Just waiting for results from 3rd IVF which I know will be BFN - does anyone know if there are any additional tests that can be done to find out why embroyos not implanting ?
my first cycle - egg qulaity was an issue, 2nd cycle had 2 grade a 8 cells transferred and this cycle used donor eggs and had 2 gade a Blasts transferred on day 5??
anyone offer a gimmer of hope that this may one day work ???
Have you had any immune testing? Some RE's believe in immune issues and others don't. From what I hear my last RE wouldn't even talk about immune testing but this new clinic that I am going to is really big on it. There was a Dr. Alan Beers that did a lot of testing with immune issues and he believes that immune issues cause a lot of miscarriages and implantation issues. Here is a link to his site.
So sorry to read your post. I know you from the 40 thread. my ivf history is below. I seem to get pregnant from a fresh cycle (1 dd thank god, 2 miscarriages from 3 fresh ivf cycles) and I had 3 flat out bfn with fets cycles (transferring d5 blasts). I know that this time my doctor has put me on steroids to try to avoid potential immune issues and I am not aware that the clinic does a huge amount of immune testing (but I think I recall that you told me that you were also on steriods this cycle as well). After my 3 failed fets, my doctor sent me to do an endomentrial biopsy to see if there was any issues with the uterus lining but he also said that by doing this biopsy it causes the lining of the uterus to regenerate and that this itself helps implantation. I know that he said that he has had a lot of success at the clinic with this approach for failed implantation and no identified immune issues.
After this endometrial biopsy, I got pregnant with a fresh ivf cycle but had a miscarriage at 10 weeks but he believes that this was due to fluid in my left tube (which I had removed in January 09).
I just had my er on wednesday and am hoping that some of the embrys make it to monday for a day 5 blast transfer. Thinking of you and I know that it is so tough. x
Let me know how you get on. when do you test?

on my first IVF in 2007 I got a BFP then miscarried. Then we did 6 more cycles, ALL bfn. I had the dr check my thyroid. I have hyperthyroidism. Once they got that under control, I did another IVF cycle and now I am 27 weeks pregnant!!!! If I would have known before the first cycle, then I wouldn't have had to do 8 cycles!!!!!
Hi Doddo, first of all congratulations on your bfp! I'm always looking for people for whom it took several attempts. Do you know for certain that it was to do with the thyroid issue, or whether it was just the fact it takes time? I've had 2 fresh cycles and four fets and still no success. I'm debating whether to use the last opportunity we have on the insurance, which I would have to do before I hit 40 in November, even though I don't have much hope left. We're already on the adoption waiting list. Do you think there is still a chance?
