Regular feeding schedule ? and bfeeding question!

Post by riogirl71 »

Questions on feeding

1- Anyone out there bfeeding past 6 months? I am bfeeding my boy and he is growing like a weed and I was wondering how much solids do you give him/her and how much do you breastfeed?

2- What is the regular feeding schedule of your baby with formula/solids? And how much?

We breast fed our girl to 10 months and we would have done it longer were we not worried about waiting too long before starting to try for #2.

We started supplementing with formula at 6 months or so; we mixed it 50/50 with pumped breast milk from when mommy was at work. We started giving her solids around the same time, but up to a year or so solids are mostly to get the baby used to it, not really for nutrition so much.

Looks like we are on the same boat, I want to go for #2 soon! My boy hates the bottle and sippy cup so I am trying to figure out how to get him to get used to having a bottle!
When are you going for #2?

At 6 months my daughter was BF 3-4 times daily and eating 2 meals consisting of cereal and fruit in AM and cereal and veg in PM. I began menstrating again at 6-7 months and we got preg again at 8 months. Sydney, now 14 months, weened herself at 11.5 months. At 9 months she was eating 3 good meals, included protein, and nursing 1-2 times a day.

We survived 3 IVF's and many IUI and MC's and became preg nat both times......we are very fortunate. Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your current child. Good luck with your journey

Thank you noodle! How wonderful to conceive naturally twice! I pray that we get one of those miracles!
He is ready to go to daycare except he won't take a bottle or anything but the breast. I would like to get him used to formula or breast milk from a bottle but no luck.......
I love breastfeeding him since it is such a bonding experience and it is great for him, I want to do it for 12 mos then try for #2
