I am now 25 weeks pregnant! Its been a very rough ride due to the problems with a mosaic CVS result. I had two amnios done and got a total of 45 cells that were totally normal. The CVS showed a 1/25 rate of mosaicism. That means 2 out of 50 cells were abnormal (with a severe defect). It seems, based on the amnios, that the problem was just in the placenta. No way to be sure, but we are hoping and keep our fingers crossed.

We were going to do a blood sample from the cord, but the cord is inserted into the membrane before it travels to the placenta. This makes the blood sample procedure too risky.

Katherine is growing and her scans look perfectly normal (aside from the cord). I have scans once a month to make sure she is continuing to grow and continuing to look normal. She is about 6 days behind in size and weight, but they say that is the 23rd percentile and nothing to worry about.

The fear is that the abnormal placental cells combine with the cord being off to the side may cause nutrition problems. If worst comes to worst, she would have to be delivered early so we could get her enough nutrition. But I hope that won't happen and that she will keep growing and maybe even catch up in size. The OB said that its better to have a smaller baby than a larger baby in terms labor pain ;-)

Good Afternoon,
It is with great saddness that I tell you that DH and I lost one of our little Angels on 4/29/09. Alexa Rose became an angel of God due to a very aggressive blood infection with 3 hours. PLease keep babies Angelina and Arianna in your prayers that they continue to do well and Alexa that God takes her into his kingdom and she knows how in such a short time with us she captured our entire hearts and souls.

Much Hope - Prayers to you and your little angel. I am sorry for your loss.. Will be praying that your other 2 precious girls are healthy and continue to thrive.

Lynnie - thanks for the update on you and your baby. I was wondering how everything was going. Will also be praying for your baby and that you will be able to deliver a happy and healthy little girl. I also love the name Katherine. I would even consider that for my child but so many relatives and friends already have that name.

hi everyone, wow it's been forever since i've posted..

elida, i am sorry sorry for the loss of your alexa rose. i will pray that she rests peacefully and that you and your husband can celebrate the life you briefly enjoyed with her. i'm also so glad your other 2 girls are doing ok.

kas you are such an amazing trooper. i admire your strength and think of you so often. i'm grateful you're staying connected to us during such a difficult time, and please don't worry about providing any of us personals right now.

babyhope, i loved your story...touched my heart. and to everyone else, it's great to hear the updates, ny, chris, wonder, gina, pixel, lynnie, wishing.

i'm doing well, nathan kicks like crazy lately, i have horrid indigestion, but if that's the least of my worries- i'm doing more than ok. reality of having a baby is sinking in in different ways all the time lately. it's pretty cool.

love to all

ladies,

sorry to report bad news but we just take each day as it comes right now...

sadly i went into labor on friday and gave birth to Hunter, our precious son. Sadly his heart stopped and nothing could be done for him. He was so perfect even down to his little fingernails and i thought he looked like DH and he could see me in his face. we dressed him in some tiny clothes and little hat to keep him warm and we held him all day until we could let go. we have his handprint footprint ans lots of photos of him.

the other 3 are staying put for now, if anything changes i will be getting a c-sec. tomorrow i am 24 weeks, anyone not preggo, please have a beer for me to celebrate....

elida so sorry, i feel your pain so i know how you are hurting

Kas - I am so sorry to hear you lost Hunter. He was a fighter. You are such a brave and courageous person. Hunter will now be a little angel for you 3 other little ones. I will be praying that you can hold on longer and let the other 3 bake some more. Good luck when you have your c-section and know that we are all thinking of you.

Chris

PS - I will drink some beer for you.

Kas I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Hunter was strong to fight that long until he could be in you and DH arms. I pray that the c-section goes well and that the other 3 will do well upon delivery and after. We are still here for you and we're still praying for you! Thanks for the update and big hugs to you.

Elida I also wanted to say that I am sorry to hear about your loss of Alexa. I am praying that your other 2 angels continue to hang in there. We're always here for your support. You and DH continue to be strong.

My heart is broken to hear about both losses but I hope that both of you ladies find comfort in the memories of your angels and the strength they exhibited while they were here. I'm sure they'll be looking down on you.

Lynnie and Karen I am glad to read that everything is going well with the both of you.

Hello to the rest of you ladies. I hope that all is well with you all. Have a good week.
