Everyone,

What is the average wait for most of you to actually get your egg donor? Our clinic is 6 months. Wondering if that's shorter or longer than most.

meanwhile, I don't even have AF yet...patience is something God is teaching me to work on daily.

Hi Gigi,

I think 6 months is an average waiting time that the clinics give until you get your matching donor.
Our clinic had also told us, that if we hadn't heard anything from them within six months, to get in contact with them -- On the other hand, we were surprisingly matched sooner than that, so you might also have the same luck!

Gigi,
Six mos sounds right. One hospital in Cleveland said that the IVF'rs were dropping like flies while the donors were pouring in. She said it would be less than 3 mos. I went thru a private broker to find a donor. I think it just depends. hope that helps!

good morning Carolyn,
sorry to hear your 1st attempt didn't give you the 2 lines you were looking for! It could very well be just a tiny bit too early.
I am sure tomorrow or Wednesday will give you different results! It took a really long time for the 2 lines on my tests to really show themselves, they were so, so faint at first. So please, please don't give up hope!! I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Sending you a booster shot of PMA and baby dust! xx summer

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! I'm finding that the hardest part of DE so far is the waiting. I guess we are realistically looking at August for cycle time. I wanted this to happen yesterday!

I am reasured about my sister donating a little - I was totally mistaken thinking she was currently 32 yrs. She's only 31 which is good. I'm always trying to make people older than they are.

Wishful - very sorry about your hpt - I wouldn't give up hope just yet as it is a tad early.

Hey guys,
Carolyn, it is early. I know it's tough, but don't make up your mind yet. Anything is possible. Breathe. Thinking of you.

Carolyn--It is too early don't give up hope yet!!! I know my RE have told me who tested neg on HPT and got a Postive Beta so there is still hope---PMA PMA PMA

Sabi--How did it go today? Did you get a clearer picture of what will happen??

JDC--Welcome, It is nice to have a sister to donate!! Where are you from??

Gigi--My clinic has there own donors so all we had to do was pick the one you want, they say from the time we pick to transfer is about 3 months--not sure if that helps.

Everyone else (summer, jen, chriss) Hugs to you all!!

Good Morning!

Sabi - how was your appt on Monday? When do you expect to get started? Didn't you at one point say June? Like Poohgirl?

Gigi - hope the RE will give you the go ahead to get AF started using meds, if that is the best option for you right now. Good luck with your appt. this week.

JDC - good luck with the upcoming testing for you and your sister.

Carolyn - thinking of you today and sending you lots of PMA as you go through your 2WW. Don't work too hard, remember you are still PUPO!

Have a good day, girls! The sun is finally shining here, which puts me in a good mood. Hope the same for all of you. :D

Good morning eggies,
pooh & summer thank you for thinking of me today! Yes, 4 hour appt is finished. .....wait one minute...girls, somehow someone forgot to mention all the shots!! Not fair! I was shocked. 12 week of shots??? every day in the belly?? Are you kidding me? OMG! That was a hard pill to swallow. I was aware of some of the shots but not this one. When AF arrives I call office for bc pills they are going to coordinate cycle w/donor- schedule ultrasound & they will tell me when to start lupron. Looks like June, no? So far so good. Getting ready for school. I'll catch up tonight.
Carolyn- 3 more days till BFP- I just know it!! Keep the faith girl!
Enjoy your day everyone!

Smiles!

Hi sabi -
I guess every clinic has their own protocol. I didn't have to do any shots with DE, only regular IVF.
The shots are a bit intimidating at first, but they become just part of the routine and soon you'll be doing them like a pro! I have all the confidence in the world that you can do it.
Your clinic will usually give you a class on how to administer the shots. If not, make an appointment to have one of the nurses show you how to do it, once you get the meds and are ready to go.
Believe it or not, but you can also find videos online (either self-made or from the company that makes the stuff) that show how to set up and give yourself the shots, everything step by step.
Hope that information helps! Sounds like you guys are good to go!! Hooray!

Have a good day at school! Are you a student or a teacher? xx summer

Sabi--I hate to tell you the bad news---it is 12 weeks of progesterone and that is a long needle usually in the butt  I have to do a couple of weeks of lupron while I wait for the donor to stem. lupron is easy and in the tummy it is a small needle and doesn't hurt. the progestrone is scary looking but isn't as bad as you would think and by the end it isn't a big deal. I am sure your clinic will have a class or someone to teach you and hubby since he will likely be doing the progestrone.

Have a great day at school!!!!
