Yeah, I'm just waiting for a call back and they'll probably tell me it's ok, but I feel like I need to keep reporting it- It makes me feel like this should be 'labeled' a high risk pregnancy- but they probably won't do that at the OB/GYN's office - who knows! I'm just thankful I'm not having pain.

everything fine!

Post by Tara2009 »

Hello all,

Sorry I couldn't give an update earlier. I was running around between ER, RE and OB!!! This morning I went for my first OB appointment, and the u/s showed that everything was fine. I am so relieved. The past 3 days have been nightmare. I was told that spotting is not abnormal throughout pregnancy, as long as it is not bleeding.

Thanks for all the wishes and support.

Cymplicity & dvdjohn - Congrats on the twins. How exciting!

Ian - did you check with your doctor?

Thara.

Tara: thank heavens!!! I was going to send you a private message to check on you! Glad everything is fine- WHEW!

My doc called back and said it is common to have some spotting (dark) after a BM.... I still can't relax. My ob's office said if they don't get a heartbeat, they will do an u/s- WHEW.

cvs test

Post by Tara2009 »

Have you ladies thought about the cvs test? Yesterday my OB said there is a risk of miscarriage in this test. After all this trouble to get pregnant, why would we choose to do a test knowing there is a risk of miscarriage? I think I will go for the amnio test instead. Any thoughts on this?

Tara.

Tara, I haven't given much thought to it but I'm sure it will be brought up at my first appt next week. I read that aminio also carries a slight risk of miscarriage so is CVS even riskier? Also, if you have the Nuchal Translucency screening and things look fine, do you even need to do either?? I'm clueless with this stuff :P

Hello :D

ianmichael3- has your spotting gone away? your OB appt is tomorrow right? Its good that its so close it will give you a peace of mind that everything is allright :D

cymplicity27- wohoooooooooo twins !!!! How exciting, congrats!!!!

Tara2009- i dont even know what this test is, but I've read alot on this board about both amino and cvs test, do we have to take these test do you know? I haven't seen my ob yet so i never got that question, but if i dont have to do it I won't.

AFM today was the day when i put on my fat pants and they didnt fit! I guess I have to invest in some maternity clothes this weekend, I feel like its so soon to do that but I'm suffering today being stuffed in them all day at work lol

dys24, I went out soon after I got my BFP and got clothes that I could grow in to. I had gained some weight since last summer anyway and didn't want to waste money on clothing that I'd only be able to wear for a month. So I got a few pairs of maternity shorts and some tops. Some things I could wear that didn't necessarily look like maternity but would give me room to grow into later.

So my new thing is that NOTHING TASTE GOOD!! I've been eating 1/2 of everything and sometimes eating 1/2 is really forcing myself. I don't feel nauseous at all, just a little full and the food just doesn't taste good. About the only thing I can eat a full serving of is fruit. I expected some food adversions but not totally disliking everything! I've read that some go through this for a few weeks. Anyone else experiencing it? Any other time I'd welcome some weight loss but I know I need to eat for the babies now :)

dys: LOL!!! Fat pants! I've been using a hair band through the button hole on my fat pants for a little while now! I know how you feel! I'm going to go to my friend's after work and pick up 3 tubs of maternity clothes to borrow!! YAY! :) I thank God for her every day.

Yeah, it stopped, but who knows when it will come back. I'm secretly hoping my OB will order an u/s so he can better tell me what this pool of blood is in the lining of my uterus!

TO ALL: you don't have to have any tests you don't want to, make sure you weigh the pros and cons and go with your gut, and pray too, of course. We all worked so hard to get here!

ianmichael3- ohhhhhh I'm so jealous you have a friend that can borrow you clothes  I've looked online at gap and old navy and first I hate everything they have lol and second everything is kinda expensive and not available in stores how the heck am I supposed to know what size I'm now? lol I'm glad your spotting stopped for now, I'll pray that they give you an u/s tomorrow, maybe if you insist and say pretty please they will do it?
As far as the tests go, I would never terminate a pregnancy even if the baby had something wrong so thats why I never considered those test because I think they test to see if the baby has down syndrome and stuff like that right? I was wondering if they force you to do at least one, so thank you for the info.

cymplicity27- maybe I should look at larger clothes for now, and buy maternity later. But then i feel like its a waste of money since I know i will only get larger  As far as the food, I only get it if I crave something , like today in the morning i craved egg cheese on a croissant, I ate half of it and that was the end of my craving lol so I kinda relate

dys: I know! I looked at those websites too for some clothes and saw some I kinda liked, but just cannot justify the expense! :? I think there's a Clothes Mentor or Platos Closet close to me that carries maternity stuff on consignment... Once Upon a Child does too- are those in your area? If so, definitely check them out!

cymplicity: YES! I had the same problem... go for club crackers, even if my mouth would dry up from not wanting to eat... I still try to choke a few down and they would settle my tummy- seems like week 10 is when I started to turn the corner, so I hope you all do too soon!

OMG dys24, I craved a sausage, egg & cheese croissant this morning and only ate 1/2 of it...too funny!

Nicole, I hadn't heard of the hair band through the button hole! I'll have to try that

I found a skirt at Old Navy that has one of those fold-over loose elastic waist (if that makes any sense). It's soooo comfy and I have plenty of room to grow. I've been trying to stick to clothing like that before going total maternity.

Good morning :D

ianmichael3- I'm thinking about you today and your OB appt! Hopefully they will do an U/S for you like you wanted. I don't think i have any of those stores around me. I know there a goodwill store nearby but never thought about them having maternity clothes but maybe I'll check them out.

cymplicity27- thats too funny lol maybe we should coordinate our breakfasts from now on lol

So I found some cute shirts on walmart.com and order 3 today they were like $8 each with 97c shipping so i figured I can give them a try and also I can return them to the store and I have one nearby so its convinient if they won't fit.

Q. for you ladies, do you get like a tight burning sensation between the tummy and chest area after eating? i'm not sure if its heartburn because the burn stays in the middle , and honestly i dont even know what heartburn is lol   and I got it yesterday and today when i ate.
