w1d ultrasound, but at that point-- it was totally obvious. As soon as he inserted the vaginal wand, there was the sac with definitely 2 separate shapes. He quickly pointed the wand to the other side of my cervix to confirm the other baby in its own sac was still there too. I couldn't believe it! My RE is pretty conservative with transfers-- this is only his 2nd set of triplets in 6 years (same thing happened to that lady- identical twins plus one after she had transferred 2 blasts). DH and I are pretty consumed right now thinking about the logistics of things-- not many vehicles can accommodate 3 car seats. Will be selling both cars and buying minivans, if everything goes well for my little three:). I have another ultrasound on Tuesday. BTW, I have my maternity shorts on now and whew! what a relief. Finally, I have a good excuse to have a pot belly;). Who knows, maybe you DO have twins. There could be a baby 'hiding' behind the first--they are so tiny at the 7 week stage anyway.

excited-in-la - That's so funny about your husband's comment. He sounds like mine! And I would bet that if you had taken the bj comment more "seriously" he wouldn't have said no! ;)

nursegator - Oh geez, I do have a pretty significantly tipped uterus that could be hiding something. Eep! No, I don't honestly think they missed another baby. I had a scan at 8w1d, they would've spotted something. I finally bought maternity jeans yesterday that I am blissfully wearing today...

On the car seat question, I have been looking into small car seats because our second car is a Mini Cooper. I found a Combi car seat (http://www.combi-intl.com/Products/Item.aspx?Item=12) that claims it's compact enough that you can fit three in the backseat of a regular car. Short term at least maybe you could get one minivan now and not have to pay for two brand new cars at the same time.

it was me, I had an appt this morning.

Well, there are two in there. We could see them in their little sacs. They are growing right on target, both are at the same point. Our heads are spinning a bit, we knew at the last appointment, but to see the little beans in there, growing and hearts beating.......made it all the more real that we are having twins!

nancy, yes, I have discharge, and oddly enough, it is at the exact same time everyday.

nicole, how are you feeling? Wednesday is almost here, so hang in there!!

nursegator, WOW! three of them! take care of yourself. Congratulations on the three little peanuts!

how is everyone else feeling? hope you haven't tossed your cookies again, excited!

aspotoftea: WOOOOHOOO!! What good news!!!!!

I can hardly wait til Wednesday, and it really just hit me that no amount of any kind of worry is going to change anything. God has a plan and I can get through this, like many other difficult things. It won't kill me, right?

Ok, so just remind me I said all of this after Wednesday's appointment :)

Hi ladies,

I am glad to hear that you are all doing well!!!!
Thank you for putting my mind at ease regarding the discharge issue.

The weekend was a bit eventful. I had spotting on Friday and Sunday. went to the OB today (regular OB, 1st visit). I was supposed to stop the capsules today but since I had the spotting, my OB said it was ok to continue for one more week, but definitely NOT more than 12 weeks.
Then he said he wanted to do an ultrasound. Well, he couldn't detect anything on a regular U/S so he told me to wait a little while as he was swamped to take his time and do a vaginal one. After about 45 minutes, went in. As he was doing the u/s, I could swear I heard him say "the baby's dead". My heart alsmost stopped. So I said "no more heartbeat you mean?". He said "no, what are you saying. I said the baby is there".
Well, the word THERE sounded much better than DEAD. Anyhow, needlessto say it was a big relief, then whenwe left the office, DH and I couldn't stop laughing. Just thought I'd share this with you....

CARSEAT issue: My brother has a Wolswagon Passat and he comfortably fits 3 car seats there so don't worry too much.

Have a great weekend ladies.

Nursegator - Congratulations on triplets! I know you and your DH must be overwhelmed. Take good care of yourself and those three little beans.

ASpotofTea - Congratulations on twins! That's very encouraging that they're both growing at the same level.

ExcitedinLA - My DH and I got a good laugh over your husband's comment after you threw up. Thanks for sharing!

I go back to my OB this Friday. He said we should be able to hear the heartbeat then. Have a good week, ladies!

Oh GEEZ, Nancy! You sound just like me! I would have probably started crying hysterically- you did well to just confirm what the doc was saying! I'm so glad you could laugh about it afterwards!

I'll be reading my way through until tomorrow's ultrasound at 1:45pm. UGH! Still trying to shake the negative thoughts.
