I am lost as to what to do. i have no known fert issues. DH had a vasectomy years ago, we tried reversal it did not work. so they did sperm retrevial, got some good ones. I did a stim round of ivf - and we ended up with 6 'great'embryos. they put a 3 day old back, and froze the rest at 5 days. the 3 day old came through as a BFP - then at 7 weeks HCG started dropping and I miscarried, 2nd time we did a natural cycle - waited till I ovulated, and the did a FET - that one came back as a chemical pregnancy. HCG read as 6, so just got aunty flo as normal. Had wondered about implantation problems. So 3rd time I did a colorado, took asprin, oestrogen and progrestone..with some antibiotics and steriods around FET, again day 14 had a BFP - but was warned as the HCG level was low 29 - then sure enough on day 16 the HCg has dropped to 12. so have been told to stop all drugs, will lose this one too. what is going on?? IS it me? what could be wrong with me..what else could we try? they have 3 x 5 day old blasts in the freezer..should we even bother or am I going to get the horrible phone call 3 more times?:

The bright side is you have three more left. It only takes one.
Don't ever blame yourself. The facts are that most IVF cycles fail, most patients must try more than once, and many clinics give overly optimistic appraisals, making patients think it must be something odd about themself.
Can you put back more than one with the next cycle? If all of them fail, then you might wanna try CGH or some genetic testing on the embryos? That said can you test these remaining 3...
What I am thinking is that you want to find out if they are genetically normal....if they are not, then you know the problem and you need to do another round with fresh embryos...
If they are normal, then you can investigate what is happening. If it was something about implantation, you could use a surrogate...if it came down to that.
Me: 44 severely reduced reserve
DH: 44 perfect
IVF 1: Feb 08 -BFP twins (lost one at 7 weeks, one at 13 weeks)
IVF 2: June 08 -BFN
IVF 3: September 08 -BFN
IVF 4: November 08 - Katherine Emma born 8/9/2009
Thanks guys- you are right - they quote that 80% get pregnant within 3 cycles, I gues technically I was pregnant but its what carries through to live births that counts.
What is CGH? You are exactly right I want to know if there is something genetically wrong with them. DH has had 3 kids all fine, but I have never tried before. So maybe it is something we me.
They never tested anything with me - because they said I was so young and healthy.
Come monday I am meeting with specialist and he has said come along with a list of questions. I did ask for two to be put back last time but they said they will not put two in for women under 35. Do you have any suggestions on what questions I could ask? I see immunology sometimes causes problems - what is this?
It's one of the genetic tests for embryos. Some clinics offer it. Some offer other tests.

Thanks everyone - I spoke with the specialist yesterday and asked loads of questions. He is running some more bloods on me to test my antibodies, but he has said - he believes that I am well and healthy and the fact the embryos are each implanting and producing hcg - means my uterus is beautiful - we are just waiting for the golden embryo..his theory is that of the 6 embryos we got probably only 1 would be viable enough to turn into a baby - so its a matter of finding the right one. I asked about cgh testing and testing the embryos - and he said its not common here in NZ - we would have to send it to australia, and then run the risk of losing the embryo - we could do it, but his advise was to stick to the colorado and use up the remaining 3 embryos and hope one is the one. he will not put more than one back though because I am under 35..must be some rule here in NZ. he says it does not increase your chances of getting pregnant, but likelyhood is if one holds it might encourage the others to hold and then will end up with multi. So today I start my oestrogen and onto cycle 4!
