i had the same scenerio and was told the same thing. then ended up being OHSS b/c of so many eggs. OHSS is a fluid buildup in your abdomin caused by your ovaries. i wish someone had told me ahead of time what to do. here is what i was told after 4 days of pain!!!
You have to stop drinking water, juice, soda, anything...except for gatorade. there is something about gatorade that doesn't bloat you like other fluids do. drink plenty of it. also, try to eat high protein. they actually recommended for me to do ensure or boost rather than food. You must must must stay off your feet. laying down is best but sitting with feet up is ok. Your kidneys work better this way and will be able to process the fluid. If you got pain meds, take them. If not, 2 tylenol extra strengh every 6 hours.
If its the same thing you may experience tight chestedness (fluid causes pressure on diaphram). And your nights will be worse than your days. I would do the above ASAP so it doesn't get worse. I was miserable. I am on day 7 of bed rest and am feeling better. Nights are still a little uncomfortable. Hang in there!

It varies a lot. Report everything to your doctor. You can also go to a hospital for examination and treatment. They can treat the pain and decide if it's due to a major problem.

There is normal post-operative pain, and there are unusual levels of pain that can indicate something not normal. Ovarian torsion can occur now, and that is very painful. Or perhaps the aspiration needle punctured something it was not supposed to. I could not begin to guess over the internet, but my point is that you should be aware that pain can reflect a serious condition, and that you have options for getting it checked out.

I can relate to that - I had extreme pain after they collected 16 eggs, I could hardly walk and vomitted. I do recommend going back and getting checked. I did - and they said it was that some of the follicles they had removed eggs from filled up again with blood then burst - so after 48 hours with feet in the air and painkillers I came right..The good news I guess is with that many eggs you have lots of chances of success. out of our 16 I got 6 viable embryos..
