We just had embryo transfer today following a donor egg/donor sperm cycle. We received 12 eggs, all fertilized. 4 were frozen earlier and the other 8 were grown out to day 5 and all were perfect blasts. They said my lining looked perfect and the transfer went perfectly smooth. I'm just wondering what the chances are that I wll get pg - 2 tranferred. I don't know if chances are better since all 8 blasts were perfect and the cycle couldn't have gone better according to the doctor. Any info would be appreciated!! Thank you.

The implantation rates vary. Some clinics can get 50%, but the national average is more like 30% or so. With 50% implantation per embryo, the chance of a clinical pregnancy with two embryos transferred is 75% (under the simplifying assumption that implantation of each embryo is independent of the other, which is probably not really correct). With a 30% implantation rate, the chance of a clinical pregnancy is about 50%.

Since yours was ideal, maybe your chances are near the higher number?

We did 8 rounds using my eggs and my husband's sperm - results were 2 chemicals and 6 bfn. We did our 9th round using donor egg/donor sperm - transferred 3 perfect blasts and got pregnant with twins.
I understand that the implantation rates are better with donor cycles. Was your egg donor a proven success?
