Update on me- started Femara April 2-6 and got my first positive on a home ovulation test in 2 YEARS!!! on April 16. I get to test on April 30. I dont know what to think, I feel fine but my nips are big (sorry if too much info) and it cant be the meds bc im not on any ha ha
Oh well, I will keep ya'll informed. Congrats on all of the BFPs ladies! I knew this was going to be a good room.
Me 25, DH 27

IVF 1- BFP, MC@9 wks
IVF 2- BFN
husband laid off- no infertility coverage
3X with femara, all BFN's but has regulated my cycle and FINALLY got positives on ovulation test
Currently on my 4th cycle with femara
waiting for 4- I am glad to see you back. I am a little confused...are you in your 2ww now and your beta test is on Apr 30??? What do you mean by positive on an ovulation test, I know nothing about those. Update us on your progress and what has happened since your consult.
faith- thank you for the comments about ella...I happen to think she is adorable too...but I may be a bit bias...lol
Neffi- I am so sorry to hear about the bfn. I know that you were kinda prepared for that, and you will be moving on and trying again real soon. I understand about not wanting to waste time, so I hope you get to cycle again soon...I will be watching out for your updates.
I heard from the lab this afternoon and it was pretty good news. Even though it took them over 2 hours, they managed to find 12 "twitching" sperm, so icsi was done and we will get our first fert report tomorrow. There was no extra sperm in the fresh TESE sample to freeze, but they did not have to thaw our frozen vial, so we still have that...even though it is unlikely we will ever use it. So now I wait for news...and of course I will update you all when I hear something...
ok, off to watch some reality tv..woohoo..it is so funny right now, we are one sore couple! So many groans from both of us everytime we stand up or move...hopefully we will both be better tomorrow.

4th IVF - Fall 2011??
Hey Guys- Just wanted to let you know I got my beta back today and it was a BFN again. I was prepared for the call, since Sunday my breast tenderness dropped significantly, I was bloated and crampy like AF is coming. I took an HPT on Monday morning and it was negative. I just knew from my body there was no hope and stopped all meds last night.
RE says when I get AF I am to call him and he is going to run a bunch of blood work to test for things related to autoimmune and blood disorders that cause infertility. He says based on beta I am not even implanting. We have had great quality embryos, so we don't really think that is the problem, although it always can be.
I know some questions get asked on here and we can't respond, but I really need your help and support. Here's my question: With the girls that have had at least 2 or more failed IVF/FET cycles, what did your doctors do differently, test for, or suggest? I would love to hear of any successes after two failed IVF's which is where I am now, and extremely frustrated and discouraged.
Neffi- Thank you for thinking of me today. You were in my thoughts also. I see that you have had many IVF's so any suggestions would be great. How do you keep going and still have hope? I just never thought we would be in this boat. We just always thought our egg and sperm never got together to tango, and since we bypassed that, we figured we'd be mega fertile IVF'ers.
Well sorry to be such a bummer. I'm just discouraged. I will say looking at my 6 year old is a saving grace. I am starting to realize more and more how much of a miracle he was to us. It took us 14 months to conceive with him, but it happened naturally, so he's a blessing to us.
Well I better go before I continue to depress everyone. Thanks for listening,
Melanie
Melanie, I've been waiting to see your post all day. So sorry for you BFN I know you had a neg hpt, but I was still praying for a miracle. You are in my prayers tonight and I know with the help, support and experience of the ladies on this board, you'll find what works for you.

Melanie - I'm so sorry to hear your news, hun. I was really hoping for a BFP for you this time around. I'm pleased to hear that your RE is going to run some tests to see whether it is implantation which is the problem, do let us know how you get on. Will you try and cycle again as early as possible or take some time out?
Neffi - likewise, so sorry about your BFN news. When will you know about timing of the uterus evaluation and when you get start cycling again?
amfmbaby - welcome to the thread, you've come to a good home! Sorry to hear about your aunt, it must be very difficult to try and do IVF and devote your energies to that at a time when there is so much going on with your family. As you say, I'm sure a BFP will give everyone the lift they need. I'm afraid in the UK I was on a different set of meds so I can't comment on yours, but there are plenty of ladies on here from the US who will probably be able to. I took Synarel to down regulate (which I didn't much enjoy because of the side effects), then 150ml rising to 225ml of Gonal-F to stimulate (which was fine and didn't cause me any side effects) and Ovitrelle to trigger (again, fine).
Michele - I'm SO HAPPY for you that they managed to get enough sperm so that you didn't have to waste any of your lovely eggs. Now we cross our fingers for all 12 to fertilise... Hope both you and DH are less sore today!
faith - good luck with starting your stims today!
statsgoddess - yay for stimming to you too. How are you finding it?
aims - twins, WOW! I'm so excited for you! Has it sunk in yet?
estrellita - good luck at your u/s tomorrow, I'm looking forward to hearing how those 20 follies are getting on.
ianmichael - good luck at your u/s today, update us all when you can! And, yes, I'm so excited about our long weekend away. We try and go twice a year if we can (out of season, to avoid crowded beaches) because the dogs absolutely love running around on the beaches and in the sea and so we love it as well. It's always a very low key weekend - each day, we have late breakfast in the hotel, pick a different beach to drive to, walk for a few hours and have a sit on the beach, wander back to the hotel (sometimes via a pub or after browsing some village shops), shower and pick a village pub to go to for dinner. The dogs happily settle down and sleep in the back of the car while we're eating, because they are exhausted from racing around in and out of the sea! This coming weekend has been booked for about 6 months (since the last time we went there, in fact!) and we weren't sure whether we were going to have to cancel it because of the timing of our IVF. But as it turns out, it could not have come at a better time because it will take both our minds off the 2ww for a few days!
Anyway, the sun is out again today so I'm planning another day of taking it easy in front of the TV with a little bit of time in the garden. I don't want to overdo it though, I've read that you're not supposed to sunbathe when in the 2ww (or when pregnant) but I don't know where you draw the line between sitting in the sun (OK) and sunbathing (not OK). I'm assuming that I can sit in the sun for as long as I like provided I don't get hot and sweaty, but I'm not sure whether that's right. Anyone got any ideas?

goodluck on ET... grow embies grow! best of luck!
i'll be off on the thread for a while, to refresh myself! thank you everyone!
Good Morning Everyone! Melanie and Neffi Sorry about your BFN Wish you the best Amfmbaby Welcome to the thread and Good Luck Michele That's great that all eggies got fertilized! Praying for your BFP Hazel That sounds like a good long weekend, enjoy it and yes try to avoid the sun
Michele- YEY!!!! I'm so glad they found enough sperm for all your eggs. I hope the fert. report today will be great, let us know! Are you feeling better today? what about your hubby?
kline- so sorry to hear about your AF . I hope the 2nd cycle in July will bring you your BFP.
aims327- congrats on twins! How exciting!!!!
hjw- I have no idea about sunbathing or sitting in the sun. I asked my doc if i can go tanning and he said NO. I'm so jealous of the sun, its raining here for 2 days
amfmbaby-yey for finally starting. GL with you cycle!!!!!
melanie_100- so sorry about your BFN . I had one failed cycle before this one and all my re did was change my protocol but I think my issue was quality since i have PCOS. Sorry couldnt be more help. And you'r not a bummer, you have every right to feel this way, I think your in good hands with your RE, it looks like he's trying to find out if there's any other issues from your b/w. I hope they'll find out whats wrong soon. Big hugs to you.
waiting for 4- Did you ever try Clomid before Femara? I'm just curious because i did couple of cycles of Clomid and nly ovulated once or twice on it, I asked my RE about Femara and he wouldnt give it to me, I heard many great things about it. Wooohooooooo for the + on ovulation test! are you also charting your BBT? There is a great website with charts from other women with their cycle its called ovusoft.com under community and cycle charts I used to compare mine to theirs all the time and found it very helpfull. GL hopefully you'll get your BFP this time!!!
Neffi211- so sorry about your BFN , big hugs to you.
AFM- I'm so stressed out no b/w this week at all, and of course I'm stressing out if my #'s are going up well I guess we'll see monday. I'm soooo bloated that when i sneeze or yawn my tummy hurts so bad lol other than that I'm a little nauseous but depends on what I eat ... anyone that got a BFP has any symptoms?
Melanie 100: This journey IS discouraging- don't you ever think for a moment you are bringing anyone down, we have ALL been there. Have faith. I am in a similar spot as you, as it took us 10 months to conceive our 6 year old naturally. I truly believe he is a miracle & that now more than ever EVERY day I have on this earth is a gift. Just keeping putting one foot in front of the other, that's all any of us can do. I'm lifting you up, girl!
amfmbaby: You go girl!!!! I say you're on the right track!
hazel: You just make your getaway sound even more and more delicious!!! SO jealous!! I think it's wonderful it worked out the way it did. I think you've got the understanding of what's sunbathing versus sitting in the sun correctly.... you don't want to raise your temperature!
Michelle: You two do sound sore, I hope you can both get some kind of amusement out of the whole thing- laughter is the BEST medicine!
Kline: best of luck, thoughts will be with you!
I will be sure to post the results of my u/s for heartbeat measurement check today. The appointment is at 1:45pm Indiana, USA time.
By the way, a couple we are friends with were pregnant with their 2nd child, conceived naturally, in the 2nd trimester and she just found out it stopped developing 2 weeks ago. I have no idea how to take this news and am grieving for my friend. You think you're out of the woods once you get that far along, so I cannot imagine how difficult this is for them.
Melanie-- Its hard to say what works....my third IVF worked and I now have my DS. I thought that we figured out what to do, but I just got my BFN, so who knows? I am just going to keep trying casue I know it can work! For us, we thought it was switching from doing ICSI, plus we also did assisted hatching. But we did both of those things this time too and BFN, but its always a 50% chance. Even if everything is right! Dont give up hope, I know that feeling....its awful, but if you can, keep trying casue its so worth it in the end when you are holding your baby!
CT Michele-- I saw you put down my BFN, but we are going right into another fresh cycle, not a FET...we didnt have any frosties....we only had one embie! Glad to hear that you got 12 sperm....cant wait for your fert report!
AFM--RE insists on an evaluation on my uterus this time so if we want to still do the cycle I have to do ganirelix when I get AF and then when the bleeding stops I can have my eval and then start stims....I hate to change protocol...but I have no choice. We are hoping to have cobra coverage for a possible June cycle if May doesnt work.

Hey guys - just got back from my first u/s after starting the stims. I have 4 follies on the right that are over 10mm, then on the left side I have 2 over 10mm and 3 under 10mm. They said this was good, although I don't really know what I'm supposed to expect on the first check. Any thoughts???? Will the little ones get big enough in time to give me some eggs??
The good news is that they said I am responding really well (I guess the sizes of the larger ones?) and that they think I will be ready for ER earlier than expected. They are thinking Monday or Tuesday. So I'm back for monitoring on Friday and Saturday to see if I get my trigger on Saturday night, which I think is what they are expecting.
Hazel - The stims kind of burn for a minute after they go in, but other than that, not too bad. How are yours going?
