Anyone on Bed rest from their 22nd week?

Post by San926 »

Hey Ladies,

Anyone's gone on bed rest from their 22nd week?

This week has been really bad for me, with pre-term contraction stress, bleeding etc, but thankfully the babies are doing good, but i am left with
slight crampings, lower severe back pain ( on and off), and stomach issues with nothing seeming to digest properly!!!

:(
My Work HR called and suggested Short term disablity and my Doctor's put me on bed rest, mostly off feet with no work stress till i deliver!

my due date is Aug 11th, but can happen anytime after July 15th once the 32 weeks are done.

Any advice or tips on how to cope with being at home and on bed the wholeeeeee time!!! :(

San926, I don't have any advice but I am told since I am carrying triplets that I will be on some type of bedrest starting at my 20th week, which is the week of June 8th. My due date is 10/26 but they say I can have them anytime after the 28th week. I am hoping that I can hold off till atleast between 32-34 weeks.

If you get any tips on keeping sane let me know I am sure I will be needing them.

San926: I was on bed rest at 20 weeks with my twins due to funneling, shortening of cervix, dilation, contractions, etc. I would just say to take it seriously if they put you on it! I did not do so at first then ended up in the hospital on bed rest!! Even so I went into labor and my water broke at 31 weeks and had my babies. So really, take it seriously and just enjoy it while you can!!! Read books, watch tv, movies, lap top, you know. Relax. I was allowed to go in the pool so I dunno if you are able to do that but that helped me out a lot. It took a lot of the pressure off. Just do not do too much in there either because you could come out of the pool with contractions.

I haven't been on here in SOO long because I couldn't rock the boat. I went on bedrest April 2nd. I'm still on bedrest at 34 weeks, 3 days. I'm so thrilled I've made it this long. We were very concerned about lung development with 2 boys. I'm doing a little more than just lying still watching TV or sleeping. I can't really walk because it's so painful but I am getting up to brush my teeth or make a sandwich which all had to be brought to me. Bedrest is a tough thing to do, but like everyone says...It's so worth it. I was so happy to get to 34 weeks. Big Goal! Good Luck w everything!

San926- how are you dong with the bedrest? I am not going crazy but I love to go to the DR's appt then I get to actually leave the house. Hopefully my blood pressure stays good and I can return to work atleast for 5 weeks, cause then at 20 wks back to bed/light rest.
