Hey ladies. I've been waiting for a January thread and never see one so I thought, why not start it myself??? I figure my due date will be January 7th based on retreival date. I go for my second beta tomorrow (one week after 1st). Everything is going great. Just the typical symptoms, sore tata's, peeing all night and starving constantly. I went to Motherhood Maternity and got one of their wireless sleep bras and OMG it makes SUCH a difference. I'm only a B cup normally so I thought I would be fine but I guess it doesn't matter how big you are, you're still gonna be sore.
I do have a question for anyone out there though. I keep feeling pulling. It's in two different places so I think I might have twins but it happens when I stretch or put my arms under my pillow above my head. It feels so freaky and was just wondering if anyone else is feeling this. I can actually feel a tiny bit of pulling constantly on both sides constantly but when I stretch it's like someone inside of me pinching me with fingernails. I would LOVE to hear if anyoneone is experiencing this.
I will be 5 weeks Tomorrow and I have emails coming showing me pics of what he/she/they look like and normal symptoms each week and this board (since the beggining of my 1st IVF in '05) has been a wealth of information. It feels great to be able to read about people going through the same exact stuff that you are and at the same exact time.

Yeah, I too have been watching for a January thread. I am so glad you started one! I used to be on this board all the time when going through my IVF's a couple of years ago. A little history on me...After six years of trying every concievable fertility treatment my DH and I decided to adopt from foster care in the state where we live. As this is a long process we decided to give it one last shot at getting preggo. I went back to my original specialist whom I really like and asked to give Femara a shot. Well the first cycle we did the femara with BBT charting, OV kits and scheduled fun:) at amazingly it worked!! I am now 4w5d's. My first Beta came in at 396 and I will get the results of the 2nd today!
I too have the same typical symptoms and also the pulling sensation. I asked my doctor about it and he said it is my uterus stretching to make room for my little bean. I had to laugh whey you said it was like someone inside pinching you with fingernails because I tell that to my DH all the time! He just looks at me funny:)

Oh, I'm so excited. Thank you for confirming the pinching feeling lol. Other than that I think I'm pretty normal. I turned in my 2 week notice at work today so I can relax and not stress (my boss is a real pain in the a##). I so look forward to hearing your levels today. I go for mine today too. Hopefully it will be a lucky day for both of us. Congrats on your bean.

Tiffechels, I agree that at this point for me everything appears to be normal. I got by second Beta numbers back and they went from 396 to 927. That gives me a doubling rate of 1.6days. I am very excited and pray this means this little sticky bean is going to stay where it belongs!!
I look forward to hearing your beta numbers and will be crossing my fingers for you! I am glad to hear you were able to give your two weeks notice at work. Having a pain in the a@@ boss does not sound like fun. I am very lucky as I work from home so my hubby and I have been able to rearrange our schedule and duties so that I don't have to lift anything heavy and can relax as much as possible. At this point we are doing anything and everything we can to prevent m/c. We have had a couple in the past but never with all the numbers looking this strong so now we sit back, relax and pray!!
Oh that's wonderful Jill. I am so happy. I sold cosmetics on eBay for 6 years before the recession hit so bad last fal and had to get a "real" job but now the eBay is doing better and I added clothes to my store so I will be doing that again (which I absolutely LOVE). I just got the call and my numbers went to 1339 so I am very happy. I have my first ultrasound on the 21st so we will hopefully find out how many we have (hoping for 2 but 1 will be a true blessing). Hope you're day's goin' great. Just finished Breakfast #2 and I'm eyeballin' my chicken salad and baked sweet potato for lunch haha. At least at home you can graze...is that a good thing or a bad thing. LOL.

tiffichels - You will feel lots of pulling. I did and I'm pregnant with twins but I think it's common even if it's a singleton. I do have a question for you. You said you use to sell cosmetics and now clothes on Ebay. Do you use a dropshipper or do you buy your own stuff to sell? I've been trying to get an Ebay business going but haven't had much luck with dropshippers.

Hey Aimes. I remember from the March/April thread. I'm so excited for you about the twins!! I don't use drop shippers. I have never had good luck with them. I only sell items that I purchase and handle myself. Goodwill is a great start with the clothes, just look for stuff with tags. I am amazed what I can find sometimes.

I just got a positive beta on Friday and am due January 14, 2010 if it's a singleton or December 23, 2009 with twins
My second beta is tomorrow and I am majorly anxious but trying to stay very positive! This was my first IVF which was done for male factor (low morphology).
So far, I don't feel too bad- just very tired, very thirsty and going to the bathroom all the time! I also have slightly sore breasts and nipples (and they are big and swollen!)
My first ultrasound is at 5 1/2w and is scheduled for next Monday, and I will find out how many babies stuck!

Hi mb1981!! Welcome and CONGRATS!!! 1st try, that's absolutely wonderful! Let us know how the beta goes. I wish my Ultra Sound was going to be so soon. I have to wait until the 7 week mark which is the 21st. Seems like forever away.
All of your symptoms are right on track. Sometimes I feel like my boobs are going to fall off because they hurt so bad. LOL. I did get a sleep bra from Motherhood Maternity and it is awesome. I was thinking it would irritate me because I am not a fan of tight things on me when I sleep but it's soft and really does hold everything in place.
Oh, and drink it up. It's healthy for the baby(ies). The peeing is a pain side effect but if it makes your baby healthy it's worth it. I've been getting up every 2 hours in the middle of the night. Doesn't seem like that often during the day but I may just not be paying as much attention in the daylight hours.

Went in this AM to do my second beta- crossing fingers for a good number! This will be 3 days from my 1st beta so I am hoping my numbers will triple. Ahhh! This waiting is almost as bad as the 2ww!

My second beta was 483 on 12dpt5dt (17dpo). They increased by 2.5 times since my first beta on Friday (3 days ago).
I am just a little concerned because when I plug my betas into the beta calculator, my betas didn't quite double- they increased by approx 1.83 (or doubled every 2.3 days)
Do you think this is ok? I see most women more than doubled on the second beta. I asked my nurse and she said I was within normal range and they didn't need another beta until my ultrasound next Monday. I guess they would have done another beta if they were worried but I am just concerned.
Thoughts? Please be honest.

It shows where you should be at what week. I was only at 168 my first beta and a whole 7 days later when I had my beta I was only at 1339. That calculator says I would be about the same (doubling every 2.33 days) and everything is fine with me. All of our levels are different and some have one baby and are really high and some have three and are somewhat low. As long as the levels continue to increase, that's all we need.
I am positive they would have you come back in a couple of days if they were worried. And since they are similar to mine I can tell you that my Dr. said my numbers are great. Just stay positive and think....you get to see your little bean(s) in one week!!! I have 10 whole days to go. LOL.

Thanks so much for the kind note, it did make me feel better! I called my doctor this morning to express my concern about my non-doubling beta (in 48 hours). His assistant called back and said that I could do another beta tomorrow. Please cross your fingers that it doubles. I would feel soooo much better! I wish he would have called me himself to say my beta was just fine but I guess tomorrow's beta will give me an indication of how things are going.
This is way worse than the 2ww!!!

mb1981 - So sorry I didn't reply last night, I was sooooo exhausted after work that I didn't even check my email. I am glad they are rechecking your beta today.
