Hello,
Lots of personals first, I haven’t posted in a while.

Welcome Nicksgam, we have motility issues too and are doing ICSI also. You’ve definitely found the right place for good IVF support.

Wolffie, I hope everything is going okay with your DH’s job. I’ve had 2 FET’s, it’s definitely a lot easier than a fresh cycle.

Welcome CT_Michele, sorry to hear about your last cycle, I’m sure this one will work. Good luck with your biopsy and uterus evaluation this week. And so sorry to hear about your dog, we have 2 Yorkshire Terriers and I just love them to pieces.

Welcome prayin4BFP, sorry to hear about your cancelled cycles. Hopefully they’ve learned some things that they are putting towards this cycle.

Welcome angeinhall, sorry to hear about your unsuccessful cycle last month.

Welcome Stay Positive. I LOL at your “suckful sperm” comment, that is a great acronym. IVF can be a horribly isolating experience and these forums are great for asking questions and meeting people who are going through the same thing. I hope your mini-vacation was fun, I think a vacation should be written into every IVF protocol!! I’m glad your ultrasound test went well today and that they said you’re a good candidate, that is always a nice thing to hear.

Welcome Kushka. The side effects of the drugs are different for everyone, hopefully yours won’t be too bad. I would check with your clinic about the timing of your drugs, it’s a really good question and every clinic and drug protocol is different. When I’ve talked to my clinic about this it seemed like it was more important that certain drugs were spaced out a certain number of hours etc. When in doubt ask your clinic, that’s what they’re there for.

Sabi, I know you were nervous about the shots, how are they going? Is your numbing cream working for you?

Welcome deftonesmo.

Welcome sunshine.12. I agree with Chris about ER and ET. After ER I was crampy and slept a lot. After ET I was tired too. But since it’s your first time I would maybe have a back up plan in mind just in case you aren’t up to a drive. Other people gave you really good advice in terms of dealing with people that are pregnant around you. I have a horribly hard time with that too so I appreciate what people posted about this topic. In terms of your cold feet, I really think you have to go into this process realistically. You could get a BFN, but you could also get a wonderful BFP. Keep yourself as positive as you can, and keep yourself busy. Plan little things for yourself to look forward too so that your positive attitude stays at the forefront of your mind. This whole process is one roller coaster ride of up’s and down’s, and unfortunately you have to bear the down’s to get to the up’s. Just hang in there.

Rosario, are you the first one on here that’s stimming?? Start us off strong girl!

Chris, I’m glad you feel so good about this cycle, hooray PMA! Congratulations on your husband’s new job.

Ls4, I’m glad your mock trial went well today, I hate doing stuff with a full bladder. I believe most people have to do their ET with a full bladder too, ick.

Saunagirl, I’ve done Lupron for all 3 of my cycles, sometimes I had red itching at the site of the injection and an occasional Lupron headache.

Statsgoddess, I’m so sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Let us know how your meeting with your doctor goes. And if you decide to do a fresh or frozen cycle, maybe your doctor’s input will help here too.

Welcome mikeandjess. I’ve done 3 total cycles (1 fresh, 2 frozen) and for our last frozen cycle we didn’t tell anyone, well, I told one friend who had done IVF also. I think it’s an easier secret to keep if you are doing an FET, fewer appointments and all of that. It really took off a lot of the pressure and I didn’t feel pressured to send a note when we got our BFN, and call people etc. It seems like there are so few things you can really control about IVF so I liked being able to control this information. Our next cycle is a fresh one so we are telling some people, but I’m still not telling all of them the exact dates.

Hi SBR

As for myself, I’m just on the BCP express. According to my clinic BCP’s help improve egg quality/production, that’s my best new thing I’ve learned this cycle. I got all of my drugs last week and this week and I’m all set to start my Lupron on Monday. I want to get this show on the road!! I’ve been keeping really busy and have had some other positive things happen in my life recently so hopefully I will ride a PMA wave right into this IVF cycle. Take care all.

Belle,
Glad to hear things are rolling with you. You're an inspiration with that total PMA!! WE all need to hear that! Take in the good- because there is so much of it around us. I don't even let those neg thoughts near me. It's not worth it-plus a better way to live really. Nice personals! I have not used the numbing cream yet-I'm toughing it out. For sure I'll use it w/the progestrone. Have a super duper day!

Kushka - Hopefully you can make the 15th person soon! I know what you mean about everybody being pg (14 is a lot) but my best friend is pg with her 4th baby right now. She called me a few days ago to tell me. It's hard to stay positive with everybody else's good news. That's why I love these forums because when the people on here have good news - it's like FINALLY one of us!!!

belle-02 - Thanks for the welcome! Good luck with the start of your new cycle. I know FET's are less stressful but there is something about a fresh that gets you more excited - maybe it's all the work you have to put into it! It only takes one sticky embryo!

HELLO TO ALL! Only 3 more days of BCP's for me!

Hi Everyone –
It has been awhile since I posted, but I have been trying to keep up with everyone and what is going on.

I had my down reg US on Monday and all was good (thin and no cysts). I start my estrogen today to start pumping up my lining. It is an IM shot, so I’m a little nervous to get back on that bandwagon. My butt is still sore from PIOs 2 months ago (hit a nerve). Last time I did the estrogen in pill form, so the RE wanted to change things up and hope it makes a difference. I’m still scheduled for my FET on June 3. 2 weeks from today!!! I’ve been VERY down lately. I’ve had a migraine for 2 weeks straight that I think is from the lupron. The pain has definitely put me in a depressed state and making me question if I’m doing the right thing. I’m trying to manage it with chiropractic and acupuncture care… I think it is helping a little. I think I am also freaking out about it because I had a horrible last pregnancy. Literally I almost died during childbirth and I still get flashbacks to it from post traumatic stress disorder. Hadn’t had any in a long time and they are sneaking up on me. I hope I don’t sound like I am complaining! Everyday I feel grateful to have my son, and everyday I am hopeful to be pregnant again. I think I have a tendency to try to protect myself from another BFN, and am looking for excuses as to why a BFN would be ok, even though deep down I am desperate for another child.

Ok – enough about me!

Rosario – Grow follies grow. Hope you are doing well and the cysts are ok.

Michelle – great list! I too have a big wedding 3 days after my beta so will either be joyfully trying to explain the no drinking thing, or drowning my sorrows.

Sarah – I hope you got things straightened out with the clinic and the money issue. How frustrating, especially when you find good financing and then they don’t work with them. I hear you on the weight thing. My last FET was 4 pounds, and so far this one is 5 pounds. What the heck… it all packs on in about 3 weeks. I’m only 5’1” so this weight is very noticeable and clothes are getting snug. Of course it will all be worth it with a BFP, right!!!

Kushka – Hang in there… your time is coming. I’m having a hard enough time with my SIL’s newborn. I can’t imagine knowing 14 people. Arrgghh!

I’m so sorry that I don’t have personals for everyone. I REALLY suck at them! Trust me though, I think about all of you a lot, and keep Michelle’s list in my prayers for everyone!

Hope you are all well! Take care of yourselves!

Hi everyone

I am learning so much from these forums. The support is amazing.

Just thought I'd let you know I start BCP tomorrow and will get dates to start down reg soon. Should be about 10th of June I think.

I am sorry I have not done personals but we are in the middle of moving back into our house after the 2007 floods and everything is chaos!

Rosario - I am sending you tons of good vibes for this cycle. Good luck at your ER.

Sorry I haven't posted much. I guess I am not a good board leader. I should be more into it after I start some drugs.

My new RE did some more immune testing. I tested positive for ICC which is Intracellular Cytokine. I had no idea of what this was so found this online.

The immune system is balanced between a TH1 (autoimmune) and TH2 (pregnancy or suppressive response). Almost everyone is balanced in this system. Women with implantation failure or recurrent pregnancy losses are unbalanced; they are autoimmune with too much TH1. The TH1 (autoimmune "bad guys") produce TNF alpha, Interferon Gamma and Interleukin 2. Too much concentration of these cytokines kill cancer cells (a good thing) and a chronic state of too much of these can cause implantation failures, recurrent abortions and even thyroid, insulin and serotonin disturbances.

To treat this I will be taking IVIG and intralipids to suppress the TH1 cells. I know a lot of Doc don't believe in the immune stuff but after 4 years of TTC I am up for anything.

I have to work 170 more minutes to work and them I am on vacation. I will be going on my Annual trip to KY Lake. Nice time to relax, drink some alcoholic beverages and have a lot of fun. I am totally hyped to get there. I should have internet access so I will try and pop in and check on everyone.

Chris—I am a research scientist and am working on making immuno-therapy medicines. Immuno-therapy is just as good as any other. Most if not all big pharmaceutical companies have medicine to treat the immune system and are making big investments trying to make more of these types of drugs (it is all the rage  ). These kinds of drugs have fewer side effects and are more specific to your indication. This will work for you PMA.

My dose of 600 units a day (300am/300pm)of Gonal F was cut down to 150 units/day (75IU am/75IU pm). Nurse says I will have a final us and bw tomorrow morning and possibly trigger tomorrow evening! I am excited but taking it one day at a time.

CT_Michele - Wow, they let you start again really fast. I have to take a month off before bcps, but I'm not sure if that's because I had a chemical pregnancy or if they would have made me take time off if it was bfn. I'm also really sorry to hear about your dog.

Wickedwheel, belle-02 - Thanks. I'm still having a pretty rough week. I really think a negative would have been easier to take for my first cycle than a chemical. So close, yet sooooo far. *sigh*

AFM - well, the clinic never called to schedule our follow-up appointment like they said they would, so DH called this morning. We go back on June 2nd, which seems like a long time from now, but I guess it's really not. I'm kind of mad they never called and we had to - you'd think after paying all that money, we could get treated a little better.

Everyone else - Sorry, not a ton of time for personals today, but I hope you have a great long weekend :)

hello everyone,

of course I do not have much time being finals week, but I wanted to try and do a post

stats- and I thought my clinic was making me wait a long time. When I went for my follow up and he said 8-10 wks, I was pretty upset because I was hoping for 2-3. But now I see how long everyone else is having to wait and I guess I just have to be thankful

sabi- enjoy your holiday weekend! Where are you from and where are you going?

chris- we all know that nobody posts as much when they are in the waiting stages, no need to apologize, post when you can, and we will all love reading your posts no matter how frequent. :D enjoy your vacation...you deserve it!

rosario- how exciting for almost trigger time! Our first ER/ET to come!

angie- you really do learn a ton from the ladies here...it is amazing. Glad to hear you are on your way, let us know when you know more dates, and so sorry to hear you were displaced from floods, but glad you are moving back in now.

EYCI- great way to look at the wedding a few days after beta...either an excuse for not drinking or we will have unlimited alcohol at our dispossal to drown our tears in...I am just afraid of being too miserable since I am in the wedding party and it probably won't be very pretty pictures...

mikeandjess- is today your last day of bcp's? What happens next for you?

Ok, AFM- I went yesterday for my biospy/uterine evaluation, and of course it just couldn't be easy. First they couldn't get the speculum in and had to use a special one, then the catheter would not reach into my uterus, so they used a special guide for that, and then man oh man, she warned me there would be like 10 seconds of bad cramping and she wasn't kidding! I am glad that is over, they said like 1-2 weeks for results.

And I started lupron last night. It is the first time I have taken it, and I was surprised by how itchy it was. The injection site actually got pretty swollen and red for an hour or so, but seems to have gone down. I hope that doesn't happen everyday. I guess I will continue lupron and bcp's for now, and I will stop bcp's in 3 or 4 days.

And now I need to vent, since this is the only place I feel I can do it without any judgement...I really can't go into detail and explain everything since it would fill 10 pages on this forum, but some family members had a big blowout this week. It is all stemming from my brothers out of state wedding coming up in july and how people are going to get there. But basically, at the shower at my house this past weekend, some people felt uncomfortable and blamed others for the way they felt and it all blew up. Now I don't think my grandma/aunt/cousins are going to the wedding, or talking to me, my mom or my siblings ever again. I say this stems from the wedding, but I really feel it stems from years of issues between my mom and my aunt, and everything else is just adding to it. It is so sad, and I feel like I have been grieving more the past couple days about losing those relationships, even more than I grieved earlier in the week from putting my dog down. I truly feel that this is the type of stress that could have caused my BFN just last month...and I need to rid myself of it for this upcoming FET. I just can't believe how some people can be so cruel, especially to family...the most important thing in the world. At this point all I can do is count my blessings everyday and be grateful for what I have.

Thanks for letting me vent...I know you girls are always here for that...hopefully it is out of my system and you will not be bothered with this garbage anymore...ugh...

Now onto finish some final papers for the semester

Rosario - I hope you get a lot of great/healthy embryos! Good Luck!

CT_Michele - I stop BCP's Saturday - only one more!! I didn't know until the last post that you were doing an FET too. We are really close cycle-wise. I've been doing the lupron since Sunday. The inj site for me is itchy too but it's not red at all. I have a blood test for estrogen on 5/29 and then if my estrogen is low, I'm looking at an ET 6/18 or 6/19. If estrogen is high 6/25 or so. I need to know so I can ask off of work. Everyone is off for the summer except me - trying to save my time for a BFP! Did they give you possible dates for an ET? We might be in our 2WW together. Good you can keep me sane!

HELLO TO ALL! PRAYING FOR BFP'S AND HEALTHY EMBRYO'S!
