Hi... I just went through this... We transferred one 6-day blast via FET on 4/13/09, and I got my BFP on 4/22/09, so it is possible. They say that blasts tend to do better in FET anyway, so don't give up the hope. We had more embryos frozen, but we chose to only transfer one in and effort to reduce the chance of multiples. Did the embryologist just thaw one of your blastocysts. I know that not all survive the thaw. I think taking all the medications and living with all the hope wil be hard on transfer day if there is nothing to transfer and we are sent away.
Yes, we requested that they only thaw one blast. Actually, we had 3 frozen blasts, all stored in different straws, so they were able to only thaw one at a time. Our first choice embryo survived the thaw with 90% of the cells intact, so we still have two frozen embryos left. Hopefully, we will not need them if all goes well with this pregnancy. What I can tell you is that we knew we were only going to transfer one, so we had three chances at one of the embryos surviving the thaw. That made us feel better. Because of the way our embryos were stored, etc. the embryologist would have just gone from one to another, etc. should we have needed them. I can also tell you that the process and the medications for the FET are much easier on you than the fresh cycle. In fact, we asked our RE if for some reason this FET didn't work how long we would have to wait to try again and he said that we could go right back into another cycle as soon as AF arrived.
