Flare or antagonist protocal

Post by *Ert* »

Hi,

I am about the start my second IVF. My first ended in a miscarriage after 8 weeks. I only had 5 mature follicles on the long lupron protocal with nothing left over to freeze. My doctor wants to change it for the next time. She suggested the antagonist protocal. We went for a second opinion and that doctor recommended a flare protocal. He said he does not see as much success with the antagonist as he does with the flare.
Anybody have experience with either of these protocals?

From what I have seen, both protocols work fine most of the time.

The flare is sometimes recommended in low responders. Maybe it's better, but I have not seen convincing evidence.

I have done flare, antagon and estrogen priming. The estrogen priming worked best, followed by flare, and the antagon was in last place. Of course this was me and everyone is different. I also make 3 to 5 follicles.

I am now 25 weeks pregnant from the estrogen priming protocol.
