AF Sickly Feeling

Post by Sand »

Hi All

I'm looking for advice (and reassurance !) please ..

I'm now on day 5 of tww and have had period-like pains right through which I'm putting down to being normal. Last night though, I had this awful sickly and weird feeling in stomach - the sort of feeling I usually get a day of so before AF. Don't mean to be crude, but in the loo, too, I could smell AF smell. I wasn't imagining it. AF wouldn't be due until next Tues 23rd and test's due on 29th.

This morning I don't have this feeling as much and no spotting/blood as yet.

I wondered if anyone else has had these pre AF signs which have then just disappeared ?

Also, if AF is going to come, should it be around the due time as I'm pretty regular, or might it be earlier ..?

Thanks everybody
Sand

Hi Sand
Don't worry... I think a lot of us have af like pains in the 2ww. It's often either the pain still from ec or just the hormones you're taking. Unfortunately I had a-ve and my af came after my test but from what I've read everyone who had +ves still had these pains.
Hope this helps a bit. Please don't worry. Lots of PMA.

Im with susan , think of this as a possitive sign , stay calm , imagine that they are bedding down for the next 9 months, this all helps , push those negitive vibes to the back of your mind . PMAPMAPMA I know its hard but it does help Really

Hi Trace, Kathryn and Susan

Thanks for reassurance, it really does help .. Could go stir crazy otherwise, or maybe I'm already there (?). Back to work tomorrow, so that should take my mind off things.

Sand,
It all sounds normal. Everyone of the positive FCB's had af pains. Discharge does vary as well - are you on the progesterone pesaries?
If you are negative af shouldn't come until day 14 (or when you stop the progesterone). However, don't stres about this too much because there have been lots of girls who have had bleeding and spotting and still pregnant.
The 2ww can seem like for ever, but you will get there in the end with a BFP.
All the best

Hiya Sophie-Jane

Thanks for info. Yes - They're Cyclogest Progesterone pessaries. So, I think I can relax a tiny bit now. Everytime I go to the loo I'm expecting AF to have started, but as it's not due until 23rd anyway I'm probably worrying unduly this week. Will be more positive !

How are you keeping Sophie-Jane ?

Sandra -

Don't worry, these pains are perfectly normal. Like many many others, I had them (and bleeding/clotting) and am now mum to Sam!!!

Rest up, drinks loads of water and try to stop worrying....(I know it's hard, but try!)

Angelina !

My hospital didn't say anything to me about doing / not doing anything during the tww. Just to "carry on with normal activities", so it's a bit freaky seeing all these does and don'ts posted.

Hiya Angelina

It's really strange 'cos I keep getting the sickly AF feeling (as well as the twinges etc that I've had since ET), then it just goes away. Sophie-Jane said earlier that if it is -ve, AF shouldn't come until normal date. So now I'm wondering if AF is just sitting there waiting patiently until 23rd, as it knows this...! See, I'm losing it ..

The twinges I'm getting are on on both sides, so I think ovaries must still be recovering from EC ? I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but I had an even-ish number of follicles opened on each side, so even-ish pain on each side ? My boobs aren't as sore now as they were last week, which perhaps is worrying ?

So, conclusion :
Pain = Worry. No Pain = Worry. There's no answer to all this except remaining positive. Roll on Wed 24th, then we can all celebrate your good news !

love
Sandra
