Post by FFZ »

Hi there,

I'm currently on BCP (until 17) started Suprefact ( Lupron) on 11th and I will know my protocol as soon as AF arrive. If everything goes well hopefully we will have ER end May-early June.
For all that wants to join I will start a list

Lupron
FFZ- From 11th

Hoping to see many of you here and a lots of BFP these coming months… :D

Had my transfer yesterday - and this is unbearable

Post by Melinda37 »

Hello - I am brand new to these forums but have recently benefitted very much from the info and thoughts expressed here. Long story short: My mother was in menopause at 38. At 33, with no boyfriend/husband in sight, I tried unsucessfully with 6 IUI attempts on my own using donor sperm. Had laproscopic surgery, 1 tube was able to be freed, the other so badly fused together (ovary and tube) the surgeon was unable to separate. Began IVF appointments. Wasn't responding to the meds, FSH level of 21. Right around that time, I met the man who is now my husband!

In January of this year, we selected a donor for the eggs and my husband was tested. Last week we were thrilled when we got 22 eggs from the donor. 15 mature, 14 fertilized, of which 11 were Grade 1. On Day 4 we were down to 10. Yesterday the day of the transfer, we had 3 blastocysts so we put them all in. Today I have just learned that none of the others made it to be able to freeze. I am devastated at this news. I am trying to find info on these boards about anyone who had none left over to freeze - especially with the numbers we had to start with. I trust my clinic and the doctors are extremely well respected. But I question. . .
So now - I'm $50,000 and 5 years into this process and all of my hopes and dreams for carrying a child are in me right now - and they are my last hope. The statistics tell me that having 3 donor blastocysts in me (with great lining) is a great sign and the odds are with us. But after years of struggle, I'm finding it difficult to stay positive.

I know this thread is for people currently going through it - but if any of you have stories similar to this (where no embryos were left to be frozen) I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks.

Hey can I join you guys? Well a little about me... I am currently 24 years old. Been married with DH for 2.5 years without known fertility problems. I pretty much got pregnant when I was 19 (not planned) and miscarried 2 days after I found out. Ever since then I knew there would be a problem conceiving. Two yrs back I was dx with ovarian cysts, endometriosis and last year found out both my tubes are completely blocked. IVF is my only option right? Well, I am now into my 3rd cycle (first 2 ending in BFNs). At the end of last cycle they suspect DOR. Great huh? I am on a No OCP Lupron Microdose IVF Protocol and this is day 2 of stims. We are looking into retrieval and transfer being last week of May or first week of June! Hopefully we will all get out BFPs. Good luck to all!!!!!!!!
IVF #1: Oct '08- BFN
IVF #2: Feb '09- BFP (Chem)
IVF #3: May '09- BFP
(Triplets lost at 21.5 weeks- Preterm Labor)
BFP: Natural Pregnancy March '10
Little Frank Manuel arrived 11.20.10
June '11 natural BFP sadly ending in miscarriage :(

Hi everyone,
Welcome everyone :D :D :D Lots of baby dust to everyone
FFZ:When I stoped the bcp I spoted on the 4th day and got AF on the 5th day. But AF was extremly light which dr said was normal. When are you going to start sims? It is exciting to start sims who knew getting shots would be this exciting  My Dh prepares my injection and I do my shots. I tought I would hurt more bu it does not. I take Gonal 1050 out of the fridge 10 minutes before my shot so that it does not hurt going in. I don´t have hot flashes but I do have cramps . which the nurse said it was normal

Melinda 37:Hang in there . I will pray that everything works out for youRosario: sorry to hear about the past failed cycles. good luck wih this one. This could be the one think positive
usmcwife14: Good luck with the er
Today I am so tiered no headeache today :D Does anyone know what is the avarage for an E2 on the third days of sims. I have 100 and the nurse said that it was very good :?: I have u/s on saturday

Hi all,

Yes, I will jump on this thread too! I'm 42 and dealing with "precious time" issues. Due to all kinds of life events (getting married 4 years ago, working on a Ph.D., having to move away from my husband for a year to do a clinical internship, etc etc.), making babies got a late start for me. We've had full work-up now (decided to seek professional guidance so as not to waste more time) and basically everything looks great on my end and doctor is impressed because my body doesn't really think it's 42! DH, however, has some sperm issues. So.....doc's recommendation is IVF with ICSI and he is optimistic.

I just finished Clomid Challenge Test and responded well, so now I am waiting any moment for the phone to ring and the nurse to tell me what protocol the doctor wants me on. I will start my period in just a few more weeks and hopefully with that I will start whatever I'm supposed to. In the meantime, I am due to ovulate any day (peeing on that stick every morning!) and my DH and I are going away to a wonderful resort this weekend (where we got engaged) and will engage in massive baby-making attempts one last time naturally (even though the odds are very, very low, but hey-why not?!) and one last shot of relaxation before all of this IVF stuff begins.

So, enough about me...

FFZ: According to Jack Johnson, who is one of my favorite singers, "3 is a magic number." So hopefully this year will be the one for you! I am hoping....

Eve2860: Like you, I will be doing my very first IVF cycle. You are a few steps ahead of me so it will be helpful to hear what you learn and encounter along the way. Good luck and how exciting that you're off and running!

Melinda: I think it's wonderful where you're at. Try to remember to stay positive with what is going on inside of your body RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT (you have 3 donor blastos in there). It is easy to get caught up in what's happened in the past, or what might happen in the future, but try to be in the moment, one moment at a time. And yes, stay positive!

Rosario: Good luck with this cycle! Like I said above to FFC, "3's a magic number!" :) I want to hear your progress and I am excited for you to already be underway.

usmcwife14: We are newbies together I guess, although you are ahead of me! The 19th is growing closer and closer!! How exciting! Give us updates as things unfold and good luck!!

sabi: Glad to see another "IVF newbie" here as well! I will have much to learn from people like you who are new to this but slightly ahead of me by a few weeks. I know I'll have a ton of questions when I get to that stage, so be ready for them!

Looking forward to this thread and I send positive vibes to everyone!!!!

Wow - it's a wonder what kinds words from others can do! Thanks. I am starting to feel more positive today. I think I was so down due to learning about having no embryos left in reserve. . but that doesn't change the fact that I have 3 donor blastocysts in me right now. Anything is possible. Pregnancy test is 5/22.
Good luck everybody!!

FFZ: When I am on lupron and I have had trouble with hotflashes! In fact it really was my only side effect from it, but I had mine during the day, I have just been hot all the time since starting, it is bad. But I only have a couple more days of the shots and I have to say the side effects aren't as bad as they were in the begining. Hope it gets better for you :)
